"World's Most Expensive Bodega" 100% saw a mouse running through the store this morning when I needed to pick up a couple things. Everything is so expensive, and the selection continues to dwindle.. especially if you are vegan/vegetarian. Many of the shops and features that made this place semi worth it have been closed down indefinitely.

...Beginning of update... The amount of food they serve has decreased to a noticeable extent. What's worse: the service has really gone downhill: with the restaurant being half empty, I was refused a seat even in a 2-person table. I had to wait for a space at the bar. After much consideration, I left the restaurant. Service is really essential to a dining experience. ...End of update... I must admit that I found it difficult to review this restaurant. This is because I have never spent so little money (less than $20, pre-tip) and felt so full at a Japanese restaurant: the amount they gave was truly surprising. Yet, Japanese restaurants are quite different from, say, Chinese restaurants, in that Japanese restaurants typically serve minute amounts of food, that which is highly delicate (sometimes it's the taste of the food, and sometimes it's the arrangement of the foods, and sometimes it's both, such as kaiseki, a traditional Japanse multi-course dinner). Therefore, if I were to judge the food they serve by the standard of being delicate, I would have to deduct a star or two, as the food here have no connection to either meaning of delicate, as aforementioned. With that said, I do think this place gives good, or even great, value if you don't judge its food by how delicate the food is. As is evident from my photo, although the salmon was on the smaller side, the amount of tempura was ample, as was the amount of salad and rice on the side. I don't want to reiterate, but I was truly astonished to barely being able to finish my plate. In all due fairness, it is possible that their sushi or sashimi are delicate, but as I didn't order any, I can't comment on those. Speaking of which, they offer combination plates known as A+A, A+B, and B+B, where A is some cooked item, and B is some raw item, and the more B there is, the more expensive the combination plate is. Although the place is quite small, and I don't like the divider at the entrance, service was good and prompt. What I like the most about the service, however, is how the waitress chose to look away while I was signing the credit card charge slip, and deciding how much to tip. At some restaurants, the servers literally stare at you and react based on how much you are tipping. I know how some servers depend on tips to make a living wage, but I really appreciate that this waitress wasn't giving me any pressure to tip: because I felt so comfortable, I tipped even more than I usually would.

1000/10. Flavours complemented the food well. The side portions are huge. Service was amazing and they go above and beyond. Honestly, it’s just the best place I’ve ever eaten at. If you haven’t had RT Rotisserie, you are missing out

.We went in and a very old school atmosphere, brought us into dark closed off table like an old rail car. I was not fond of the darkness. The food was mediocre and overpriced. I would not recommend it. We spent too much for little food we received. I think better seafood restaurants in San Fran.

12 years ago I got oyster poisoning at Tadich. There were terrible in owning up. But the State of CA followed up with oyster supplier. But I decided today to go for all the previous good memories I had. What a mistake. The calamari steak I had was BURNED on the back side. The butter garlic sauce was overwhelming but did mask the burned flavor. Never again will I go back to Tadish. Overpriced and overrated.

2 couples went to dinner, we had booked in March for end of September. This place books up months in advance. We had a table for 8pm, arrived early, had a cocktail while we waited. Seat just after 8pm the place was packed. Prime Rib was great we had ours seared as like it more medium than rare, sides were delicious, but far too huge portions the jacket potato would have been a meal on its own. Was sorry to see it wasted after just 2 bites. Salad starter was also lovely. We squeezed desert in shares 2 between 4 of us. Dinner for 4 with a cocktail each came in just shy of $400 Inc tip. Would we do it again... Yes, for very special occasions, but book well in advance or you will be disappointed

You.must.eat.here. First, let’s get this out of the way. If you are looking for a romantic and intimate place, you will have to go elsewhere. This place is LOUD. With crowded seating, I was a part of three different conservations and it wasn’t pleasant. I’d recommend sitting at the end of the bar to minimize the noise pollution. And the drinks. If you are looking for stellar mixologist-inventions, this again, is not your place. Ok. Now that’s out of the way. I’ll say it again. EAT. HERE. We had the dried porcini donuts, chicken liver banh mi, the aged beef wonton, tonnarelli sea urchin (with their in-house made gluten free pasta) and the steak. It was all exceptional (minus the pasta which was good but not exceptional). This is my most memorable meal all year, by far. What sticks out to me is that everything was seasoned perfectly and the flavors were pleasantly vibrant. The two things that REALLY stuck out were the donuts and banh mi. They both were extraordinary and are two small bite plates that you should definitely order. I am looking forward to returning again and again.

