Absolutely disappointed in this restaurant. Every single table was dirty and full of trash. They had like 3 people working. When I asked to have my table cleaned the employee just sloped a wet cloth over it. I had to get napkins to dry it. There were no straws or napkins anywhere to be found. I waited 30 minutes to get my food.
After finding a large housefly cooked into my meal, I’m not sure I can come back here again. I worry about the state of cleanliness in their kitchen and if any larvae was potentially cooked into their rice pots. They also didn’t do much more than to refund my meal after being a loyal customer for many, many Uber orders. I’m not sure what I was expecting but perhaps a little more customer service and empathy for a real faux-pas in the dining world.
10 out of 10! I have been here for a “Sunday Evening Pizza”. Very clean restaurant in a great neighborhood. We had 2 appetizers (very gentle portions) and 2 pizzas. Both of them were absolutely delicious even if one came out a bit cold. The Tiramisù was a great choice as well. Miranda, who took care of us, was very professional and friendly. We will come back 100%
2025.08 Friendly service, clean and nice atmosphere The problem is the food! Maybe because it's catering to foreigners, the food isn't savory or tasty. Sweet kimchi stew, salty and sweet budae jjigae ㅠ Among the side dishes, kimchi and bean sprouts are delicious, but I ate the rest once or twice and left them.
A friend and I went for Dim Sum, the food was ok, but the service was terrible and we got water glasses with food floating it in. We complained and got dirty looks. Then even though we tipped the waitress told us it was not enough. When we did tip more the lady walked a way loadly complaining in Chinese. We will never go back, and will be telling all our friends. Avoid at all costs!
Came in for Valentines day. They greet you at the desk, take your coat and bring your coat tag to your table. We were seated 2min. after we arrived and yes we had a reservation. The tables are a little close to each other but they were also packed. There's 2 or 3 people watching your table and wine gets poured, dirty dishes are taken off. The food and presentation are terrific. We went the full route 1/2 bottle of wine, seafood appetizer, salads, mains and dessert. Everything was flawless. Had a great time, enjoyed the food and my girlfriend was happy. Life is good! Total bill $250 with tip. Just 1 thing the valet parking outside has nothing to do with the restaurant. It's $15 and I've used it twice. np
DESPICABLE SERVICE. BYBLOS DOWNTOWN DOES NOT VALUE CLEANLINESS OR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Short story: we found a LIVE caterpillar in our food. Tyler, the closing manager, threatened that if we didn't pay for the food that we DID NOT consume he would call the police. As racialized women, we felt we had no choice but to pay the bill. Long story: The evening started off great with wine and apps. We had just started the second course when we noticed a caterpillar had crawled out of one of the dishes. We didn't know which dish so we immediately all stopped eating. We quickly caught the attention of a passing server and they removed the caterpillar and escalated the situation to the manager. Tyler was the only manager available to "assist" us. Right off the bat he was unapologetic and tried to offer us a complimentary dessert. We communicated to him that we had lost our appetite and did not wish to continue dining; despite this, a third course was brought to the table. We communicated to Tyler AGAIN that we did not want to continue with our dinner. He removed the dishes and brought the bill. We assumed that Byblos, a well-established restaurant, would not charge us for the dishes we did not consume/had a bug in it. Any other restaurant in Toronto would have removed those items from the bill, at the very least, or would have comped us for the entire meal. However, when the bill arrived, it included half of the second course, which we never consumed, and he stated that he had 'waived' the third course (which came after we communicated that we didn't want to dine there) as an "apology" for our experience (it's not an apology when you remove items from the bill that shouldn't have been on the bill in the first place). He stated that mistakes happen and this was the best he could do. He refused to remove those items and we escalated the matter further. He spoke to the manager (Matt) who was offsite. We waited patiently for 45 minutes (we could have easily walked out but we didn't). When Tyler returned he provided us with the exact same bill and said that we either had to pay the bill or that he would call the 52 division for non-payment. We were all shocked that he threatened to call the police, especially because we were more than happy to pay for what we consumed. What started as an unfortunate mistake turned into a despicable customer experience. A simple apology and waiving of unconsumed food, which was completely at the fault of Byblos, would have de-escalated the situation. Instead, we were subject to unnecessary threats, including being followed and forced out of the restaurant. We will be making a formal complaint to Dinesafe Toronto and will never be dining at Byblos again.
90s ambience. Bit rundown but clean. Mussels I tried was boring. So was my Veal Which i was verymuch looking forward for. My Manhattan was perfect so was the wine service. Overall failed to impress.
Absolutely incredible dinner, the meatballs are to die for! Perfectly spiced and the cherry is almost alchemical in how it brings the ingredients together! Homemade chips also live up to the hype - don’t think I’ve fought my husband for chips much before this. Started the meal thinking we probably didn’t need the bread but as you can see, my husband used it well to do a bit of pre-cleaning of the dishes 😆 would definitely come back again for the meatballs! We also had the Flemish stew which was excellent as well!
After a busy few weeks over the Festive period, running after 3 yr old boys, siblings and parents, my partner and I decided to treat ourselves-on the recommendation of my brother and his wife (after they had read on a local blog/article). We were dropped at the door and trudged through the snow, into Enoteca Sociale where we were warmly welcomed, while our glasses de-steamed! The girl at the desk took our jackets before we were shown to our table. The restaurant was warm, cosy and inviting. Dark and atmospheric with a few candles dotted on tables, this was exactly what we were needing to relax, chill out, and feel cosy all at the same time. After a quick look at the drinks menu, we both settled on a G&T, with water for the table-just to ensure we kept ourselves hydrated! The restaurant has an extensive wine list but neither of us are that fussed on the grape juice. While chatting and deciding on our dinner choices there were a few more people coming into the restaurant, and it soon started to fill up. So for starter we decided to go for the deep fried risotto balls for two. They were deliciously crisp on the outside and sat on a bed of tomato ragu. Needless to say the gf wolfed more than just her half, but what I had was delicious. Onto our second G&T, and I noticed the last of the empty seats were taken. The restaurant was full-mainly of couples, and the staff remained attentive to all tables. After some time chatting, we were ready for our next round of drinks-thankfully we needed a refill on the water too! At this point I got a little frustrated as our server was paying more attention to new customers than us, but he eventually noticed our drinks were empty. After our drinks arrived it wasn't long to wait for our mains, the gf went for the bolognaise and I for the Sheep cheese and black pepper spaghetti. I've never had sheep cheese or any sheep food and I have to admit is wasn't Baaaaa'd at all, in fact it was pretty amazing! I was allowed a nibble of the gf's, and the bolognaise was meaty and juicy, or in her words 'tremendous...so delicious'. All washed down with some more G&T, we decided to throw caution to the wind and order some deserts. I went for a winter favourite-sticky toffee pudding and the other half went for the daily sorbet which was pear- and as I'm told amazing! The sticky toffee pudding was all I hoped for and more, and set me up knowing we were venturing back out into the snow soon. After wiping the plates clean we enjoyed the rest of our gin and asked for the bill. Although were not from Canada, we do notice places are more expensive than in Scotland, however for the quality of the food and the amount of drinks the bill was a pleasant surprise-we were under a hundred bucks. After a quick stop to the bathroom, these were clean, functional and just off the entrance vestibule instead of the main restaurant. As we left we were given our jackets and wrapped up warm before venturing out into the cold! After visiting Enoteca Sociale I am more than happy to recommend it. The food was of a good quality-and something a little different. The restaurant was cosy and intimate, and the staff were smart, professional and attentive. If you are calling to book-try and get one of their booths. We were seated at the window however I did notice the booths were already taken.

