Smelly room, such that they set room temperature at 17 to control smell, broken sink, very small hair dryer and old furniture.... not recommend at all.
*Edit* DO NOT STAY HERE! Please read through the rest of the reviews, my story is exactly the same as so many others. The replies from managers to reviews are also disrespectful and they do not accept any responsibility for their poor service, even denying what actually happened. The staff are absolutely awful. Each time I talked to someone new, I got different answers and was treated very poorly. Every time I talked to someone at the front desk they told me that I was wrong and the other employees didn't say what they said to me. I was on a work trip and planned on paying with a corporate credit card and was told that I couldn't pre-authorize the payment, so I should book with a third party webiste, which I did. Upon check in I was told that there actually was a way to pre-authorize the payment, which they sent in an email. The next morning, with the pre-authorization form in hand, the next staff member claimed that the staff at check in did not send that to me and they would not accept the pre-authorized payment. I do not use this term lightly, but it was true gaslighting and a severe lack of respect. After having multiple conversations and arguments with different staff members, each one dismissing and ignoring my concerns, I decided to cancel my stay and book somewhere else. The operations manager stepped in at that point and still dismissed and ignored my concerns, with proof in hand. Each staff was disrepectful and clearly not trained well. The pictures of the hotel are misleading, it is a very old building. It smelt dingy and was not very clean, especially for the price, which is higher than most other hotels nearby. I will never stay here again and would recommend to anyone to not stay here. *Edit* Thank you for your reply. As I stated in my original post, I did call a week ahead of time and asked if there was an option to do a pre-authorization, but I was told by your staff that this was not an option and I should book with a third-party website. I called again after I booked through a third-party website to confirm my reservation and explicitly asked that the only charge on my personal card would be the deposit of $150, tho which the answer was yes. Once I showed up, this was not the case and I was told that nobody on the staff would say that because they all know the policies. Once again, gaslighting.
1 star is an absolute compliment to this place. Worst meal we’ve ever had. The indian guy at the kitchen seemed so joyful (not) serving the clients meals that I became depressed just by looking at him. My fork broke when I tried to cut the grilled chicken. The portions of chicken breast and rice are large enough to satisfy a 2 year-old chil. If you’re reading this review before going to this place - do not.
10 years ago i stay in patricia hotel and i really enjoyed it look so classic in the heart of downtown it was very affordable price .lot of dry fruits chinease shops there and on hasting street lot of drug eddicts but they don't bauther you miss this hotel
A Hidden Gem of South Indian Flavors in Montreal If you're craving authentic South Indian cuisine in Montreal, look no further than Arya. Arya's menu is a delightful journey through South Indian staples, executed with precision and passion. The masala dosa is perfectly crisp, served with a generous portion of potato filling, coconut chutney, and sambar that’s both hearty and flavorful.
A No Frills affordable Hotel with a great location on Robson.
Had booked a double room for 7 nights mid-September 2017. Hotel is 15 minutes walk from nearest subway ( Joyce Collingwood ), part uphill. A small hotel with ground and first floor ; probably 20 odd rooms in total. Complimentary parking in the basement. External look of the hotel is unappealing being on the main road(Kingsway); reception is small but presentable. Were checked into a large room which was dull. Room had 2 Queen beds as the only room available at the time. Dark brown furniture, walls, carpet and curtains. A free standing air conditioner, no wardrobe. Room smelt musty and had large window at the busy main road level hence lacked privacy. No kettle, but a coffee percolator, which was inadequate for boiling water for tea. Bathroom though small had been renovated recently; had a clean and fresh feel. Staff applied air freshener on request. Next morning we asked to be moved. A similar room overlooking the side road was available with a slightly better colour scheme and new fitted wardrobe area. Reception agreed to move us and offered to see if a kettle was available. When it wasn't, and after mentioning it again, they kindly provided one on the 3rd day. We felt more settled after that. Wifi in 2nd room was good and cleaning reasonable. Points to bear in mind. This is a basic hotel. Rooms are large, colour scheme varies from room to room but furniture is the same and outdated. Bathrooms all appear to have been renovated. Very comfortable beds with nice white linen. The hotel is quiet, reception and cleaning staff are very polite and helpful. Nearby are a Safeway supermarket, mainly Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants, pizza take aways and a laundrette. Overall we found the area to be safe with good transport links. However since hotel is not in downtown Vancouver, we consider the hotel overpriced, given rooms need updating.
**Avoid, avoid, avoid** Beware The Paradox Hotel is not suitable for couples or families. It is clearly aimed at single businessmen claiming everything on expenses. It is hosted by predominantly young women who are on the make. The Paradox is Outrageously expensive. We booked a suite here for 2 nights as we needed a wheelchair accessible room and due to city-wide conference The Hilton in Downtown Vancouver (which is fantastic) could only accommodate us for 4 nights leaving us to find a hotel for our other 2 nights. On arrival at The Paradox, our suite had a rubbish outlook and no view. The shower and sink were open plan so we had no privacy whilst washing or showering or getting dressed. The bar had a limited number of cocktails, was empty of people and a DJ played loud house music at 6.30pm. The female hostesses in the bar were totally in your face with 5-6 of them constantly asking if we wanted more drinks, snacks, etc. The Paradox has no accessibility for a wheelchair at the front of the building. Some steps but no ramp. This means the access is at the rear of the hotel which is on a hill so steep to push a wheelchair when leaving the hotel and having to enter and exit with the taxis. We later found out The Paradox was a Trump hotel which really says it all! Tacky and a complete waste of money. For what we spent here for two nights we could’ve spent the money on flights to Ottawa/Montreal/Quebec and paid to stay in a decent 4 star hotel. Don’t make the same mistake as we did.
*Hotel very well located (despite the homeless and drug addicts on the corner) and accessible by public transport. *The bedding is very good. *The staff is friendly. Thanks to the young women at the restaurant for warming up my milk ;) *Room of 16m² a little small for my taste for the asking price but acceptable. *The bathroom is large with a large walk-in shower, but unfortunately at night, the light from outside spoils the darkness brought by the beautiful black curtains in the room (you should think about obscuring the windows of the room). bathroom door 416...) *The hallway light under the door is also disturbing (maybe we should turn off the hallway lights at night or adjust the door?) *Breakfast is acceptable but not exceptional *Missing a small fridge. Luckily there was an ice maker on the floor to cool our drinks. *The air conditioning is noisy.
My room was a 1 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, not just a hotel room. Very good value for the price, especially considering how very expensive Vancouver is. Asna provided a great check in and check out experience and was very helpful.
The location is good and this is good value for the money. Internet worked and there is a bar fridge in the room. A little loud due to the Macdonalds drive thru next door, however everything else good. Staff are nice..
Very close to #19 bus stop which takes you into town and Stanley Park. Not far from skytrain. Rooms were so quiet given the busy road out the front - we heard nothing. Very good price and with breakfast included!! Staff were extremely helpful and so polite - we loved our stay Great if you are out sightseeing all day and just want a comfy sleep