We chose this restaurant for our first night in SF mainly for its location near our hotel, in the Pacific Heights area, and also because of the great reviews. We were not disappointed. Having enjoyed a light meal at an earlier cooking class, we were happy to have later reservations. When we arrived on foot, the valet attendant greeted us warmly and opened the door. The place was full! We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation so we waited a bit. The bar was packed so we waited near the hostess stand. We were led to a lovely table just outside the front door in a small, toasty, fireplace-lit room! There was even a personalized birthday card waiting for me! With only four tables, it’s a charming and intimate room but for the table of five women loudly celebrating a birthday. Our server, Chase was THE BEST! Without us saying anything, he apologized for the noise, noting we had requested a quiet table in our reservation. He told us they were getting dessert menus but he could move us if we wanted. We declined and the loud ones soon departed. The food is beyond delicious! My husband chose the duck breast and said it was just as good as one he had in France, which is his measuring stick for duck! I had the special John Dory and it was so moist and flavorful! Both were presented in such unique styles! Mine had a layer of scalloped potatoes that appeared to look like scales. Toasted just right, this layer provided a shield to keep the fish perfectly moist. A choice of breads, tasty amuse bouche, an amazing taste of the Sunchoke bisque made us regret not ordering a larger bowl for dinner, too! We ended with decadent beignets and a surprise slice of birthday confetti cake rounded out a perfect evening. We also appreciated the very extensive wine list and the way the sommelier brought our wines by the glass in the bottles and allowed us to taste a sip before pouring. In a city with so many great restaurants, this will forever be one of our favorites. Thank you so much for such a memorable evening! We can’t wait to return!

Think my first time dining at R & G was like 9 or 10 years ago, along with friends who flew in from Vancouver, and us from Hong Kong. Eversince then, I will always make sure to pay a visit to R & G with my Co workers from Hong Kong each time I flew to San Francisco. If someone who's base in Hong Kong, which is well-known as chinese culinary paradise city would repeatedly patronise an overseas Chinese restaurant in Chinatown (which we try our best not to) , then it got to be evidently and consistently good! This time we went for lunch, just 2 of us so we ordered ~Half Crispy chicken 😋😋😋 ~Double Boiled Soup of the Day, 😋😋😋 ~Dry Chili Jumbo Prawns😋😋😋 ~Stir-fried Pea Greens😋😋😋 Five stars to all dishes we ordered! Especially the double boiled ginseng chicken soup! Lady server was kind enough to stop us from ordering more food because the portions are big. And she always check on us but not abruptly . Wine list has excellent choices too, and their Napa wines were pretty reasonable! 👍👍👍

Cambodian Street Food, Oakland I’ve been coming to this location when it was owned by Howard (RIP), it used to be “On Luck” Chinese food. He used to sell Dried Fried Ribs, Shrimp Fried Rice with Lobster Gravy Sauce, the classic Beef and Broccoli, Sweet and Sour Chicken or Pork, and so on. When Cambodian Street Food first opened up, they had a quiet grand opening. They wasn’t sure how people would feel about serving Cambodian food in the area. I remembered stopping by after work and the Uncle or brother of the owner would give me a sample of Beef Salawmachu Kreung while I was waiting for my order of Beef Sticks and rice. Both of the entrees were so good, I came back couple days later and ordered their Beef and Prahok Sauce with rice. The portions were huge for the price and enough to share for two people. The aunties (chefs) are so sweet and friendly. I’m so glad to see that they have continued to serve Dried Fried Ribs on their menu! I’ve been coming here ever since! Given the fact that this place is located in the residential area, street parking is limited. This is a “To-Go” place although they have limited seatings outside, the seating area gets filled quick! Of course I definitely will continue to come back and support this local Mom and Pop’s shop!! I’m so happy to see them thriving!!!! I Highly recommended!!!

A back street diamond of a place just a short stroll from the old town along the riverside. Open style restaurant, run by a very welcoming couple who clearly enjoy feeding people from all walks of life. The food is fresh, fragrant and authentic. Specialties all worth a try. Able to cater gluten free and support other allergies across a menu which is simple yet delicious. Definitely try the rose cake dumplings, they are a ‘wow’. Such delicate little morsels that were so yummy we ordered another portion. Can recommended the curry specialty and the chicken skewers with fried rice. Food service was worth the short wait. Kong and his wife were just lovely. Will be returning for sure to try the seafood.
