"Traveling musicians and we needed a place to stay. MCSF is a great go to for a work weekend playing shows in SF. Close by all night parking garage next door. We booked the stay and play package which offers 50 percent off the practice room rate. The hotel reservation system is easier to connect via online and email reply is quick. Also you can check in and check out online too. The hotel is upstairs..literally up stairs get ready to haul all your stuff up. All the rooms are inspired by musicians and the hallways are a virtual tour of great musicians. It's a shared bathroom situation for the most part there are a couple of rooms that have private. We had a late check in and we just told the front desk we were going to be late they were super cool about it. The room "Stevie Nicks" was standard came with 2 towels, a couple of hangers in the closet, tv, and mini soap, and an amp in the room with a cord which was cool. Next to the shared bathroom. It was a bit noisy at certain times but to be expected. One of the shared bathroom doors lock was preventing a smooth closure so it was a lot of slamming and one of the showers handle was broken so turning the shower on and off was wonky they should probably replace the handle. The practice room was nice it was a small room with a 5150 guitar amp and and orange bass amp, we borrowed a couple mics from the front desk. Plus it came with a fan. Very clean and updated. The practice space bathrooms were very nice. The bummer was that their onsite coffee bar was closed we were told they ran out of coffee but were told that we could use the morning coffee offering upstairs in the hotel which we saw on the way out it was a bit confusing because the disposable cups are located in the lounge room separate from the coffee we found that out from the front desk. We had a successful overnight and definitely like that this is a great resource. Great price point for the working musician."

"Basic rooms in a pretty convenient location. Prices are reasonable. Our room was clean and the bed was good enough. No air conditioning (in the summer) and it was very difficult to open the windows to get some fresh air."

"2 guys of the staff are very friendly and welcoming: the one when we arrived and the one working on evening/night time! (An other one not particularly) We had private bathroom & toilets eventhough outside of the room (just in front!) Good location by the way!"

"After reading all the reviews, I was honestly scared to stay at this hotel. They made check-in sound horrible and customer service seem terrible. I was so close to canceling and just losing my money to book somewhere else. But my friend and I decided to at least stop by, check out the area, and see for ourselves before making that decision. I’m someone who usually only stays at Marriott and Hilton properties, and I’m very picky about where I stay. With that being said, this hotel was not bad at all. In fact, I would have to disagree with many of the negative reviews. Our check-in and checkout experience were both great. Ben checked us in and was so friendly and welcoming. Later, when we went downstairs to pick up our Uber Eats order, we met another staff member named Z (we told him his nickname for us is “Zeke”). He was such a great worker — very friendly, professional, and easy to talk to. We ended up having a really nice conversation with him while waiting for our food, with lots of laughs. It made the stay feel even more welcoming. There was security on-site all night long. You need your room key just to enter the building, and there was security both inside and outside, which made us feel safe. Yes, there was some sand on the carpet near the elevators, but with thousands of guests coming through, that’s to be expected. All of the elevators were working, which was a plus. There isn’t a bar on-site, but that wasn’t a big deal for us. The rooms were perfectly fine. The beds are a little lower to the ground, but they were comfortable. I actually brought my own cleaning supplies and wiped everything down before unpacking, and I was very surprised at how clean everything was. My Clorox wipes came up clean — there was no dirt at all. Overall, our stay was much better than expected. The hotel felt safe, clean, and welcoming. I’m really glad we decided to give it a chance instead of just going by the reviews."