Was impressed by the service provided by the team around the hotel they made the stay shine. Hard product was lacking and disappointing at this price point stayed in newer Hyatt places/hotels with better hard products. Ottoman had tear in it. Shower head was not great with water pressure. TVs were old and disappointing. Google cast didn’t work on one of the TVs. Dividing doors in suite didn’t lock in place. Also had in room dinning and the chicken tenders for $25 were almost inedible. Basically frozen super market quality with no flavor not what I would expect from a 5 star hotel. It is clear management hasn’t tried the food, if so they wouldn’t serve it as it doesn’t meet Fairmont standards. Summary: Service was 5 star, hard product experience closer to 3 star.

Sucks that it's down town but nothing you can do but it was easier then I thought to get to and it's worth paying for the parking so your not worried if your car might get broken in to the room was amazing especially for the price and the front desk rilly helpful and nice 🙂 definitely will come again when I need somewhere to go 🙂

The bed and pillows were quite comfortable and the room was very clean. The bathroom products were nice. The rooms are stylish, although the floor to ceiling windows in our room were in the bathroom. There was a shade with a gap on either side - I was a bit self-conscious about the Starbucks across the street! There is a small bar downstairs which plays loud club music which is piped into the lobby and elevators. I requested a 6th floor room as some other reviewers complained about noise from the bar and gym downstairs. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The staff were all completely lovely. The location is walkable to BC Place and several restaurants.

Another outstanding stay at the Wedgewood. The service was superlative, starting at check-in with David A. Martin the doorman and Dicken the manager were awesome, too. Our anniversary room was upgraded to a full suite, which was greatly appreciated. Everything in the room was perfect. We stay here when in Vancouver for the value, and the friendliness of the staff from top-to-bottom. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was very romantic, with a live pianist. This was our second stay, with many more to come. Our favorite hotel in North America!