Half the menu not available especially sandwiches, everything overpriced compared to other spots walking distance from here, not clean loud music just 1 cook as server takes too much time for prep

Amazing experience, was looking to try a new steakhouse besides the regular Harbour60 or Blue Blood experience but let me tell you, this place does not disappoint. My favourite experience by far regardless of being seated at the bar, Thanks to Milan ofcourse. Firstly, the food was impeccable, everything was so detail oriented and the tastes matched that energy. Best steak I’ve ever had in my life was eaten here. A dry aged Kobe Wagyu strip loin, one word - butter. Besides the unreal food this experience would not have been it without the energy and service of Milan. She took the initiative to explain and answer any questions we had, all of her recommendations hit the spot, and ontop of that, took the time to give us a tour of the dry aging room. Her energy was 10/10 throughout the experience and it wouldn’t have been as comfortable as she made it feel without her. 100% recommend for anyone in search of an upscale fine dining experience. Will definitely return.

What a find! Gorgeous interior with a really cool vibe. Don’t let the ‘live DJ’ thing put you off, the music helped create the atmosphere but didn’t threaten to make our ears bleed. Food was magnificent, we both had steak (why wouldn’t we?) cooked exactly how we asked for it to be and the sides were perfection (we shared two sides and there was more than plenty) To top it all off our server, Stephanie, was an absolute joy who could not have looked after us any better, she’s a real asset to the restaurant. Oh, I also had the best dirty martini I’ve ever tasted 🍸
