Rude staff
"I visited Hugo’s Cellar specifically to buy a dessert to go, but I was unfortunately rejected. The staff informed me that they do not sell desserts for takeout and that I couldn’t make the purchase unless I was dining in. It was a very disappointing experience to be turned away as a paying customer over a rigid policy. I was looking forward to trying their food, but this lack of flexibility makes me hesitant to return or even stay at the four queens again.”
$20 steak and lobster tail should have been a $5 special. Idk where they found this "steak" if that's what it is, the tiny lobster tail came out cold enough it may as well have climbed itself outta the ocean and the apple crisp was like a soggy used pair of Huggies. Nothing crispy about it. I didn't expect much but I didn't expect it to be this low level food quality and service.
Excellent service and a warm atmosphere
Absolutely loved it. The attention to detail and service were amazing
Amazing service and food
We came two hours before closing, and we weren’t allowed to throw out trash because the employee(a guy with black nail polish) just emptied the trash so he told us with bad attitude “the trash is closed for a reason” Like, it was two hours before closing? We even gave tips and had this horrible service I would not recommend this place at all, the coffee might be good but you find another place to go !
***UPDATED 4/26/18*** Patisserie Chanson USED to be my favorite bakery in NYC ever since they opened. I received rude disrespectful service from an employee on April 10, 2018 who literally belligerently yelled at me, ignored me, walked away, and started to joke with another employee instead of trying to help correct the fact that she overcharged me for my order. Eventually, another employee came to my rescue and gave me a partial refund. I suspect the lack of proper customer service was fueled by discrimination. I'm a young looking Asian woman and I was wearing my ugly workout clothes. In comparison, the customer after me who was offered good customer service and the BOGO promotion was an older, well dressed Caucasian woman. I don't think it was mere coincidence that we were treated differently based on our looks! With these higher prices, I expect at least mediocre service. They couldn't even deliver that! I tried to contact management multiple times since April 11, 2018 to urge them to train their staff better or else they would continue to lose loyal customers. Shirin wrote back promising management would be in touch back on April 19. It's now April 26! I'm done wasting my time with a company that obviously doesn't give a damn about their customers. Chef Rory Macdonald- I still adore you and your food/drinks! Your one employee needs improvement desperately! Too bad I can't come back and purchase that celebration cake for this weekend and future special occasions, show off this patisserie to my friend that's visiting NYC next month, enjoy another dessert tasting with my friends, partake in your afternoon tea, or try new seasonal treats. Good bye and good luck! You're going to need it with your current staff! If anyone from management actually cares to investigate: The time stamp from my receipt was April 10, 2018 at 6:12:58pm. Transaction 600034. Order: 583. Don't worry. I've learned my lesson. I won't hold my breath this time waiting for a reply or expect to be treated to proper customer service.
A must-see in NYC Excellent cookies with multiple choices The whole family loved it! Very nice service But a little wait
I came here twice. Love the vibe. French music and food. Lean and friendly staff. Coffee is delicious. They have quiche, sandwiches and pastries. Nice room in the back for meetings or little gatherings. They also carry an assortment of packaged French items.
We are regulars at Le Moulin café on York Avenue, and enjoyed an excellent lunch yesterday – a Croque Monsieur for my wife and an excellent split pea soup for me. The croissants were two of the very best either of us have ever had, and she an ex-pat from Paris. Pretty decorations for Easter; prompt and very friendly service; and very good cleanliness. Because of the French school nearby, you can hear lots of French being spoken by all age groups.
10/10 experience in the heart of times square. Good coffee at a great price while in a city like New York. I recommend coming to breakfast and trying the pastries they make.
