5.30 Sunday 4th Jan my wife and myself got in from the bitter cold and got seated. Our order was taken which included a very expensive bottle of merlot but we were happy to pay £41 to compliment the following meal. First thing was the room temperature it was quite cold but was assured the heating was on full blast. The starter arrived, onion soup which was nice and helped to heat us up. Main course came to us on cold plates, sirloin steak which was unchewable which about half was left by the both of us, mashed potatoes and broccoli only enough for one came with the steaks served on separate plates both were chilled. Very disappointing and spoiled an overnight stay in Edinburgh
This is a chain restaurant with several locations in the city. Large, loud space. Food came out room temperature and all seemed like it went from the freezer to microwave, bland and mushy. Won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend.
Delicious food with a view of the castle. We ordered three tapas per person. The coffee here is excellent and some of the best we've had in Edinburgh. Service was very attentive.
I recently had a fantastic dinner at Cafe Andaluz in Edinburgh, and I can't recommend it enough! The atmosphere was warm and buzzing, with beautiful tiled tables that instantly transported us to Spain, but the real star of the show was the food. We ordered a selection of tapas to share, and honestly, every single dish was a hit. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors were authentic and bold. Here were the highlights from our meal: * Vieiras con Serrano: These scallops were absolutely incredible. They were perfectly seared and served in a rich basil and leek cream sauce that I wanted to mop up with bread. * Butifarra Negra: A surprising favorite! The black pudding paired with a perfectly poached egg and hollandaise sauce was such a sophisticated and savory combination. * Croquetas de Jamón: You can’t do tapas without croquettes, and these were spot on—crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth creamy on the inside. * Patatas Gratinadas: The ultimate comfort food. The potatoes were tender and bubbling with plenty of cheesy garlic cream. * Pollo Sofrito: The chicken was tender and the paprika and lemon marinade gave it a lovely, zesty kick. We saved just enough room for dessert, which was a decadent chocolate treat topped with ice cream—the perfect sweet ending to a savory meal. The service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better. If you are in Edinburgh and craving high-quality tapas, Cafe Andaluz is a must-visit. I’m already planning my next trip back!

I organized a surprise birthday party for my girlfriend and they were great. Later during the meal (meal, by the way, truly excellent), one of the waiters spilled a dish with olive oil on my coat. The restaurant, very responsive, immediately gave me £40 so I could take my coat to the dry cleaners. A gesture that I found simply ADORABLE! A great service and an exceptional sangria, by the way :)
