10/12/24 20:30: My partner's 40th Birthday celebrations took a bit of a nose dive as the restaurant we had booked at were experiencing unforeseen problems, so with availability on the open-table reservation site and just around the corner, Kyloe looked like a great option. We were freezing cold so the stunning Christmas decorations outside, a warm, cosy yet lively atmosphere we thought we found a winner. How wrong we were. Didn't even get to or want to experience the food or drink thanks to the pompous, arrogant, self-worthy attitude of the front of house gentleman that told us yes, he could fit us and in no more or no less words: "can you get off opentable" (I had the page still open on my phone). Then we're shown to a table and politely asked about the midweek 'Steak me out' offer still live on the homepage of their website at the time of this review. "That finished months ago". That was it. No apology, no explanation. Just walked off. From walking in and his arrogant 'why are you bothering us' type attitude we immediately felt like we didn't want to give this establishment any of our money, let alone celebrate my partner's 40th here. The next lady who came to us further explained it was the marketing company that need to update the website (I don't know how in this day and age that takes over a month to do) and went on to inform us they did have a Christmas menu offer on and apologised that we should have had a card on our table to know this. She was perfectly polite but we were already done, beautiful restaurant, cosy vibe, but sour taste in our mouth from the unwarmest of greetings had us get up and leave. We had to walk another 15 minutes, but went and had the warmest welcome, amazing food and service at Cote Brasserie instead and celebrated the night away there.
After waiting a year from having to cancel last Dec we were extremely disappointed. Aside from the maitre d and sommelier who were great, the service was not what I expect or have experienced of a high end hotel before. Servers were struggling to remember what the dishes were. The food was ok but not what was expected with some dishes being good and others not. Given the price tag, suboptimal and not nearly worth the money. Had to take a 6.30pm table as no others apparently but half the restaurant was empty and this was a Fri eve 16/12! Not much atmosphere. Would not go again. After spending £450 on the tasting menu and drinks felt somewhat cheated and wished we had chosen somewhere else!
£23 for a naan bread and a king prawn curry (maybe 5 prawns) - that doesn’t include any drinks or service - in a very average setting. Standard “British” curry house, nothing special, maybe they think they can charge what they like as they are close to Haymarket and Murrayfield. I wouldn’t go back
10 years passed unnoticed, and here we are again - in Edinburgh whisky experience. New faces of the guides, but the barrel for the visitors remained the same. While moving along the rails we smelled the familiar notes of malt. The whisky museum delighted us by the both dusty bottles number and their age. What was the new for us in 10 years break? As it turned out, the new Scottish whisky area (the fifth one!) appeared on the whisky stage: Campbeltown. «Why?» - we asked our guide. «For the historical reasons» - was the answer. Ok, understood: the more whiskies the more interesting life. And also during the tour they paid more attention on the difference between malt and blended whiskies. Then Amber restaurant’s turn came. In fact, we were delighted with the meal set offered as well as whiskies’ list itself. Let alone our colorful waiter appeared to be a great football fan. Fantastic. What else will they come up in 10 years?
10/10 service, food and atmosphere. Raffaello was a legend waiter. We will be back for more again soon. Great wine and the pasta is so fresh.

A restaurant with a beautiful view. Atmospheric, the food was very good, although we waited 55 minutes for the main courses. The restrooms were dirty and the water was cold. As for the room service, it was a disaster. The behavior of Ms. Anto (the room manager) was unacceptable. She had no manners and was completely clueless about basic customer service. She completely ruined the charm of the place. I wouldn't recommend her because of her.
All my previous experience was good but the moment they began catering to halal this became a big no for me. Halal isn't just no pork, it is a cruel & barbaric method of slaughter that does nothing to prevent harm to animals whilst simultaneously claiming that prayers take away all the animal's pain & suffering. Catering to halal diets is frankly an act akin to treason in the UK & after years eating here I'll never set foot back into any making & Ramen.
Arrived to the restaurant to find there was no heating on and it was cold and rather stark inside( minimal decoration for December and only one other couple eating) we shivered throughout our time there. Interesting that despite wine glasses on the table the restaurant had NO wine on its drink menu…it had all been scored out. They had a few spirits on a shelf, but no proper mixers. Oddly they did have champagne 🤷♀️. All very odd. We were told we could walk to a local shop ( in pelting rain) and get some. We did. It was closed. Food was mediocre, zero ambience despite staff being friendly. I have a feeling this place won’t exist next December!
10 out 10! Small and intimate setting with incredible food and atmosphere! We plan on coming back before we leave Edinburgh.
A beautifully relaxing atmosphere with comfy leather benches. The Sunday roast was the best roast I've had in a long time. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent, especially from Lottie who cut my meat up for me as I'm recovering from surgery . Thanks guys 💓
Abdul's service is excellent!! Very good food and a very good atmosphere.

I write this review to express my deep disappointment and disbelief at the appalling level of customer “service” we’ve just experienced. As regulars who’ve always spoken highly of you - to friends, family, and right here on TripAdvisor - this latest encounter was downright insulting. We received a Virgin Signature Tasting Experience voucher as a Christmas gift and booked a table for 4pm on Saturday several days in advance. In the notes, I clearly stated we’d be using the voucher and asked to swap the cod dish due to a severe fish allergy. After being chased by multiple emails demanding the voucher number and PIN, I then received a voicemail - less than 24 hours before our booking - that can only be described as a lecture. I never even spoke to this colleague directly, yet she took it upon herself to deliver a condescending voicemail *chastising* us for supposedly booking the “wrong” time, insisting we couldn’t attend before 5pm. She went on to say that because we had a voucher, we must eat exactly what’s on the set menu - meaning we’d be expected to eat cod, despite my clear note about a severe fish allergy that could land one of us in hospital. To finish, she smugly suggested we could still come at 4pm and eat from the brunch menu - not as a the to using the voucher, but as if that was an acceptable solution. The entire interaction was rude, dismissive, and completely lacking in professionalism or common sense. What should have been a special experience turned into an infuriating ordeal. I cancelled the booking on the spot and will seriously think twice before ever returning. I’m now asking Virgin Experience Days to transfer our voucher to another venue - somewhere that actually values its customers and understands what good service means.

Avoid food isn't good fantastic decor if you want a pic for Instagram but the food unfortunately isn't. I overpriced heard the waitress radio het team leader explaining that all the chicken well I use that term loosely we had was left on a side plate but she was clearly told to do or say nothing about it witch is shocking service considering they added a complimentary service charge again all i can say is if you like food find somewhere else.
