Dishonestly lists it's menu prices by adding a resteruant set fee to the price. If they were honest they advertise the true price.
06/2024 Visited on a weekend evening. Pretty busy but not overly so. I ordered the Hokkaido Scallop, Unagi, and Ika Nigiri, along with the Spicy Salmon Hand Roll and Taiyaki Ice Cream dessert. Overall, it ran me about $50. The food was just "alright." None of the food was morish and the price I paid didn't feel justified. The hand roll was pathetic - I could not tell that there was salmon in there... And the Taiyaki Ice Cream was literally just one of those ice creams you could buy a four-pack of but charged three times more. This restaurant serves Nigiri and Handrolls, but I'd say stick with the regular rolls and save the specialty sushi for a dedicated omakase restaurant. And absolutely skip the dessert... Atmosphere - The restaurant's main appeal is that it runs as a "bullet train" restaurant. However... when I came to visit, it wasn't running! And because of this (or not), service was pretty slow! It took 20 minutes to get my food... The decor of the restaurant was okay... I guess I expected more eating at a Sushi restaurant in San Francisco. Would I eat here again? Absolutely not, lol... Way too expensive for what you get and there are no promises of their marketing draw (bullet train).
Disappointing Experience at Dancing Yak I made a reservation at Dancing Yak through OpenTable after seeing they had many vegan options. Being familiar with Nepalese cuisine, I had high expectations—especially since my favorite Nepalese spot in Osaka delivers bold, unforgettable flavors. Unfortunately, Dancing Yak fell far short of that standard. Ambiance (⭐ Removed) The tables are way too close together, making it impossible not to hear the conversations next to you. The noise level gets overwhelming because people have to yell over each other just to be heard. It’s not the music—it’s just the layout. Service & Food Timing (⭐ Removed) The order in which food came out made no sense. I expected naan to arrive with the main dishes, but it was the last thing brought to the table. By then, it didn’t even feel necessary. Drinks (⭐ Removed) My friend ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was so bad that she left the entire drink untouched when we left. That says a lot. Food (⭐ Removed) - **Cauliflower** – It was overly crunch. If I had to eat here again, I’d ask for it to be cooked less. - **Veggie Momo** – The wrapper tasted undercooked, and the filling had the texture of mashed baby food. Not good. - **Veggie Chow Mein** – The only dish that was actually tasty. - **Daal Bhat Platter** – This was the worst part. Everything was completely flavorless. Even the rice had no taste, which is wild because rice usually has *some* flavor. When I asked the waiter where the seasoning was, he just shrugged. - **Roti** – It was like a brown pancake. I order roti all the time at Biryani Kebab in Oakland, and it’s always amazing but this? The worst I’ve had. We left most of the platter, the roti, the naan, and the Old Fashioned untouched. The meal was *not* worth $90. I honestly don’t understand how this place has so many stars. If I had known, I would’ve gone around the corner for some bomb vegan pizza at Joyride instead. Final rating: ⭐ 1/5
10/10 food 10/10 staff 10/10 location 10/10 atmosphere
2025 estate. We found this pinseria near our accommodation and it was a wonderful experience. Booked without problems with an app, I think it was OpenTable. We were greeted very cordially and they let us choose between 2 tables. The setting was nice and the people inside were varied and cheerful. The bar-like counter behind our table was nice. Special mention to the pinse which are truly delicious and I believe part of the credit goes to the chefs and part to the wise choice of ingredients. The only negative note is the area where the pinseria is located, which is frequented by homeless people and addicts, evidently not the pinseria's fault.
A beautiful and special, not to mention delicious and well serviced establishment. I went for the happy hour beer and apps, (btw, very fairly priced) and I was not disappointed by the service, ambiance or quality taste and presentation of food at all. The tables and chairs were nice and clean. The floor didn't stick to your shoes. The service was fast. The music was good. The waiter and service and food was really great. Also their were not to many people there on the Friday at 6pm when I went. Definitely a 5/5 star place that I'm going back too again.
1 the service was the worst I have received in San Francisco. Nobody would wait on us. 20 mins for water. 10 mins for a refill. They staff more worried about setting the tables
2 stars - 1 for the atmosphere and 1 for the wine. Food was pretty basic, over priced due to the location and not really authentic. It’s a real pity because it looks authentic but it’s really a tourist trap. Hostess was nice, servers were typical cheeky Italian style waiters with no real respect for customers, just got a dismissive sort of attitude like you were a bother to them. Unfortunately it’ll always be busy because of the location and most likely won’t change but don’t expect much!
