All atmosphere and hype, little substance. Messy waffle sandwich came smothered in maple syrup. Great! Messy... no worries, I was provided cutlery. BOGEY: a plastic knife? To cut through two waffles? But a metal fork? Drip coffee, when ordered, made no request of milk and sugar. Served black, I looked for the creamer station. Surprise! You have to bring it to the counter to get the paper sugar packets that should have been on the table, and your creamer will be poured for you in a bizarre interaction. Bathrooms require a secret code to enter. Recommended if you want to have breakfast in a minimum security prison.

Atmosphere: cool but whatever like I just want a coffee. Staff & experience: I was ready to order and nobody was at register. I should’ve left. Someone eventually came in, guess he was cleaning because he had a mop, he then takes my order and makes my iced latte without washing his hands and no gloves. He hands me the drink with his hands all over the top of the cup and puts a lid face down on the table. Such bad hygiene. I sit down with my very dark iced latte that looks like an iced coffee (it was so bitter). And there’s now a smell traveling I guess bc the mop water was leaking all over the store when he came in. It smells rancid. Like a dumpster or something rotting. I just left. Terrible. Needs more staff and well experienced baristas. And some hygiene trainings.

☕️💬 Bean & Bean – Had potential, but didn’t quite warm our hearts Today my husband and I were walking through the Financial District 🏙️, enjoying the day, and looking for a quiet place to take a break and have a coffee. We found Bean & Bean, and while it looked promising from the outside — simple, a bit nostalgic — the experience inside left us feeling a bit disappointed. When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was how old and untouched everything felt — from the front doors to the furniture. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, and I understand some might call it “vintage charm,” but to us, it felt more like the café hadn’t evolved in years. Even the cups were the most basic takeout kind — no brand, no detail, no personal touch 🥤 We ordered our drinks and took a seat. But then… nothing. ❌ No one asked for a name. ❌ No one explained the pickup process. ❌ No one let us know our coffee was ready. We just sat there, unsure of what to expect. I eventually went up to ask, and our drinks were already sitting there — cold. No one called us, no one brought them over, and no one checked in. Even though it was clear we were waiting. It may sound small, but these moments matter. When you go for coffee, especially in a city like New York, you’re often craving not just caffeine — but a little kindness, a bit of energy, some warmth. The coffee itself? Honestly, forgettable. Just… okay. And that would’ve been fine, if the experience felt more connected. But it didn’t. 💡 So if you’re just grabbing a quick caffeine fix and don’t mind an impersonal vibe, this might do the job. But if you’re looking for atmosphere, care, and attention — you may want to look elsewhere. ⭐️ Rating: 2/5 — we wanted more than just coffee 👉 DO NOT RECOMMEND 🚫 (Personally mine)

A few months ago, in Barcelona, everybody started talking about a local bakery that sells the new trending pastry in NYC: a round croissant filled with pistachio. I have never had the opportunity to try it out and, to be honest, that does not sound too appealing to me: in my opinion, a croissant must be shaped like a 🌙 and, most of all, it must be plain! (or it’s a cornetto…) But again, when we arrived in NYC, we didn't know anything about the city anymore, so we checked on the Internet. I looked for salty food and my wife looked for sweets (well, I did look for ice creams and doughnuts myself, to be fair) and she found Lafayette, the original “inventor” of this round pastry (they call it Suprême, btw, but it’s… a croissant). First, we had to queue (under the rain!) for about 20 minutes to get inside just to order to go... While we were queuing, we could see through the Windows all the "content creators" inside showing a camera how much they were enjoying their Suprême: sad. Once inside, I was amazed by... the darkness of the venue. I couldn't even see what I was ordering. Honestly, I knew what I was coming for, otherwise, I couldn't have known what to order... they don't want us to see what we eat? That's a shame because, when I got used to the darkness, I could guess that the venue actually looked very nice. I sincerely don't know why they don't turn the light on. So the clerk at the counter told us about the 4 flavors available that day and we picked pistachio and the seasonal: Suprême de Noël. I must say that the pistachio Suprême was very good, at least the half where there was cream. The other half was just like a regular croissant, a good one but nothing from another world either. The Suprême de Noël was not that good, the cream was too thick, I guess to make it seem like an actual "bûche" but that didn't fit the Suprême so much. Don't get me wrong, it was not bad, but for $10 a piece and a 20-minute rainy line, I expected way more. I would trade this for a good croissant or a pistachio cornetto anytime. Quality & taste: 7/10 Quantities: 9/10 Atmosphere: 5/10 Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 2/10 Service: 1/10 How I felt afterwards: 3/10

Decent atmosphere, but the flavors are not there. For the price, we expect much better and especially more. Too bad, the place has potential.

Don't waste your time or money (depending on the location of your lodging), lots of advertising and very little delivery! We arrived and we could not order a coffee with a candy from the confectionery because the tables were only for those who would consume a brunch. So as my nora (influenced by the influencers of Tik Tok) wanted to try the candy, we accepted to take an espresso standing! On a micro counter, my husband wanted a sandwich but it would take 20 minutes to get ready! So we opted for an egg sandwich, which came the most disgusting thing anyone can imagine! Like they hit everything and came a square like a jelly inside the bread! Oh, bad! To receive a star I take into account the decoration and the artificial beauty of the candy. No cordial attention from the reception and no attention from the counter! Go to a starbucks you will feed well with nice service!

A charming French bakery in NYC offering buttery croissants, delicate pastries, and a cozy atmosphere that feels like a little slice of Paris.

A fun place to stop on the Upper West Side. The apple turnover was delicious. The prices were amazing and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming.

Absolutely fantastic! I wrote a lengthy review I accidentally failed to post. As I don’t want to rewrite the point was the breakfast was top shelf, dessert was not too sweet (yeah!), eggs fluffy and flavorful, fingerling potatoes crunchy on outside and soft inside with perfect seasoning. Service was absolutely top shelf. Attentive, friendly, and absolutely fantastic! This place isn’t cheap but the food and atmosphere is top shelf! Definitely a worthy stop! Very nice French atmosphere. I even heard French being spoken.

I normally don’t leave reviews but I’m uncomfortable after what I saw .The food was fine and the staff seemed fine. but what made me uncomfortable was watching a manager yell at one of the employees right in front of customers. The employee was a young girl and looked really embarrassed and it just created an awkward atmosphere in the whole dining area. I understand restaurants can get stressful, especially when it’s busy, but situations like that probably should be handled privately and with a little more respect. The rest of the staff seemed like they were fine and watched their coworker get yelled at. I’m leaving this review because I hope management can address this. As a guest, it just didn’t feel right watching someone get spoken to that way while everyone was eating. Also i was going to go up to the counter to ask where the bathroom is located, but after that i decided to ask for my check and get out of there.
