A small bar that’s congested and not atmospheric. Food and drinks is regular. The place is not worth a second visit.

Absolutely unacceptable service. From the moment we sat down, the facial expressions alone made it clear we were not welcome. Eye-rolling, visible irritation, and a dismissive attitude — all because we politely asked for five extra minutes before placing our order. The waiting time felt intentional. Staff repeatedly looked in our direction, made eye contact, and deliberately ignored us. It was obvious. There’s a difference between being busy and being purposely inattentive — this was the latter. What’s most shocking is the expectation of a generous tip after delivering hostile, unprofessional, and discourteous service. Gratuity reflects service — and there was nothing about this experience that earned one. For a place located in such a prime, vibrant city environment, the standard of hospitality was embarrassingly low. Customers deserve respect, not attitude. Do better. Thanks!

Added 26 Mar. 2026, after I'd waited a month for a reply to a complaint I submitted, which I did not receive: I'm sad to see that, like so many other once-quality businesses, Eataly seems to have become a victim of its own success: the more locations they open, the worse service becomes at the older locations, as if loyal customers were being taken for granted. On my last visit there, I was ignored for some 10 mins at the espresso counter, until a v nice young lady came by, apologised for the wait, and took my order -- apparently more than the three+ coworkers of hers who simply passed by without saying a word could be bothered or expected to do. That was the highlight of my visit, the rest of which was spent (or wasted) trying to pay for a few other items and waiting for someone to void out one of them (again, assistants were too busy chit-chatting and goofing around to even notice me waiting). Never going there again! *************************************************************************** Good variety, and service was courteous today -- which has often not been the case. Other downsides: a lot of items are overpriced, and some categories of merchandise are hard to find (no signs).

"This place has one of the best pool tables in the city! It's usually available, or there's just a quick wait. The atmosphere around the table is always super friendly and fun. My friends and I love coming here just for this! Definitely a solid 10/10!"

10 outta 10!!! Our first trip to Buffalo/Niagara Falls for our 25th anniversary and this was the best starter spot. Not busy for a Thursday night, but perfect for us. Super duper duper shout out to our server Jeff. When I tell you he was on point with EVERYTHING!. Food, drinks, conversation, suggestions, he was great. Go see him and tell him the House's sent you. Seriously, would recommend 10 outta 10. Great location, good food and drinks.

We enjoy celebrity chef restaurants, and a trip to the Big Apple with a free day inspired us to add another Tom Colicchio location. The name of the place is a bit confusing--the main restaurant is Temple Court, but they only serve dinner. We wanted lunch, and that's served at the associated Bar Room at the Beekman. But the menus and the receipts still say Temple Court. I don't see the rationale for different names. That said, we were seated for our reservation and, in the cold est day of winter so far, found the place uncomfortably chilly. It's located IN the Beekman Hotel, in a three-story Baroque revival room that's gorgeous but that suffers from inadequate HVAC. In particular, the arctic blast when both doors were open was oppressive. I've like to inspire the Beekman to install those overhead heat blowers that supermarkets have at their entrances. It also struck me that the decor was a little quirky as they'd hung several antique black-and-white photos that had been sparkles up with old applications of glitter. The music IN the background ranged from classic mainstream jazz to more modern stuff. I wonder if it's intentional, to reflect Chef Colicchio's style of putting contemporary twists on the classics? OK, those were the negatives. Everything else was super. We started NY sharing a crispy goat cheese appetizer. The mild goat cheese (chevre, I think), breaded and deep fried, lent little flavor but served as a base for more unctuous toppings--anchovy, Nicoise olives, caramelized onion, red pepper, wilted greens. The level of excellence I've always found at the four Colicchio restaurants I've enjoyed previously. NY entree was smoked duck. It was shredded and served in a bun--and the smoky flavor was profound. But even better, the plate had a salad or grilled greens (Romaine and maybe escarole?) dressed with a simple vinaigrette, and it was such perfection in its simplicity. My wife enjoyed her roast chicken salad and well. Colicchio's bartenders are always great at a craft cocktail. I got the Emily Roebling, a Rye cocktail similar to a Manhattan, and it was peppery and intense. I followed with their John J. Fitz Gerald, a bourbon cocktail that intrigued me since the foam no top was half white, and half brown, and I finally figured out to sip from the border to get both. So I went back to Emily for my third. NY wife went more traditional with a Cosmopolitan and then a great Sauvignon Blanc. Service was, as expected, professional. If they can resolve the HVAC issues, they'll approach perfection.

