Had booked a double room for 7 nights mid-September 2017. Hotel is 15 minutes walk from nearest subway ( Joyce Collingwood ), part uphill. A small hotel with ground and first floor ; probably 20 odd rooms in total. Complimentary parking in the basement. External look of the hotel is unappealing being on the main road(Kingsway); reception is small but presentable. Were checked into a large room which was dull. Room had 2 Queen beds as the only room available at the time. Dark brown furniture, walls, carpet and curtains. A free standing air conditioner, no wardrobe. Room smelt musty and had large window at the busy main road level hence lacked privacy. No kettle, but a coffee percolator, which was inadequate for boiling water for tea. Bathroom though small had been renovated recently; had a clean and fresh feel. Staff applied air freshener on request. Next morning we asked to be moved. A similar room overlooking the side road was available with a slightly better colour scheme and new fitted wardrobe area. Reception agreed to move us and offered to see if a kettle was available. When it wasn't, and after mentioning it again, they kindly provided one on the 3rd day. We felt more settled after that. Wifi in 2nd room was good and cleaning reasonable. Points to bear in mind. This is a basic hotel. Rooms are large, colour scheme varies from room to room but furniture is the same and outdated. Bathrooms all appear to have been renovated. Very comfortable beds with nice white linen. The hotel is quiet, reception and cleaning staff are very polite and helpful. Nearby are a Safeway supermarket, mainly Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants, pizza take aways and a laundrette. Overall we found the area to be safe with good transport links. However since hotel is not in downtown Vancouver, we consider the hotel overpriced, given rooms need updating.
Personally would not trust this hotel. I booked my rooms directly with Marriott and received confirmation email of rate. Once I departed the hotel after my stay, my rate was significantly higher. I spoke to manager at hotel during checkout and showed him Marriott's email with rates and confirmation, to which he would not honor. I tried recourse with Marriott directly and their customer service is just as bad as the service at the hotel. Buyer beware, just because he book directly with hotel and receive confirmation, the hotel has leverage to change your rate, or at least in my case. Hotel also looks much better on their website then in person. Average hotel at best.
My stay at the Stanyon Park Hotel was necessary as a family member was an inpatient at at UCSF which is within walking distance. I met my House keeper on my day early check out by random occurrences in the hallway. She was incredibly polite and thoughtful; in asking me specific questions about care needs for my room. I explained I was checking out early so her thoughts were appreciated but not necessary. The rest of the staff seemed to only be there for the purpose of working; not for the needs of customers. All or most of the rooms at the Stanyon Park Hotel face inward upon each other at some point; like a horse shoe. This causes many issues. From sounds that carry ( voices, music, children screaming, personal sounds, phone calls etc.) , the inability to open the window shades for lack of privacy, ( you see directly into one another’s room. So there is a huge feeling of isolation at the very least to confinement. There are no pictures on the walls and this picture is mis leading; it really shows the shear inner Roman Shade partially lifted, as they do not lift all the way, with the view of the building across the way. Nothing more. The windows themselves , though part of the vintage “ charm” were an issue for me personally. As the are sash window that physically moves up and down; they are easy to become unbalanced from side to side as the move up and down. Causing them not to sit all the way to the bottom of the sill; leaving a open air gap. Well; the week I was there; it dropped to 37 degrees! The small baseboard radiator style unit heater takes a significant amount of time to heat the room! ( even at full on!) Speaking of the windows…my bathroom window was opaque with no shade whatsoever! This meant that once darkness fell; no light could be used in the bathroom for any bathroom routine! As everything would be silhouetted in that opaque window for all to see! Same for the morning shower routine! I looked out the ally and could see the other bathroom windows had Roman Shades. Seeing that this was the case; on two separate occasions, I asked the front desk to have this investigated. The morning girl looked at me like I was making a peculiar request to have a window covering in the restroom for privacy! Then she explained that it would most likely not be done for some reason about screws being placed in the walls. I had to explain to her; that shades are in fact, installed in the window itself, and not the wall. So she finally “ got it” and agreed to have the maintenance person drop by the room. In not having heard a report, by the next morning, I asked again. Same thing. This front desk person did not understand what opaque was. By this time; I was getting pretty fed up with these two. So I said; how would you like to shower or go potty with a back light behind you to where everyone can see you? And I added; the rest of the rooms have them and right now I am showering in the dark! She only agreed to pass along my message to maintenance just to appease my request. Suffice it to say. Absolutely nothing was done about my request. Nothing was said to me about this awful and what I would call unacceptable inconvenience. When I was checking out, a full day early, two men were behind the counter. An older woman was trying diligently to find a room for 1 night at the last minute. Do you think they gave her my room? ( with the hotel booked up.) Nope…..even with an excuse of their computers showing blocks of rooms being taken blah blah….they, as human beings, knew I was checking out early, and it was available. Bad Form Dudes! I can Honestly say…Run, Run Far away from this Hotel.
