4.8/5? No idea how that's possible. We arrived at 5:35 PM. We were told they opened at 6:00 PM. (It says 5:30 PM on the door and on Google). Upon returning, no one at the counter. We could see people behind the kitchen doors. Even other customers tried to get attention and no one came out. We ordered on the machine, but the menu was not the same as at the counter. No curly fries, and misleading AI photos. No one came out until the food was ready. I ordered an extra 2 chicken tenders, I was told it was in my burger... With chicken. The extra mac n cheese tasted like water... We will not be returning. No music or ambiance.
A Delicious Detour at Chennai Express** Ambiance: Sharing a space with other restaurants means seating is more "musical chairs" than fine dining Parking? Forget about it, it's a treasure hunt. But hey, who needs ambience when you have dosas this good? Food: Forget your fancy tablecloths, Chennai Express is all about the taste. Their dosas are the real deal - the crispiest, most flavorful I've had in Montreal in ages. The sambhar and coconut chutney are the perfect sidekicks to this South Indian symphony. Service: Be prepared for a wait - it's a one-man show here! But the dude taking orders, prepping food, and managing everything else is a saint. Super polite and calm, even with the pressure on. Overall: It's a culinary pit stop with a few bumps along the road. But if you're craving a delicious and authentic dosa experience, Chennai Express is worth the wait (and the parking hunt). Just don't forget your patience!
A family outing for a birthday celebration, the service was too slow the dishes came without sides you had to order the dishes and also your side dish the waitress was very nice and attentive no meal planned for children not even an alternative, the atmosphere was very cold for my taste
1 star for the decor and 1 star for the location. Slow service, it took 30 minutes for our drinks to be served and one hour to get our food. Ok alcohol. Meh food. I dont think I would order them even at half of its price Expensive: I suggest to have one appetizer and one main meal. If not, you might need to grab something else afterwards. And thumbs down for the automatic tips options that start at 18% after tax
1st time here and it's validated Super delicious and generous Nice atmosphere Great service We'll be back
3 floors of wonderfully decorated interior.
A rather surprisingly creative table but on a gastronomic level, it is depressingly poor! The duck breast was served cold and was as hard as a boot sole; only protein intake from a six-course meal. For the rest, Lilliputian portions: a few leaves or pieces of vegetables to feed the children. A meal accompanied by the deafening atmosphere of a low-end bistro, with small tables and uncomfortable chairs. The service was cadaverously slow. Went in at 7:30 p.m., we left at 11:00 p.m. all sore. In short, it's extremely expensive for what it is.
A totally gluten free menu, we were excited to try Arepara after reading other reviews. We found the restaurant clean, with interesting decor (that wasn’t Venezuelan), service was quite good (despite an error making change when paying the bill), and an interesting menu. We have eaten and enjoyed food in and from a number of Latin American cuisines. Perhaps Our limited previous encountering of Venezuelan food was atypical and it is supposed to be bland. Good textures, but little aromatic seasoning. One of the two table sauces did have a bit of a kick, though only a hint. Nothing was bad, just mildly disappointing after reading the reviews, emphasis n the ‘mild’
Actually the worst... I was so excited for this brunch as I am VERY obsessed with brunch. I have been to several brunch places in my area that are by far better than this place. "Cool" ambiance clearly over hyped. I don't go to restaurants for the mood but the food. My food came cold, the service was absent. My cappuccino was the worst cappuccino I have had in Canada so far. So expensive for what the food was, i had classic eggs, potatoes and pancake. It was actually the worst I've had, out of all the other places I've tried. I'm so disappointed in this place I've taken the time to write this review. I can't believe people actually line up for hours on the weekend to eat here.
Great food! Great service - Thank you Alex! We didn’t have a reservation but was fortunate enough to get a seat at a high top table shared by others. Food was excellent especially the Jackfruit Burger. Decor and atmosphere awesome! Will definitely go again!
Toqué has an elegant interior with well-spaced out tables; the resulting noise level is low making for easy conversation. We chose the à la carte menu instead of the tasting menu. Initially, we found dishes such as the veal carpaccio and suckling pig loin to be flavorful, however, the more we sampled the dishes the more we found them to be somewhat confusing to the palate. There were too many different flavors and ingredients that did not mix well when eaten together, which is why we have given this otherwise excellent restaurant a four-star rating. The wine list is extensive and varied, with many high-quality wines available by the glass using the Coravin system. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helped us with good suggestions from the Coravin choices. This allowed us to individually pair interesting wines with different dishes. Overall, the service was professional and efficient, while also being helpful and friendly.
We enjoyed a delicious, romantic dinner out first night in Montreal. We followed other Trip Advisor recommendations to reserve here and thoroughly enjoyed our evening. The restaurant’s decor certainly felt like a cozy cabin and that was met with warm, attentive service from Kyle and staff. The special cocktails were outstanding including the maple old fashion. The wine list was also fanciful. The warm beet and feta salad was a wonderful start. Our entrees of cod and duck were memorable We would highly recommend L’Orignal for a beautiful Montreal experience.

Exquisite decor and top-tier service from Jonathan and Julian define this elegant spot. Chefs Kevin and Donald deliver a superb lobster risotto and mushroom soup. However, lowering the loud contemporary music for classical would better match the atmosphere.

I recently celebrated a birthday at Dorsia in Old Port, and the entire experience truly exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we had stepped into a Michelin-star restaurant in the heart of Paris. The atmosphere is elegant and refined, creating the perfect setting for a special occasion. As for the food, it was absolutely unbelievable. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, clearly crafted with care and precision. I would highly recommend Dorsia to anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience in Old Montreal. It’s the perfect spot for celebrating something special or simply enjoying an exceptional night out.

THE GOOD: Really friendly front-of-house person and waiters. Delicious food (I had the lamb). THE BAD: Unexpectedly, our dinner featured a singer. He did 2 or 3 sets, circulating between the tables. Nicely sung jazz standards and vintage French chansons. Thing is, the sound system was so loud that we had difficulty carrying on our conversation. We were there to eat and chat, not to attend a concert. I spoke to the person who seemed to be in charge and politely requested that he turn the volume down. He said this was impossible as the sound system was "parametrisé". I pointed out that this did not sound plausible, and anyway that we, not the singer, were the paying customers. This did not change his mind, so I said I would leave a bad review.
