$17.50 for a Guinness after recommended tip and tax? What am I sitting around a pool in Vegas? To be fair it was good, but thats the most expensive beer I have ever had in the country!
$79 for a 14 ounce sirloin of average quality! And NO SAUCE... The flatbread was also nothing special. Beef stroganoff was better but still not what I would call fine dining. I was excited that we were on the roof but the heating and poor air quality was a distraction the whole night. The overhead heater was so hot we were almost medium rare. Then there was the proliferation of propane heaters and natural gas fires. Not sure if that was the cause of the poor air quality and chemical smell or it was something from the kitchen. Overall, not a great experience at all, not recommended and would not go back. I've had better food at half the price.
1. After 5 phone calls from the staff, I was told by the supposed Manager that I could not get a table for 6 at 1 pm and another table of 6 ar 2 pm as promised. When I argued for 10 seconds, he threatened to cancel the reservation and escort me out of the restaurant. I would have walked out but I expected my friends. 2. The waiter was rude because he was getting 18% tip so he did not care how he treated us. It was my birthday and there was a restaurant birthday card on display. I had to ask him for my cake and he gave it to me in a box and shoved it into a bag and said, " Now you've got it you can leave". 3. The food was disgusting. My lobster omelet was tasteless and had 3 dime sized pieces of lobster. The French toast was half a loaf that was toasted all the way round but with no egg and tasted like a cinnamon roll and the inside was just plain white bread. What a joke. We should have returned those brunch items. And they were overpriced at over $30. I actually want a refund. I want the waiter fired. And the manager too. They can check my reservation under Monica Demsky. The Manager also made racist remarks. We also noted a lot of empty tables from 1 to 3 pm so we can't figure out what their problem with the tables.
2nd time visiting here and had to leave a review, on both visits wait staff was very professional and attentive to our table, frequently checking in on us and ensuring our needs were met. Prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food.
A bit pricey, but hot dog selection was unique and tasted very good! Lemonade was also extremely good. Poutine fries were a bit of a let down. Over all super good hot dog spot!
“....a $2 PhD in hot water economics” Came here for a $140 “snack” and a gossip session with a friend I haven't seen for several month - Left with a groundbreaking awakening on how to turnaround the Canadian economy productivity crisis (i.e. GDP per capital is lagging the US by 10-15 years, maybe forever at this point: 2025 US GDP per capita is projected to be ~63% HIGHER than the Canadian GDP per capita, based on data from the IMF). And it is all thanks to some Leonardo da Vinci of hospitality - absolute galaxy-brain restaurateur who stared at boiling water + one (as in 1 piece) lonely lemon (or lime maybe) circle and thought: “This… this needs a paid subscription.” Revolutionary!!! Truly next level entrepreneurship!!! I’m patiently waiting for the $5 “table structural stability fee” and the $3 “oxygen surcharge per hour." ....Starbucks literally just posted a Q4 EPS miss and their CEO must be on the floor crying into a complimentary cup of hot water, realizing they’ve been running a charity this whole time..... This is it, guys! this is where the turnaround happens! Forget AI, AI robotics, and data centers! -> introducing high added value processing of tap water near you! Every cafe, diner, gas station, and the sketchiest airport Burger King on the planet has been giving away hot water for free (cost: 0.0003¢ or something), but THIS place said “hold my espuma” and slapped a $2 line item on the bill for what is essentially a tea bag’s retirement value. Highlights of the experience: - Water was, indeed hot!!! Truly mind-blowing!!! I was not emotionally prepared.... - Lemon was… dark yellow? Greenish? Hard to tell in the moody lighting. Might have been a lime having an identity crisis (you know it happens sometimes...actually common these days). Still, it was trying its little vitamin-C-ing best, and for which I give it credit! - Food: good. - Vibes: immaculate. - Extortion: subtle, polite, and peak Canadian - just like your property rights quietly evaporating while everyone apologizes.... Would definitely return… to read the new reviews while sipping FREE hot water from the bar next door that apparently hasn’t discovered the hot-water gold rush yet. 100 % when I go to the any Vietnamese restaurants , I just order the Pho and spring roll quick eat and leave , do not care much any decor or fancy menu , one of my Vietnamese client hear that I am a very fussy foodie , so they invite me for dinner last night , it is almost three years since my last visit , still very modern upscale and bright ambiance , very busy almost packed , little noisy that my liking , and the tablets too close together , not very relax or comfortable , but very creative traditional Vietnamese menu with a touch of French far style cooking , it is not a cheap place for Vietnamese food , almost double the price from another Vietnamese's restaurant , average price for Pho is between $20 to $25 , outside most you pay is $16 , again , lot of foods for 4 people , the best dishes is the Soft crab salad , a classic dishes very colourful and tasty and the Meat platter very flavourful , also the shrimp pancake not too bad , very top end quality , I all way tell people , you pay what you get , no wonder is one of the Michelin restaurant recommended it , I thank my client for a wonderful meal , would I come back ? not likely , too noisy and not relaxing place to enjoy your meal , special just for Pho and too expensive and waiting time over half hours , foods is excellent , but you know what people say " Different stroke for different folks " okay to try it out , if you have not been to any upscale Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver . service is okay . I love their excellent idea for reservation by donation program !
4 of us with tapas and paella for two, $230 including 2 glasses of wine and 3 small glasses of beer. The food was good, but thy paella for two was $50 - about a 10-inch plate and two octopus with chorizo that was no bigger than a small tapa, was $44.00. For a normal person, I expect that 4 tapas would be required to make a meal - about $50 for that. And, house wine served at about 4.5 ounces was $12. The quality of the food was good, the service - OK, but the prices in my view, way overpriced. The atmosphere, nothing special and would I go back? Nope.
Above average food, but totally appalling wine stemware & service. Uncomfortable, crowded seating. Not at all sure how/why this establishment received anything close to a Michelin recommendation. Way overpriced.