A bit odd. But I tried Tater Tots for the first time and they were nice. A good selection of beers too. Maybe we timed it wrong but there was no atmosphere whatsoever. We left after one drink.

Before taking in a show, we passed by the Celtic Pub and asked the owner if this place remains open late. He said kitchen closes at midnight and pub at 4am So after our show, we made our way back and were offered a table inside but we asked if we could sit outside with other customers and we were shown a lovely table for 2 by the manager. Shortly after we were seated at 10:50pm, Loudres came to take the order and made it a point to tell us that the kitchen would be shortly closing so we ordered the food and drinks. The drinks came and before we could even take the first sip, Loudres told us that we have to move inside because she was going to close the outside dining area to which we refused. She insisted that she needs to start stacking the furniture after a 14 hour shift. Our response was to cancel our order. Lourdes said it was too late to cancel the order and that we would have to pay now before the food arrives. We refused and insisted that she gets the manager. Loudres then said that if we stayed outside we would have to eat the food very fast. At this point we flagged down Liam, her manager and explained what had just happened. He apologized several times for the poor behaviour of Loudres and allowed us to stay and enjoy our meal at our pace outside. Whilst still eating the patio lights were switched off and we finished our food in the dark. Pity the bill already included a Tip but Liam took it upon himself to get us a free round of drinks. Cheers to the Irish and a big thumbs down to Loudres.

(Last visited 1/1/2023.) After celebrating New Year's Even in NYC, it's time to start the year off right, with mo' drankin'! Lol. We booked a brunch here at Taven29 because we loved it so much last time. Here's why! Atmosphere/Appearance: It's exactly a Tavern. They didn't lie in the name. Lol. Lots of light woods with a light, bubbly atmosphere. There are TVs behind the bar you can check out if you're here for a sporting event. Up front they have these super cute alcoves that you can sit in where you feel like you're separated from the rest of the restaurant. We sat here on our first visit, but at the bar on our 2nd. Service: I can't remember who took care of us either time, but we have never had an issue here, especially with having our bottomless mimosas refilled! Food: I've only had the wings here and I love them. Simple, straight to the point. The mimosas are also made to order so if you want light juice, just ask! We love that! Value: This place won't break the bank at all. Which is why it's so appealing. In conclusion, you'll likely see me here again! Make sure you check this place out if you're looking for a good brunch!

Great mixology here, great cocktails. I really enjoy having great conversations here. I come here often, and service has always been great. Prices are a bit reasonable for what you get, but it's a good time every time I'm in the Chinatown area. Great place!

We went to dinner late on a Friday night based on a friend’s recommendation and I made the rookie mistake of not making a reservation. Despite what looked like many open tables in the reserved section, our party of four was instead seated in a crowded area at a table for two. Not ideal but we dealt with it. Our server was awesome and the food we got was delicious. Highly recommend the short rib porter pie, the chicken pot pie, fish and chips, and lobster mac and cheese. We ordered some appetizers, but they showed up after our main courses, so there literally wasn’t anywhere to put the food, and we sent them back. Overall, I’d go back, but I would definitely make a reservation.

We had an early dinner here after a long day travelling to the city from the UK. It was super convenient as it’s over the road from the Rui hotel we stayed at. A traditional pub with a warm atmosphere and hearty no frills food. We enjoyed sausages and mash, shepherds pie and fish. Along with beers. We would definitely return.
