5 course meal that emphasises SLOW cooking. Service is inconsistent between diner groups. As a solo diner, I was seated at the bar next to a pair of friends. At first, the server that guided me to the seat was friendly but as the night progressed, it gets progressively harder to get any server attention except when they are serving food. For my 7PM reservation: 6.45PM - Arrived 6.53PM - served bread and spreads 6.58PM - explained about “surprise menu” and given the drinks menu. Asked for recommendation with the food. She offered white wine. 7.05PM - couple next to me arrived 7.31PM - served tuna tartare (very yummy) 7.44PM - served this pork & tuna meatball - like starter (interesting, I like the flavour) 8.08PM - served clams (nothing special, not particularly delicious) 8.30PM - served codfish with pumpkin purée (can get at any other Portuguese restaurant) 8:55PM - served braised beef cheeks (super tender, but not flavourful nor fragrant enough) 9:38PM - served dessert - lemon mouse (10mins after I asked for it, and it wasn’t great) From the timeline, they seem to serve food at 20-40mins intervals. Very inconsistent and for most part of the evening, it was spent waiting for food to arrive. Yes 5 courses, but manageable serving sizes (even for ladies). I really don’t understand the great ratings and reviews. Will not recommend for solo dinners. They seem to thrive off group energy. For solo dinners, they pay you no attention and it was hard to get their attention. The difference was striking to me as they kept making conversation with the loud girls next to me and when explaining dishes, the servers always want to do it for the group of 3 at the bar but the whole time, they only make eye contact with the 2 girls and chit chat with them. This felt rude and off-putting. Even asking for a small dish for the clam shells was challenging. Either the server’s English proficiency is lacking, or she simply could not care less to help. At checkout, the server asked for feedback but it only seemed procedural. I commented that food is good but was much slower than expected. She only replied that it’s a 2-hour dinner. (lol I got surprised when I saw the timestamp of my photos)… Also, the bar seat is a bad idea as your hair and clothes will stink of the kitchen smells / torches for cocktails.
6€ for one tea, 3€ for 250ml water and 3€ a coffee not worth the price tag. Porto has awesome cafes and restaurants with better coffee /tea etc and a fraction of the price. Not always price means quality. People just ends up feeling robbed and I am not going to repeat the experience again. Just because is not worth to spend my money on it.
A friend recommended this restaurant to us. We had 11 courses. Every single course was sensational. The wine were great. The homemade shots from the grandmother were great! But even better was the atmosphere in the restaurant. The waiters have spread such a great mood. The whole restaurant with all the guests became friends at the ed and celebrated together. We would come back anytime. In addition, it is an amazing value for that price... Update: Jan 30, 2026 Five years ago, this restaurant was something truly special for me: a nearly ten-course menu with wine pairing and shots between courses, fantastic atmosphere, warm service, and the whole thing for around 80 € including tip for two people. This time, I returned with high hopes and was unfortunately disappointed—for about five courses without wine pairing and only two shots, I paid more than double, some dishes were overly salty and overall poorly seasoned. The plates felt interchangeable, lacking any distinct signature or recognition value, more like standard 08/15 fare you can get around the corner in similar or even better quality. The service is still friendly and attentive, but the unique party vibe from back then—that perfect blend of great food, excellent service, music, and atmosphere—is gone. Overall, the price-performance ratio no longer adds up for me, so I'm revising my original 5-star rating to about 2.5 out of 5.
"There can be only one" ⚔ Very tasty, fresh, friendly staff and good prices. A few days in Porto and we came several times 🤗
"easy" restaurant without too much chi-chi .. Very nice people, great food and vine with fair pricing. A nice pearl!
A big surprise, food is really nice and tasty. Highly recommend to visit! Wine here is amazing! Prices is good👍 service on a high level!
2 stars and I am not sure about this.. We had francesinha and a pulp brochette. First time we had Francesinha and its sauce, it was almost disgusting. Pulp brochette with prawns was lower the average, let’s say acceptable. I believe that real quality has a price and when you go in these places you note it a lot. Final bill 30€ but if you want really eat good food, even if for a more expensive price, is worthy to go to other places. Cannot come back.
47 euros for 1 bottle vinho verde, sourdough bread, 1 small bowl raw fish salad, 4 pcs half sardine toast,...we think the price is a joke for these miniscule amount of appetizers.. the view is ok though and waiters are friendly..
A COMPLETE DISASTER!!!! After returning a raw and undercooked chicken satay starter the very same half portion of semi eaten pieces of satay were brought back to our table. The restaurant staff were rude and inhospitable and ruined our dining experience. Apparently Chef Rui Paula has a “take it or leave it attitude” and couldn’t care less about his customers experience. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO DOP AGAIN!
As a foodie, I'm a picky rater, but this place has incredible food, service, and atmousphere. The restaurant is upstairs in a charming building that is reminiscent of eating in a home from the turn of the last century. Linen tablecloths, cozy setting, and impeccable service. And the food!! It's so delicious! The menu is well-rounded with good selections for every course. Ask the staff for a wine recommendation, they will never steer you wrong. And don't fret that it might be too fancy, Ive seen people in everything from jeans and t-shirt to gorgeous cocktail dresses. they all fit in fine. Moderately priced given the great food. Dont miss this place!
03/20/2024 - 8:00 pm Booked the day before and they were helpful in accepting a table for two. Once there, we were taken to a table and presented with a plate of toasted bread brushed with garlic butter. While we were filling our stomachs we chose a grilled sea bream and a game sausage and a Casal Garcia sock to wet the thirsty gorgonomilo. To top it off, a specialty of the house: rabanada… a kind of bloated abundance of house-bottled sauce that fills you with pleasure and gluttony. The delicious food, externally and internally, competed with Vitor's quick, but above all gracious and good-humored, service! A charismatic character in customer service, polite in his dealings, scathing and attentive in his dialogue, Vitor exponentially increases the quality of the establishment. Tasty food, generous portions, pleasant atmosphere, impeccable service and affordable prices represent with distinction one of Invicta's emblematic places: Antunes, now renovated in space, but consistent in quality and service to its customers. To take into account on your next visit to the beautiful city of Porto.
10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Exceptional quality price, and wonderful treatment. It is good to be attended to as soon as you enter, they accompany you to the table, they are waiting for all the Service and if possible they accompany you and send you to the door. It is to feel like a luxury restaurant but at an affordable price, so much so that you repeat without hesitation. Also you can see the kitchen that is open and that, in my opinion is a good sign, especially when you go in and there are no smells which means it is clean and well ventilated. It is advisable to go hungry because they put a lot of food.

Service is great and the ambience is also cozy. But the food was lackluster. In search of 'fusion flavors' (which I usually like), they did not add any flavour as such. Was disappointing. Also pricey compared to other restaurants in porto

Cosy, unpretentious, and absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Prices are very fair.

When you arrive, they welcome you and take you to your table where starters like cheese, meat and bread are already on the table even though you did not order them. These are later added to the bill and this was not clearly explained at the beginning. They also offer water, but the price is very high and it is not shown on the menu, which again increases the bill unexpectedly. Another important point: the restaurant is cash only, which you only find out at the end, which is very inconvenient if you were planning to pay by card. The food was average but very heavy and overall the experience felt very tourist-oriented and not transparent in pricing. We left feeling disappointed and that the restaurant is not good value for money. I would recommend future customers to be very careful about starters, water and desserts and always ask the price first.
