  • Rude staff (0.0%)
  • $$$$ woah. Lox bagel $23. Almost feels un-New York. You also need to go through security, which is a hassle. (0.0%)

Top complaints

  • $30 for an omelette and a coffee - should be better, more flavoursome and generally more befitting of the reputation of this place. Somewhat mediocre. (0.0%)
  • ***UPDATED 4/26/18*** Patisserie Chanson USED to be my favorite bakery in NYC ever since they opened. I received rude disrespectful service from an employee on April 10, 2018 who literally belligerently yelled at me, ignored me, walked away, and started to joke with another employee instead of trying to help correct the fact that she overcharged me for my order. Eventually, another employee came to my rescue and gave me a partial refund. I suspect the lack of proper customer service was fueled by discrimination. I'm a young looking Asian woman and I was wearing my ugly workout clothes. In comparison, the customer after me who was offered good customer service and the BOGO promotion was an older, well dressed Caucasian woman. I don't think it was mere coincidence that we were treated differently based on our looks! With these higher prices, I expect at least mediocre service. They couldn't even deliver that! I tried to contact management multiple times since April 11, 2018 to urge them to train their staff better or else they would continue to lose loyal customers. Shirin wrote back promising management would be in touch back on April 19. It's now April 26! I'm done wasting my time with a company that obviously doesn't give a damn about their customers. Chef Rory Macdonald- I still adore you and your food/drinks! Your one employee needs improvement desperately! Too bad I can't come back and purchase that celebration cake for this weekend and future special occasions, show off this patisserie to my friend that's visiting NYC next month, enjoy another dessert tasting with my friends, partake in your afternoon tea, or try new seasonal treats. Good bye and good luck! You're going to need it with your current staff! If anyone from management actually cares to investigate: The time stamp from my receipt was April 10, 2018 at 6:12:58pm. Transaction 600034. Order: 583. Don't worry. I've learned my lesson. I won't hold my breath this time waiting for a reply or expect to be treated to proper customer service. (0.0%)

Top praises

  • *I Really liked the chocolate eclairs & the Marguerita pizza. My husband had a grilled sandwich and a side salad. He said both were fresh and tasted great. *Employees were very nice too. * The place is tiny, but the foods really good. (0.0%)
  • - the choice of vegan food is amazing as it`s very big and you can find great lunch options (salad, quiche, soup and more) but also sweet stuff like scones, cookies, cakes and more. - bring cash with you as we were not able to pay with card as the machine was broken! - the quiche was really quite disappointing as I expected something else and when I asked for some kind of sauce (even just tomato sauce) as it was very dry I was told i would have to pay extra if I wanted to use the tomato sauce... (which came across as a bit weird ...) - the kale salad was very nice and I would order and recommend that one! - good place to stay a while and read or even come with kids as there are books around.