"Great First Impressions – Excellent Check-In & Solid Amenities!" Reviewed April 1, 2025 • Stayed at Hotel Fusion, San Francisco Just checked in today at Hotel Fusion in San Francisco, and I have to say — so far, so good! Jesus at the front desk was absolutely spectacular. Friendly, professional, and super helpful. He took the time to clearly explain all the amenities and even gave me a great room. I learned that the on-site bar just opened about four months ago — definitely looking forward to checking that out during my stay. As part of my travel routine, I like to share a review of the room, my check-in experience, and the amenities. The gym here is a solid highlight — open 24 hours, which is a huge plus. I actually did a quick video in there (you can catch it on my blog or wherever I end up sharing it). The gym includes a good variety: a nice rack of dumbbells, a convertible flat/incline/decline bench, and four machines — a stair stepper, treadmill, elliptical, and one more I’ll have to circle back on. I booked through Southwest.com and scored an extra 2,000–3,000 Rapid Rewards points, which made the already reasonable rate (around $120/night) even more worth it. All in all, I’m happy with my stay so far. If you’re in San Francisco and looking for a solid, centrally located spot with good service and amenities, check out Hotel Fusion! — Casey N.
Arrived via rented car. I did have to park across the street (sign says permit only) as you have to check in first prior to being able to enter their parking garage. Check in was fast. The front desk clerk was super friendly. We were in room 1108. The first thing we noticed was that the room is dated, but that didn't bother us. We loved the coziness. The rooms is just like a little efficiency in the states. The bedroom: small, but doable. The bed takes 90% of the room. The bed was comfy and they provide plenty of extra pillows. The room faces out to the balcony. The shades do a good job in keeping the light out. There's a closet in the room. The bathroom: tub and shower combo. Water pressure was good. The water temp was excellent. They provide bar soap and citrus smelling shampoo. Kitchen: fridge, micro, stove and dishwasher. Think little apartment. They have pots, pans, utensils.... the basics. I could not find dish soap or a scrub. Living space: a comfy couch and a TV which is all we needed. It opens up to the balcony. The room also has what looks like could be an office. Extras: -They have a parking fee -Wifi was excellent. The router is in the room. -The AC worked well -I never tried their breakfast, so i can't comment on it. - Tide detergent is provided for the washer. They have a washer and dryer in the room. Tips: -If you want to rent a bike, as the front desk. They will provide you with a coupon for a nearby shop - there's a Safeway a short walk away. - Stanley park is a block away. - GAstown is a 35-40 min walk from the hotel or a 15 min car ride.
This place was unexpectedly great. We swapped out our time share for the Jockey Club. Great location, clean, nice staff and connected to the Cosmopolitan casino. We had a beautiful view from our room. So many places were in walking distance. Great time.
Smelly room, such that they set room temperature at 17 to control smell, broken sink, very small hair dryer and old furniture.... not recommend at all.
The hotel is located in a part of San Francisco you don't want to be walking around at night. Homeless people lie on the street and against the hotel, some motionless, others screaming after a trip. Several rats roam the courtyard at night. The staff is very friendly and helpful. But that's about it. The rooms are really dated, and the bathroom fixtures are filthy. There was a stage for two parties in the courtyard. We were glad we left on the day of the party. The portable toilets and sinks were ready and waiting for us during the three days we were there. The photos on the website are completely different from reality, and all that for over $160 a night... oh yeah... parking is on the lot... $28 a day.
"Listen up, y'all. I gotta keep it real with you about my stay at Grand Bowery Hotel. The front desk homies were chill and welcoming, but that's where the good vibes ended. My room was straight-up nasty – we're talking cockroaches and bed bugs. Them bugs were savage, leaving me with mad bites all night long. And don't even get me started on the dude next door snoring like a dang chainsaw. I get it, the spot's cheap and in the heart of the city, but you gotta ask yourself if it's worth the nightmare. Trust me, spend a few extra bucks and find a better spot. I'm just trying to save you the trouble, fam. Do your research, and don't make the same mistake I did. This place was a total letdown, horrible place to stay and I'd never recommend it to anyone looking for a chill and comfy stay."
Amazing stay! The room was clean, spacious, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. Would definitely come back!
boutique with stunning views.

Good view. Convenient location. Price to service competitiveness could be better. Bedding was dusty on arrival. Valet laundry services and front desk responsiveness to calls was a bit lacking.

Tiffany made check-in such a pleasure! We enjoyed the super central locations, comfy beds and great views of downtown.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Fraudulent services and broken promises. I booked a stay here from April 18 to April 22, and it was an absolute nightmare. The hotel completely failed to provide working internet access. I patiently endured this for two full days, but since I had urgent business work to complete, the lack of internet forced me to check out early and relocate to another hotel. I previously left a review about this issue, and the owner replied publicly promising that they would process my refund. So, I deleted my previous review. However, weeks have passed, and I have yet to receive a single dime or a follow-up. They are blatantly lying to the public on Google Reviews just to save face. This is my final warning to the management: If my full refund is not processed and received within one week, I will immediately take the following actions: File a formal complaint with the NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) for false advertising regarding unprovided amenities. Report this property under the NYC Safe Hotels Act for a severe lack of required on-site management and oversight. I can overlook the fact that the room floors were poorly cleaned and filthy. I can even overlook the fact that the front desk was constantly left unattended, disrupting basic service. However, failing to deliver advertised services and then shamelessly withholding a promised refund is completely unethical and unacceptable. They are treating customers like fools. Watch and see if these are empty words. Save your money, your time, and your sanity—do not book this hotel.
