$18 per glass of wine and when we went up to bar to request napkins and more water for the table, napkins from the bathroom and glasses of water were rudely shoved onto our table while our empty water glasses laid unattended on the table. Also, this place only has a few food items that are all salty items to ensure patrons keep drinking their overpriced drinks. Here’s a hot tip: If you have run out of napkins at a venue like this, have some sense send someone down the street to buy appropriate napkins to get you through your shortage. Do not commingle things from the bathroom on dining tables, particularly when you price your menu this way. There are much better cocktail and wine spots in Tribeca…and the city at large. So, that’s where I will go…
$37 for a small draft beer and two small sliders (with a large whole pickle as the side for some reason). Not bad, but definitely way overpriced for what it is.
A cute place for a drink but can get a bit loud and cocktails are pricey.
169 Bar is a cozy and inviting spot known for its relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Located conveniently in the city, it offers a great selection of drinks, including classic cocktails, craft beers, and wines. The bar features a comfortable interior with a welcoming vibe, making it perfect for casual hangouts or after-work gatherings. Guests appreciate the attentive staff and reasonably priced menu. While it may not be very large, 169 Bar’s charm lies in its intimate setting and good drink options, making it a popular choice for locals and visitors looking for a low-key, enjoyable night out.
A cute little place to grab a small bite to eat. Attentive staff overall with lovely cocktails. As the bathroom says like 9 times: ONLY FLUSH TOILET PAPER! Also I really like most of the staff! One dude is slightly dude bro ish but ... You can't have it all.
A dark, cool escape from the hot streets of Chinatown. Great atmosphere and drinks. My girlfriend and I had the star crossed lovers for a quick pick me up. Delicious take on an espresso martini. Not terribly priced in comparison to some other overpriced NYC bars. Would definitely recommend coming in if you’re in the area.
We were SCAMMED! Expensive as hell!! we were charged multiple things without prior notice, such as a service charge 15%, a floor charge of 40$ and other things. When asked about it, they claimed it was standard practice and weren’t able to provide us with an unanimous response about the charges. Some claimed it was tips, another waitress said it was state regulation, …. Moreover, on top of it all, we had to pay an extra 10% tip because the waitress claimed the tax service was not part of the tip!!! RIDICULOUS. Trust me, you don’t want to go to the Hudson Yards Tavern. Additionally, the food was acceptable at best and the music was too loud. All things considered, I would not even recommend the Hudson Yards Tavern to my worst enemy.
The Stinger is a charming place to eat or hang out but it is very expensive--even for NYC. We got a couple of appetizers to go and they were delicious. A full meal here would break the bank.
AVOID. We came here for a jazz brunch for our anniversary a couple of months ago whilst on holiday in New York. We booked a table for 1pm but had to wait - standing in our coats by the door - for 20mins as our table wasn’t ready. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate and after 45mins of waiting we still didn’t get the drink (we asked the waiters 3 times for it). The food was overpriced and bland. The steak tartare smelled of fish and the main course came cold and looked like it was ready for about 30mins before it was served to us. The jazz was supposed to be from 1pm to 3pm but they only played one 45mins set instead. After all that it was impossible to get a check so we had to stand up and pay by the bar. Absolutely awful experience, It really ruined our day and put a dent in the wallet. It’s such a shame as the interiors are stunning. I can’t believe we still got charged for our meal after all this. we barely touched the good and had to get McDonalds after to satisfy our hunger, which had better food and service anyways 🤦🏻♀️ TERRIBLE
(Last visited 1/1/2023.) After celebrating New Year's Even in NYC, it's time to start the year off right, with mo' drankin'! Lol. We booked a brunch here at Taven29 because we loved it so much last time. Here's why! Atmosphere/Appearance: It's exactly a Tavern. They didn't lie in the name. Lol. Lots of light woods with a light, bubbly atmosphere. There are TVs behind the bar you can check out if you're here for a sporting event. Up front they have these super cute alcoves that you can sit in where you feel like you're separated from the rest of the restaurant. We sat here on our first visit, but at the bar on our 2nd. Service: I can't remember who took care of us either time, but we have never had an issue here, especially with having our bottomless mimosas refilled! Food: I've only had the wings here and I love them. Simple, straight to the point. The mimosas are also made to order so if you want light juice, just ask! We love that! Value: This place won't break the bank at all. Which is why it's so appealing. In conclusion, you'll likely see me here again! Make sure you check this place out if you're looking for a good brunch!
5 stars We visited here after being to the Intrepid museum and waiting for our time slot to do a evening river cruise . Perfect location ,fantastic cocktails, food was very tasty with big portions and bar staff were friendly ! Everything was reasonably priced too ! Highly recommend to anyone visiting NY !!
A friend told me I had to go here for a beer, and I showed up around 1pm. The bartender was friendly, the people there were friendly, the prices were reasonable and good beers/whiskies are definitely available. Felt very comfortable there by myself, trekking East across SoHo with my travel bag and overall scrubbiness... Will DEFINITELY go again next time.

Crowded on the weekend, we walked in around 1630. Food was okay, happy hour portions are tiny as their happy hour oysters. Vibe was great, service was great and attentive.

Great mixology here, great cocktails. I really enjoy having great conversations here. I come here often, and service has always been great. Prices are a bit reasonable for what you get, but it's a good time every time I'm in the Chinatown area. Great place!

Is this one of the overrated places? Minetta burger was good, but not great. Steak fries was ok, but not good. Large portions of fries for both dishes. Drinks for $23 are expensive. Good atmosphere and nice service. Cool local. Fun to have been there, but not an experience to carry on or that results we come back.

If you like feeling authentic without fanfare or self promotion, go here! The drinks are likely the best in the city! The ambience is so many levels of cool I can’t even. Try their small plates to share with friends and stay for a while. This bar seeps into you slowly and you’ll be changed by the experience.