2nd time to this bistro - definitely need reservation and go there knowing in advance that you have a 2 hour reservation time so that if you are looking for a longer time than choose another restaurant. The food is very good (Duck Confit and Beef Tenderloin, for our mains and Chocolate Mousse for dessert) Service is attentive but not overbearing. We did not feel rushed - experienced wait staff make the difference. Corkage fees are hefty if you bring your own bottle ($25.00) but maybe that is not out of line with other restaurants? Mains and dessert are reasonably priced

Waited almost an hour for the bill after asking for it

I found this place just in time—my phone was almost dead! The staff were incredibly kind and seated me at the bar so I could charge it. While my phone powered up, I enjoyed a delicious “Criminale” pizza that absolutely hit the spot. The surprise drink and the lovely music made the whole experience truly special. Definitely a one-of-a-kind visit—I’ll be back!

We were there for brunch to celebrate my wife's milestone birthday. The service was very good (Bella) and we got the table I had requested. The food however was terrible. I had arranged through the head chef for my wife to be able to order Alaska King Crab as this is something she was craving (not usually available for brunch). Unfortunately, the crab was very dry and seasoned with something she didn't care for. My crab benny was overcooked, dry and the bearnaise sauce was the texture of custard and I had to spoon it onto the benny. The avocado mixture on the side was definitely a miss. We also ordered two orders of the shrimp cocktail which while tasty, the three shrimp were not worth the $33 per order. I think I paid for the dry ice presentation. Overall, I was very unhappy as I wanted my wife to have a great memory of her special day. All this disappointment for a total cost of over $330! We have been to several other Global venues and this one certainly does not measure up to their usual and so will not be back!!

We had heard the buzz about this new restaurant. We all thought the food was delicious and the service was elevated. Definitely a step up from a typical Vietnamese restaurant. I personally thought that the prices were also elevated, but I did feel that we received good value for what we spent. We would recommend to our friends and certainly look forward to our next visit!
