A very big warning against the Da Vinci Hotel, which will be quite difficult to find as their quite dirty old front is somewhat hidden in the quite dirty street they're located in, and doesn’t reflect their prices. In general, the hotel is nothing like on the website - while looking like a fancy boutique hotel on the official pictures, the lobby is quite shabby and there’s a strong odour of the quite distinct rat- and cockroach repellent which is being used in old buildings in New York. As the hotel has a restaurant in the basement and is old and unmaintained, the pests come up to the rooms and there was a quite large cockroach in my room. My room was their most expensive category and the TV, which I had paid a lot of money to be able to relax in front of, did not work. The hotel staff and management were quite arrogant about it, just said the maintenance person was “out of town” all day and evening - and maybe the next day too. A Wednesday in Times Square? Booking.com did what they could to get my money back from the management but didn’t succeed and instead gave me a voucher. There’s in particular one receptionist who's quite nasty, will speak your first name in a condescending way etc. Both receptionists were shockingly dishonest. Also, please note that unless you buy the most expensive category, which is often more expensive than the last-minute deals at the nearby Hilton and Marriott hotels, your room will face back walls and noisy restaurant fans, not a very charming situation. This review will go back on top of Google a couple of times a month to warn other travellers as I know how much most people look forward to their sometimes once-in-a-lifetime New York trip. Furthermore, many people don’t like to leave negative feedback or forget to leave it and just stay away. Do yourself a favour and choose any other hotel in the area. Da Vinci Hotel clearly does not deserve to be in business and probably won't be for very much longer. Give yourself a better New York experience than described in the above - You deserve it.

$300 cleaning fee that was absolutely not transparent at the time of booking. You might as well book an AirBnB, at least those ridiculous fees are more upfront than whatever this “hotel” is doing. If you’re going to charge an exorbitant cleaning fee that shouldn’t be something that is snuck into the price summary that you’re only made aware of when you’re checking in.

$700+/night?! Dirty room carpets, no coffee machines, bed side outlets connected to the light switch?! (re: phone doesn’t charge at night), bathroom auto light switch?! (re: turns fully on when enter at night), neighboring doors slamming (re: doors with no soft close), almost none re:outside noise insulation. I hoped it was just my bad experience, but management confirmed the owners visited the hotel couple weeks prior my stay and apparently planned on changing “things”. Great location, but why charging so much for so little?

2/5; Very Dissatisfied. Room was Filled of Damages. Me and my friend began our 1-Night stay at this hotel. In a matter of five minutes, I was able to check-in and enter the room I paid $250 for. We were sent to Room 603. As soon as we entered the room, I encountered 2 roaches together but quickly killed it. Then when entered the bathroom, not only the soap dispensers located in the shower and near the sink were broken but had no soap inside. We were left with two lotions which were opened. It made me question if this room was cleaned. Moving on, I had to call housekeeping for soap more than two times to receive the item 30 minutes later. The housekeeper only brought one soap to share which I think is not great since I stated both soap dispensers were broken. Then next to the mini fridge, there seemed to be red dye or paint and it looks old and untouched that it was hard to clean or wipe it. Then near the closet space, a hanger was missing and broken so me and my friend could not hang out clothes for the next day. And finally, the 50 inch TV was glitching that it turned on and off by itself once. After all this, I spoke to the front desk and he stated that management would be connected. What should have been different is how it was handled. I was immediately dismissed when I told the man at the front desk the inconveniences that were in my room with my friend, an additional guest. Nothing was resolved and I spent $250 on a room that had damages written all over it. I hoped to receive credit or reach some kind of agreement for the duration of my stay because I was extremely unsatisfied and I have spent nights in this hotel before. 2/5; very dissatisfied.

Rooms are definitely tiny, however, the rooms has basic necessities, such as water, nice bathroom, and AC. The AC is loud, I will say. If you have trouble falling asleep with noise i dont recommend turning AC on. But the blackout curtains were nice, and the beds were comfy and sheets clean. the check in process took 2 minutes, and check out took 30 seconds. front desk was very efficient and very friendly. Came for anniversary with my boyfriend and was gifted tiny champagne bottle upon our stay! Whole process to book, check in/ out was extremely simple and easy.

Terrible; Not a 5 Star Hotel and Terrible Service Unacceptable treatment of a family with an infant — avoid if you actually need your room We booked through Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts specifically for the early check-in benefit, and requested it well in advance. We arrived around 9 AM with our 6-month-old baby and were left waiting in the lobby for hours with no real updates. When I asked the front desk if we could simply wait in a room — any room — while ours was being finished, the request was flatly and rudely refused. There was no effort to accommodate a family traveling with an infant, no empathy, no urgency. The lobby itself has only about four chairs, and at one point I was reduced to trying to rest there while we waited. By the time we were finally given a room, hours later, it was disappointing — small, with a cramped bathroom and shower that felt more like a roadside motel than a 5-star property. And even then, hotel staff were still trying to sort out our room situation as late as 3 PM, nearly six hours after we’d arrived. For a property charging 5-star prices and marketing FHR benefits, this was a 5-star failure in basic hospitality. A hotel that can’t manage a confirmed early check-in request — and treats a family with a sleeping infant this dismissively — doesn’t deserve the rating it currently has. I’d think twice before booking here again, FHR or not. If the Trump name is supposed to signal luxury, this stay was the opposite. Buyer beware — what’s promised and what’s delivered are two very different things here

Shay, Samira and the Staff rock! Thank you! My wife and I stayed at the Ameritania at Times Square last week and we had a lovely stay! The room, the staff, the lobby, hotel and bar, were all excellent and definitely met and exceeded our needs! Thank you! The hotel could not be more centrally located, the rates are fair, the rooms are clean, and the staff is excellent! I’d like to take a minute to specifically call out and compliment both Shay and Samira! When we rolled-in the evening to check-in, my wife and I had been driving for more than 12-hours. I asked Shay if there was a possibility of an upgrade so we could rest and recover comfortably and Shay was fantastic! Additionally, it was our Anniversary and Samira at the bar sent us an anniversary gift, which was thoughtful and lovely. Thank you Both! The staff here is not your average NYC staff. I’ve been regularly in NY for the last 15-years and I can say that the Staff at this Ameritania location are personable, proactive, and just plain friendly! I’d absolutely recommend the Ameritania to anyone visiting NYC who wants an easy, pain-free and comfortable experience! Thank you again!
