A Delicious Detour at Chennai Express** Ambiance: Sharing a space with other restaurants means seating is more "musical chairs" than fine dining Parking? Forget about it, it's a treasure hunt. But hey, who needs ambience when you have dosas this good? Food: Forget your fancy tablecloths, Chennai Express is all about the taste. Their dosas are the real deal - the crispiest, most flavorful I've had in Montreal in ages. The sambhar and coconut chutney are the perfect sidekicks to this South Indian symphony. Service: Be prepared for a wait - it's a one-man show here! But the dude taking orders, prepping food, and managing everything else is a saint. Super polite and calm, even with the pressure on. Overall: It's a culinary pit stop with a few bumps along the road. But if you're craving a delicious and authentic dosa experience, Chennai Express is worth the wait (and the parking hunt). Just don't forget your patience!
A bit pricy and small portion but delicious tacos. One of our order came out late because the server forgot to put it. A bit loud music and seemed to busy to ask staff for services on fridays.
All-you-can-eat Sunday brunch with really very good, varied, and quality food. On that point, nothing to complain about. However, the service is very uneven: we had to ask several times for water or coffee, which somewhat ruins the experience. The music is too loud and the musical style does not match the charm and elegance of the place. In my opinion, the servers are not sufficiently trained for a restaurant located in a renowned hotel, which is a shame given the potential of the place.
10/10 across the board. Service, food, drinks, music, views - this place has it all.
A flawless dining experience worth every star ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the time your hands touch the door, the beautiful, smiling, warm positive energy from the hostess sets the stage for what becomes one of the most delicious culinary experiences from start to finish. Service: Attentive without being intrusive — the staff anticipated needs before I even voiced them. The owner, Alex, was on the floor personally ensuring every guest was properly attended to, and the gentlemen working the floor carried themselves with class, making the entire experience feel both welcoming and refined. Our waiter, Illyan, was exceptionally knowledgeable and absolutely spot‑on with his food and wine recommendations, elevating the entire dining journey. Food: We experienced culinary perfection with 10‑star sushi — each piece a work of art, balancing freshness, precision, and flavour in a way that left us speechless. Every dish was a masterpiece, bold yet harmonious, with presentation rivaling fine art. Ambiance: Lighting, music, and décor created a sensory experience that elevated the meal into something unforgettable. Value: For the quality delivered, the price felt more like an investment in joy than a bill. I rarely give perfect scores, but this restaurant deserves it. A true 10/10 — I’ll be recommending it to everyone I know and returning .
A hidden gem! The service is impeccable and the food perfect. A lovely, quiet elegance with attentive but not intrusive service. Highly recommend for a wonderful experience!
A bit challenging to find Bivouac in the hotel…..rather unpleasant hostess…..delightful server…..very good food (tomato tart, rainbow trout and cod)….very noisy and very loud music. Not sure I would return because of the volume.
A cold cold place in service and prices for a random visitor. I thought this place was a decent Peruvian restaurant but wasn't at all. It was just one of those bars loud and overpriced downtown. I was asked to take a seat at the edge of the counter facing the cashier surrounded a pile of receipts and people to pay there.
A great disappointment I went to this restaurant with a couple from South America. The server whose name was Simon was arrogant not smiling dry not affable at all. Talking from the side of his mouth without great interest, as if we were bothering him with our questions. Food was abject so called nouvelle cuisine I had a magret de canard hardly chewable with a sweet sauce. I left some magret in my dish. The restaurant was quite noisy . They have a huge wine list . When I saw the final bill it was too much money for nothing. Dinner for three went to fetch 350$ with a wine of 65 dollars. I will never get back as I left it still hungry. I do not recommend it to anyone.
Toqué has an elegant interior with well-spaced out tables; the resulting noise level is low making for easy conversation. We chose the à la carte menu instead of the tasting menu. Initially, we found dishes such as the veal carpaccio and suckling pig loin to be flavorful, however, the more we sampled the dishes the more we found them to be somewhat confusing to the palate. There were too many different flavors and ingredients that did not mix well when eaten together, which is why we have given this otherwise excellent restaurant a four-star rating. The wine list is extensive and varied, with many high-quality wines available by the glass using the Coravin system. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and helped us with good suggestions from the Coravin choices. This allowed us to individually pair interesting wines with different dishes. Overall, the service was professional and efficient, while also being helpful and friendly.
Don't know why this place is not packed but grateful as we have had the best food such a relaxed atmosphere. So glad we ended up in a different hotel and had to Find somewhere else to eat. Tiny bruschetta and mozza/ marina breads plus warm buns with butter and oil and balsamic vinegar to start a wonderful caprese salad. The lasagna and the veal Parmesan were so flavorful and tender. The attention to detail encompassing the extra bread and oil to the huge bowl of mixed nuts to crack brought to the table after the main was incredible. We are so glad we went inside thinking we could go upstairs on the terrace to dine. Nothing outside could match the intimate quiet experience of this old world charm dining. We'll be back. Xo
7 of us dined at Milos mid week in December. Milos is on Avenue Du Parc in Montreal where parking is notoriously difficult. Even more so in winter when the streets are covered in snow. I would strongly recommend the valet service or have Uber bring you. We reserved for 6:30pm and the restaurant was already very busy. We were seated promptly and our server was very efficient in getting water to the table. We chose to order family style for the table to expedite the process. It absolutely helps when your host is a regular and knows the menu secrets, but equally I would trust your server to amaze you with a great selection of dishes. To start with we ordered some tomato salad (greek salad to most folks), seared octopus and hummus, calamari and the Milos Special - Paper thin zucchinis and eggplants, lightly fried, Saganaki cheese, tzatziki. It is really really good! We then ordered a whole fish baked in sea salt. Our choice was a Mediterranean Sea Bass. It was perhaps the most tender and succulent fish I have ever had. We accompanied that with some Lamb Chops - they were perfectly cooked, exceptional quality and needed no sauces or dressings. With some hand cut potatoes, grilled vegetables and salad on the side we had a meal that was outstanding. To round out the evening, Milos deserts are great. Baklava ice cream, Greek yoghurt and honey, Galaktoboureko ( a Vanilla and lemon zest custard in layered phyllo) and Ekmek Kataifo (a ‘’shredded phyllo’’ layered with custard cream and homemade Chantilly topped with pistachios) may just blow your mind! Milos has an extensive wine cellar and your serve4 can recommend some perfect pairings. Milos is an amazing restaurant. It is busy - don’t expect much space around your table. Don’t expect a quiet atmosphere. The quality of food and service is exceptional. While they do have outlets around the world, this is the original and best.

