10 people at the bar at 8pm on a Saturday night and the bartender was “slammed”. Waited to order drinks for 15 minutes and when she finally came over she refused to make some shots for our group so we asked for something much easier, a lemon drop, and she said “wow, you’re really set on that aren’t you?”. WTH? Yeah, drinks are almost 20 bucks in this town and you weren’t even that slammed in a half-empty bar.

A cozy wine bar with good happy hour specials. The service matched the european vibe (not very attentive), we had to flag someone down to ask for everything (water glasses, utensils to eat the food we ordered, ect). Unlike Europe, had to convince the server to get bread (only comes with certain orders). Happy hour oysters were nice but did have bits of broken shell. Chipped wine glasses.

A small bar that’s congested and not atmospheric. Food and drinks is regular. The place is not worth a second visit.

"This place has one of the best pool tables in the city! It's usually available, or there's just a quick wait. The atmosphere around the table is always super friendly and fun. My friends and I love coming here just for this! Definitely a solid 10/10!"

A bit odd. But I tried Tater Tots for the first time and they were nice. A good selection of beers too. Maybe we timed it wrong but there was no atmosphere whatsoever. We left after one drink.

AVOID. We came here for a jazz brunch for our anniversary a couple of months ago whilst on holiday in New York. We booked a table for 1pm but had to wait - standing in our coats by the door - for 20mins as our table wasn’t ready. We ordered a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate and after 45mins of waiting we still didn’t get the drink (we asked the waiters 3 times for it). The food was overpriced and bland. The steak tartare smelled of fish and the main course came cold and looked like it was ready for about 30mins before it was served to us. The jazz was supposed to be from 1pm to 3pm but they only played one 45mins set instead. After all that it was impossible to get a check so we had to stand up and pay by the bar. Absolutely awful experience, It really ruined our day and put a dent in the wallet. It’s such a shame as the interiors are stunning. I can’t believe we still got charged for our meal after all this. we barely touched the good and had to get McDonalds after to satisfy our hunger, which had better food and service anyways 🤦🏻‍♀️ TERRIBLE

Being an tourist in NYC and in a small group of 6, we decided to visit the Brooklyn Bridge, and needed a recharge and visited this establishment. However, I’ve never been in a place where there was an atmosphere, boarding on discrimination due to the fact that we were tourist, and there was selective seating despite the regulars not being in and no reserve sign being placed on the table. The Bar attendant was distant, unprofessional and clearly didn’t like us being in the place, despite us being a group of six, who just wanted to order some refreshments. Some of the group felt his persona was unpleasant, together with rudeness throughout. I’d certainly recommend anyone who isn’t a regular avoid this place - try Starbucks a little further up the road. Everyone in NYC has been pleasant, helpful and we absolutely adore the city, but this place needs a change in management. Very disappointed.

We enjoy celebrity chef restaurants, and a trip to the Big Apple with a free day inspired us to add another Tom Colicchio location. The name of the place is a bit confusing--the main restaurant is Temple Court, but they only serve dinner. We wanted lunch, and that's served at the associated Bar Room at the Beekman. But the menus and the receipts still say Temple Court. I don't see the rationale for different names. That said, we were seated for our reservation and, in the cold est day of winter so far, found the place uncomfortably chilly. It's located IN the Beekman Hotel, in a three-story Baroque revival room that's gorgeous but that suffers from inadequate HVAC. In particular, the arctic blast when both doors were open was oppressive. I've like to inspire the Beekman to install those overhead heat blowers that supermarkets have at their entrances. It also struck me that the decor was a little quirky as they'd hung several antique black-and-white photos that had been sparkles up with old applications of glitter. The music IN the background ranged from classic mainstream jazz to more modern stuff. I wonder if it's intentional, to reflect Chef Colicchio's style of putting contemporary twists on the classics? OK, those were the negatives. Everything else was super. We started NY sharing a crispy goat cheese appetizer. The mild goat cheese (chevre, I think), breaded and deep fried, lent little flavor but served as a base for more unctuous toppings--anchovy, Nicoise olives, caramelized onion, red pepper, wilted greens. The level of excellence I've always found at the four Colicchio restaurants I've enjoyed previously. NY entree was smoked duck. It was shredded and served in a bun--and the smoky flavor was profound. But even better, the plate had a salad or grilled greens (Romaine and maybe escarole?) dressed with a simple vinaigrette, and it was such perfection in its simplicity. My wife enjoyed her roast chicken salad and well. Colicchio's bartenders are always great at a craft cocktail. I got the Emily Roebling, a Rye cocktail similar to a Manhattan, and it was peppery and intense. I followed with their John J. Fitz Gerald, a bourbon cocktail that intrigued me since the foam no top was half white, and half brown, and I finally figured out to sip from the border to get both. So I went back to Emily for my third. NY wife went more traditional with a Cosmopolitan and then a great Sauvignon Blanc. Service was, as expected, professional. If they can resolve the HVAC issues, they'll approach perfection.

