Bought a posh cheddar baguette, went to eat in the park, discovered the baguette was burnt and bitter, brought it back after a bite, thinking it would be an easy swap out, no problems. Was told that that’s how they are supposed to be and he wouldn’t swap it for me, then refunded it with a surly attitude and made me purchase the same item. Really poor customer service. Like a lot of reviews here, the atmosphere in the place is overly aggressive and made me feel uncomfortable.

I was looking forward to lunch at Spring with my friend who was in town from NYC but I must say how truly disappointed we were with the experience. I arrived at noon sharp for our booking so there were hardly any patrons inside the restaurant yet, however for some reason in this beautiful vast dining room I was swiftly shown to a booth table in the windowless corner. Given that it was a sunny day, I asked if we could possibly have one of the seats by the window, to which the manager quickly replied that those tables had been "reserved for MONTHS". While I find that very hard to believe, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt but noted that did not even offer to change us to one of the many open tables closer to the window. I asked to move again once my friend arrived and he quite rudely replied that now all of the tables for two were taken. We decided not to make more of a fuss since the manager was so unaccommodating, but we did observe that everyone who came after us was seated elsewhere, and those seated by the window all seemed to personally know the manager. We remained the only people in the windowless booth area for the 2.5 hours we dined there - and, coincidentally, the only patrons of colour. Although our waitress was sweet and the food and cocktails were nice enough, we certainly wouldn't return - there are so many amazing restaurants in London who know how to make their customers feel welcomed and valued!

A lovely historic French restaurant in Soho. The escargots were excellent and the atmosphere felt very classic and cosy. Service was warm and relaxed. Definitely a great place if you want good French food without an overly formal fine dining experience.

After a fantastic experience at Cicchetti in Piccadilly Circus some time ago, I recommended we visit the new restaurant on a trip from Scotland with friends. 1. not made to feel welcome. 2. when asked about drinks we asked for water but the waiter disappeared before we had chance to order wine. We had to keep asking to order. 3. the “music” was so loud that a conversation was impossible. Not amenable to a request to reduce volume. A quieter area wasn’t offered. 4. food arrived and we were asked if we would like Parmesan - yes. Our food was cold before it appeared despite several requests to the waiters. 5. white wine bottle was left on table. Other customers had coolers. The Ivy at London Bridge had everything that Cicchetti didn’t.

2nd visit to this restaurant and dinner was amazing again. The service is good but the food is outstanding. The flavours are excellent and they can adjust the spices of the food to your liking. Both times we have turned up as walk in diners, but it might be worth booking if you were considering going for a particular date and time as the restaurant does get extremely busy. This place is a real gem with so many big chain restaurants nearby and we will definitely be back again soon

I was so looking forward to this meal having spent £250 on a ‘Dinner Extravaganza for two’ voucher for my husband and I as a gift. On arrival we stated we had a voucher and were seated and left for about 10 minutes. The waiter then came over and asked if we were ready to order. I explained that we had the Dinner Extravaganza voucher and he took my phone to show the voucher to a colleague and came back with the promised champagne on arrival… then disappeared again for another 5 mins. The voucher promised wine pairings by their sommelier with each course but he said we could just choose so we did. I ordered 6 snails to start and the beef tournedos for main course and he said I couldn’t have that as it was an expensive main. I queried this as the voucher stated we could have anything from the à la carte menu and he walked away. When he returned he said it was ok. The starters were great. My snails and my husbands foie gras. Our mains were good. Mine was delicious but my husbands was tough. There was no salt in the grinder so my husband asked for some more. It was brought to us but was empty. I. Couldn’t get anyone’s attention so went to the bar and asked for another one and felt like I was being difficult. I was told it was full but I demonstrated that there was no salt coming out. They gave me another… this was also empty. We had to chase the wine for our next course too. Our water wasn’t topped up and really we just felt ignored the whole evening, and any requests left us feeling like we were a real inconvenience. I’d had high hopes and travelled to London for what the voucher promised to be an evening of pampering. We were offered to coffee but by that time, we just wanted to get out. Really sad as the food itself was generally really good - especially the chocolate soufflé. The service was just so poor.

Went with 3 friends and when we walked in no one was there to greet us which was fine because the restaurant seemed busy. 4 older men walked in after us and as the lady came to greet us they started complaining very rudely how they were waiting there for ages (not true) and were absolutely horrible to this lady. Everyone inside the restaurant was shocked at how these men were talking to her and even some of them apologized that she had to be treated like that. After all, the manager (i assume) came to us and i asked for a table for 4 and she, very rudely said "You will have to wait, but you need to wait outside because I cant have you here in the middle of the way". He went outside to wait and watched as the men that came after us were allowed to wait inside and after a few minutes they were directed to a table. We went inside to tell them that we were there first and none of us had a reservation (we heard these men say). This lady, an older lady with short hair said to us "well you were outside so i sat them first". She kept arguing with us, zero professionalism. When I was explaining to her the whole situation she said "Do you want to keep talking or do you want to sit down?". She was completely horrible to us, the only reason i sat down was because it was my friends birthday trip otherwise i would've turned around and left. When she sat us down she was saying somethings in Italian under her breathe. Everyone around us that was also waiting for a table was baffled at her lack of professionalism and how she couldn't handle a situation she completely lost control of. She let those men inside after they were horrible to her staff, sent us outside to wait and let them stay because she knew she couldn't tell them/speak to them how she spoke to me and my friends. The whole situation was disgusting. Food was mid also so I am never coming back or recommend this place to anyone.

This is a centrally located restaurant which we chose for our birthday celebrations. The restaurant had a good atmosphere with friendly and attentive staff. The food was tasty and arrived in good time considering it was a busy Saturday night. We had a positive experience at this restaurant and would recommend.