I was staying in the hotel and visited Henri Brasserie Française and was disappointed with the seating. The female host placed me at a table directly beside the kitchen door and the waiters’ preparation station, despite multiple empty tables at the entrance. I had intended to order a full meal, but the location was uncomfortable due to constant staff traffic and noise. It did not feel appropriate for a proper dining experience, especially when more suitable tables were visibly unoccupied. At the very least, I wish I had been offered a choice of seating. Because of this, I ended up only ordering appetizers and leaving earlier than planned. That said, the French soup was very good, and the waiter was exceptionally kind and attentive. I hope the restaurant improves how guests are seated, particularly when there is clear availability elsewhere.

The interior design was elegant and exquisite, creating a truly beautiful and sophisticated atmosphere. The live piano music made the whole dining experience feel even more special and memorable. The service was amazing — attentive, professional, and warm from beginning to end. The seafood was absolutely delicious, the wine selection was excellent, and the dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening. One of the best dining experiences in Montreal.

THE GOOD: Really friendly front-of-house person and waiters. Delicious food (I had the lamb). THE BAD: Unexpectedly, our dinner featured a singer. He did 2 or 3 sets, circulating between the tables. Nicely sung jazz standards and vintage French chansons. Thing is, the sound system was so loud that we had difficulty carrying on our conversation. We were there to eat and chat, not to attend a concert. I spoke to the person who seemed to be in charge and politely requested that he turn the volume down. He said this was impossible as the sound system was "parametrisé". I pointed out that this did not sound plausible, and anyway that we, not the singer, were the paying customers. This did not change his mind, so I said I would leave a bad review.

We walked over to dinner here primarily because it was nearby and the online reviews seemed good. Our server was very warm and attentive. The ambiance is nicer than some of the other restaurants nearby, and we enjoyed the soul music. I wasn’t hungry for a main dish, so I just had the French onion soup, which was good despite seeming a bit sweet. My fiancé enjoyed his lamb, as well.