(Last visited 1/1/2023.) After celebrating New Year's Even in NYC, it's time to start the year off right, with mo' drankin'! Lol. We booked a brunch here at Taven29 because we loved it so much last time. Here's why! Atmosphere/Appearance: It's exactly a Tavern. They didn't lie in the name. Lol. Lots of light woods with a light, bubbly atmosphere. There are TVs behind the bar you can check out if you're here for a sporting event. Up front they have these super cute alcoves that you can sit in where you feel like you're separated from the rest of the restaurant. We sat here on our first visit, but at the bar on our 2nd. Service: I can't remember who took care of us either time, but we have never had an issue here, especially with having our bottomless mimosas refilled! Food: I've only had the wings here and I love them. Simple, straight to the point. The mimosas are also made to order so if you want light juice, just ask! We love that! Value: This place won't break the bank at all. Which is why it's so appealing. In conclusion, you'll likely see me here again! Make sure you check this place out if you're looking for a good brunch!

As locals, we love to support local businesses and find gems in the neighborhood. Unfortunately, Printemps hugely misses the mark. We had a party of 4 for a 5:30 PM booking, but there was no table available. We were asked to wait, which was no issue, until around 20 minutes passed, and our party was forgotten. Upon returning to the host stand, the new host was unaware of the situation, and we were then sat as if this was an absolutely acceptable occurrence. After being sat, it took quite some time for a server to approach our table for orders, and then it was as if our table was completely forgotten the rest of the evening. After plates had been cleared and our party was sitting for an extended period of time, we had to ask for the check - of which left our table with two cards and returned with one. Upon letting the staff know, the card was found, and albeit apologetic, we were informed this happens often due to the check holder design. Concerning, to say the very least. The food and drink were great, but for the prices and appearance that Printemps sets forth, the experience was entirely unacceptable. We will not be coming back any time soon and will be advising our friends of this unfortunate experience to hopefully save them from the same.

During a busy christmas period walking around New york, we spotted Connolly's bar and thought, Great an irish bar, previously living in Chicago i thought you cant go wrong with a proper traditional irish bar (I was wrong) we asked if we could just sit at the bar and have a few drinks, they were very accomodating, we asked what the procedures were to go outside for a cigarette, I was told I needed to put my card behind the bar or set up tab, willingly i did, came back inside and had another 2 beers with my partner, when we decided to leave, we asked to settle the tab by cash, we gave a good tip and offered to buy some of the staff a drink, we are talking about a $90 bar tab without tip, two days later i saw that they had charged my card used to set the tab up,Credit Card Company told me because i entered my pin in to the device to set the tab up, i was not able to retrive any of the monies back, I have contaced Conollys several time via email, and nothing was done about it, I just feel they took adventage of tourists, so I would take caution to setting up TABS in this bar

We had an early dinner here after a long day travelling to the city from the UK. It was super convenient as it’s over the road from the Rui hotel we stayed at. A traditional pub with a warm atmosphere and hearty no frills food. We enjoyed sausages and mash, shepherds pie and fish. Along with beers. We would definitely return.
