A tight spot for lunch, fills up quickly and can be quite loud. The food was good (winterlicious) but not out of this world.
After waiting 45 minutes for our order we found out they lost it, after re ordering and waiting again the sushi was very sub par. very loud too. The booth seats were extremely uncomfortable
Am extremely sad to report that the boy in cashier desk sounds racist. Poor service and selective good service for certain groups of people
A FANTASTIC PLACE WITH AWESOME SERVICE BY THE PRETTY ELISHA THE PORTIONS WERE GREAT AND QUIET.
A bit noisy but beautiful food. They are prompt, friendly, and courtesy.
After Raptors game, we came to eat at Sansotei. I was surprised that it was delicious Tonkotsu black ramen. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is quiet and clean.
15 years ago this was a nice, gentlemans and lady hangout. Thick carpets, big chairs, older experienced waiters, great food. Today it's run by snarky millenial managers, belligerent waitresses, crowded with loud drugged up rich punks and the food is mediocre at best. Did Drake buy them out? Definitely not worth the hundreds of bucks you'll drop for a dinner here. $23+tax+tip for a gin and soda. Oysters are sub par for sure. Too bad, this used to be a classic. Not anymore. Don't get trapped by the fancy entrance. Avoid this place. Coming from a Toronto steakhouse connoisseur.
2nd visit, came back because the food is very good and the service was acceptable for the Danforth. We arrived last night at around 6, lots of empty tables and they asked us if we had reservations which we didn't and were promptly seated at the back of the restaurant right next to the wait areas and kitchen even though there were plenty of empty tables. The area was very noisy they were busy but not crazy busy. The waiter came promptly probably to get us out quick because we finished at 6:45. He wasn't very personable and didn't seem to recognize my daughter asked for a salad for her main course but he brought her salad at the same time as mine and my wife's, but didn't bring huge complementary bread and butter that all the other tables were gettig. Our main courses arrived fried Calimari for me and chicken breast for my wife both were excellent. The waiter had a look at out table but didn't bother to ask how our dinner tasted our if my wife would like a refill for her drink, we had to ask someone else for the refill. Fast forward to asking for the cheque he brought the machine I punched in the 15% tip even though I should not have, he teared the receipt left it on the table without even looking at us and saying thank you or have a nice evening. That's a first even when I've had bad service the server always made an attempt to seem grateful but not this guy. On my out I told the hostess the waiter didn't say thank you or to enjoy our night. She feigned surprise but I saw a lineup of people waiting to get in and understand where the ENTLEMENT comes from, they are busy even though there service level sucks. Too bad I won't be making a return visit but will be sure to recount my experience to friends and family and hopefully they will tell others.
6 of us had a 7:30 reservation on a Friday. We were seated upstairs promptly. Drinks were ordered and arrived eventually. They didn't have several wines or beers on the menu but offered something similar. Drinks were expensive. The pasta dishes were lukewarm and fair at best. I had a pizza which was pretty good. There were several larger groups upstairs and it was very noisy. Perhaps that is why the service was so slow. It was an okay experience, but we will go elsewhere in the city to look for Italian food.
A big space (old warehouse maybe?) that manages to feel intimate due to the wonderful service (think all main course plates being place at once, in front of guests). I started with elk carpaccio, then on to yellow fin tuna with potato, french beans, taggiasche olives, quail egg and anchovy black olive aioli. The apple fritter with warm caramel sauce instantly made your next trip to a donut store irrelevant. You'd never want to have the take-out version again. Woods is a quiet space with lots of space between tables. A nice place for a date or business meal.
A colleague and I had dinner here after a conference recently and the waiter offered to prepare our meals off the menu. Our appetizer was risotto with truffles - delicious. I had a huge veal chop seasoned with very tasty herbs. And a glass of red wine whose name I didn't note. And for dessert - a piece of cheesecake in phyllo dough. A really delicious meal. A bit expensive overall but worth it for a special occasion or a quiet business conversation.
Absolutely loved this place, hidden away and fairly unassuming but once your in the atmosphere is great, excellent music at the perfect volume, lovely pieces of art on the wall. The service was perfect and the food even better. We didn't book and were lucky to get a table, would recommend booking. Couldn't fault it. Recommend the meatballs.

Got the winterlicious for the first try. Everything was very well cooked. It’s above expectations for a set meal. For the place, it was really busy even on weekdays, so a bit noisy. They also have a lot of cost effective menu selections. Will return for other choices for sure.

Lydia was our server. Efficient and friendly. Busy night for a Tuesday. Cactus Club is a well oiled service machine. Rave music is not for everyone and tables close together. Frozen Sangria was excellent. Bellini good but the size has shrunk over the years.

Had a really nice time and the service and atmosphere was spot on. It was loud in the sense that everyone was talking and laughing. You didn't feel anyone could here what you were talking about lol..which I love as I have a loud voice..food was really good. Enjoyed a freshly grilled tuna salad. Portion sizes varied as to what you ordered. Drinks were amazing. On the higher end of pricing. Would recommend
