I strongly recommend staying away from this venue. My experiences with the staff at Sugar and Tea Room were extremely disappointing, and it seems clear that something in their management or operations has changed. This may explain why fewer classy, self-respecting patrons appear to be attending compared to the past. I used to visit these venues frequently, but on one occasion I was abruptly escorted out without any explanation. I later heard from others that if you are not continuously purchasing drinks, staff may single you out and ask you to leave. I am not a heavy drinker, but had I been treated with basic respect, I would have gladly spent full evenings there enjoying dinner and supporting the business. On previous visits, security staff would oddly sit next to me and ask if I was “okay,” as if there were an issue when there clearly wasn’t. On another occasion, I was simply told to leave with no explanation whatsoever. I am a well-dressed, respectful, and well-groomed individual, and the only apparent reason for this treatment seemed to be that I was not repeatedly purchasing overpriced drinks or reserving a table. Look out for a short mini version of Jackie Chan looking staff who goes around taking notes and passing the message to security. Staff constantly patrol and watch guests throughout the venue, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and discourages patrons from ordering at their own pace. Instead of feeling relaxed and welcomed, I felt pressured and unwelcome. Additionally, having previously worked closely with city code compliance, I noticed that the hallway connecting Sugar and Tea Room appears far too narrow during their over-capacity weekend nights. In the event of an emergency, this could potentially present a serious fire hazard. I am unsure whether the city or fire department is aware of this issue. I am a reasonable and respectful person, and I would not have posted this review had management simply provided an explanation or apology after I reached out privately. I did receive an initial response saying they would follow up, but no further communication ever came. Brickell now offers many better options, and I have been treated far more professionally at other venues. Until I receive a sincere apology and a genuine welcome back, I see no reason to remove this review or return.
(DO NOT GO HERE) WE WERE ALL LEGAL AGE IGNORE THESE LYING REPLIES!!! I came here for my 21st birthday and they denied my entry because I “looked too young”, and then refused to scan my ID because I didn’t have a passport on me…I walked 30mins from the nightclub because it wasn’t for me so I could go to a more relaxing location just to get thrown to the curb because I don’t “carry my passport” on me absolutely ridiculous NEVER recommend ANYONE to go to a place like this that cares so little about their costumers especially when it comes to special occasions definitely the last place that you’d want to go to. If anything just save your money and sing music in the car because this place has absolutely NOTHING to offer other than disrespect and the following reviews further my point, DO NOT GO HERE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!
65 dollars for 2 drinks? And they charged the max gratuity on top. The atmosphere is super ghetto like a cantina, mediocre drinks. You can go to a nice rooftop like rosa sky in Brickell and pay half for 2 drinks. This is stupid
Great atmosphere
One of the best in the area, no doubt about it.
10/10 recommend. I would fly to back in a heartbeat just to eat here and enjoy the friendly service again. After having terrible experiences at two other restaurants we found Mike's and met the most amazing person (Aly) in the whole land. Not only was the service impeccable but the food was some of the best I had on my entire vacation. Huge portions and normal priced menu. Great atmosphere with NICE people!
Arrived at 11:45 am for a 12pm college football game with a group. Staff were clueless how to find a game on a local network (FOX). If the change the channel on one of the monitors, all of the monitors would change which would affect games others are watching. Game started at 12 pm and they managed to find the game at 12:30 losing the entire first quarter. To top it off, with 1 minute left in the game and going into overtime, they changed the channel on another TV which changed the game we were watching. They couldn’t find the game again and we lost the ending of the most exciting college games this year. I’ve been going to Duffys for the last 30 years. I will never return. There are better sports bars in the area for better value in food, drinks and game watching experience.
Dining in a shipping container might be interesting and unique for some, but I certainly wouldn't call it a "great atmosphere". Every time the door of our 'container' closed, it made such a boisterous sound, I kept thinking something in the room crashed to the floor. The food, for sure, was very good. Upon entering and meeting two of my friends at the bar for a drink, - I sat at the bar and was completely ignored by the bartender. The bar wasn't that crowded, - this guy for whatever reason never acknowledge my presence; - not very welcoming. So I didn't order a drink, - and we went to our table. The table-side service was "okay". After being seated, ten minutes into our meal a hostess came by and asked if we had a reservation, - which we did. Again, this was a bit disruptive and unusual. You need all "three" to excel in my opinion (service, ambience and 'product' (food), - so one out of three isn't a total bust. I won't be returning.
Hard to go wrong with any items on the menu. Specially on Mondays when all items are 50% off. The place is friendly, quite, easy to get to, and the menu is not overwhelming. A few plates of all favorites: Meat, Poultry, Fish, Pasta, Soup, and Veggie plates. OH, and a full bar. Small and cozy, for a relaxed, private conversation. I recommend the Tuna Tartar and the stuffed tostones. The only small draw back is the limited on street parking.
2 story high ceiling located in spacious hotel lobby makes for a memorable cocktail (or two). Friendly bartender. Great "Mojito".
A bar with a lot of history and nice atmosphere, I recommend it for those who stay in the area. They have a varied menu of many beers and cocktails. I was surprised by the good food, although they were some to share but very rich. It also has a rock where you can choose the music
A little diamond tucked off to the side. Food is fantastic, probably the best burger I've had in Miami. They serve local beers. They have a wide variety of beers, and winds. Total neighborhood feel, very intimate, casual, comfortable setting. A little hard to spot. Has off the street parking.

My wife and my daughter visited this place, and the experience was truly disappointing. My wife asked a waitress, in Spanish, if she could bring us some sugar. The waitress’s response was rude and xenophobic. She stood right in front of her and said, in a harsh tone, that only English. My wife, shocked, tried again in English, but the waitress left angrily and never brought the sugar. It’s a shame, because the atmosphere is nice, but this behavior made us feel very uncomfortable. We will not be returning.

Bachelorette party group. Service was fantastic and so is the atmosphere! No food provided here hence the no stars.

One of the worst music experiences of my life. We waited for almost two hours for a band to play while some girl did a horrible “art/music” installation on stage which she could have gotten shotten for. Avoid!!!!!!! Area is SUPER sketchy too, ubers do not want to pick you up there. It will go out of business for sure.

Wonderful atmosphere and even better service! I had a great meal—the steak was cooked to a perfect medium and paired well with the mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. I also appreciated the well-poured Glenlivet to start the evening. A special mention for the bartender, Gabriella! She was incredibly friendly and engaging, making the whole experience feel personal. Excellent food and top-tier hospitality—I'll definitely be back!