2 stars for the ambiance and my nostalgia I finally went back to this restaurant I used to go around 8 years ago when we leaved in Venice. What a disappointment! As much as we loved it in the past (with a couple of flaws) I was sincerely disappointed this time. I went with the three kids on a Friday night. Sure it was full (popular now and has a bar for adults) and the whole energy had changed. The musician was already wrapping up, the tortilla maker looked tired and the waiters were doing everything to get you out as soon as possible. The pictures were still there on the wall though! Loved seeing them again... But honestly how can a place making fresh tortillas serve them totally undercooked?.. We ordered different meals (full meals, no kids meals) and even my daughter always so forgiving and so after great memories ended up only eating a few bites of her un-chewable steak... And cheese on everything, so much cheese, no taste left. I ordered the calamaris I remembered enjoying so much: they arrived totally flat, breaded (not mentioned in the menu) without taste and rice with cheese, veggies with cheese too -and oh! so oily. The guacamole never arrived (probably better). The waiter while with a smile was in a hurry for everything, never offered water, couldn't wait to get us out. And the best for the end: we all 4 got sick or "half-sick" (as my daughter says) during the night. I am sure the restaurant does well on week end with it's ambiance and (flooded) margaritas, and being across Whole Food may help too. But does it do well during the week - or perhaps it is better during the week?.. I love the movie though, will just stick to the movie next time, and NEVER come back here. Too expansive too for what it is (and no, you don't even get chips and salsa).
100 year celebrations worth a visit We stumbled on this hidden gem while out walking. Celebrating its 100th year it is a fabulous Mexican restaurant. Shared a mixed platter and ceasar salad at lunch with their famous margriettas . While I actually had 2 margrietta....both great. Older traditional atmosphere and experienced server . Sounds like the ownership is very community driven and charitable by the 100 yr celebrations . We'll done.
11 out of 10! My wife, son and I were treated to a first class meal, amazing service and awesome table. Great ambiance, fabulous wine selection and everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The beef tenderloin and salmon entrees were amazing. We are foodies and tend to be picky. Rarely do we gave better than 9 out of 10. Culina gets an 11 for there performance tonite.
20 years ago on a business trip San Francisco someone took me for lunch to a Dim Sum eatery at lunchtime ... not so much a restaurant, more a canteen. Many years later we booked Yank Sing and enjoyed a lunch there. Fantastic food served throughout the restaurant from trollers by enthusiastic staff ... the atmosphere was buzzing and the food amazing. Point to a dish and it is on your table, ask for something from the menu and it arrives quickly ask for a recommendation and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. It isn’t the cheapest place to have lunch, but it is a frenzied experience with atmosphere and great food - not just Dim Sum there are a few more traditional Chinese dishes on offer too. Well worth a visit for lunch, make a reservation as it will be busy. 6 out of 5 if I could award it.

My family and I drove almost 3 hours from our hometown to try this place. The food was delicious, but the service from the lady that was there was so incredibly rude! The atmosphere was not what I expected. It was dirty, the bathrooms were filthy, the sauces looked messy and bottles felt sticky, and the tables were gross. The staff lady that worked there looked miserable as if she hated her job. Also wanted to mention that at the end of our meal, the lady approached us, asking us to clean our own table. There was no sign anywhere, and she seemed lazy to do anything. She also forgot an item on our order. She didn’t apologize either for that. We unfortunately will not be returning.

Just finished breakfast. Best Denny’s I’ve ever been to. Well kept, good atmosphere and great service! Our server was Rocio. She and everyone we interacted with was very friendly.

Avoid. Ruined Birthday. This place has lousy vibes. Tables are too close and crowded and it is too loud. We were seated inside on top of a waiter station. There is little choice for those with allergies. I ordered a lamb rack ($90) well done. The waiter said he would bring it medium. I said no that I wanted it well done. The manager came to say the chef won’t let it come well done and that he would bring it medium and then take it back to cook more. Three men in 2926 telling a woman how to order and eat her meat. Shocking. I decided to leave immediately and went to Crissroads on melrose whete I was treated like a queen and ate a really amazing dinner.

Great food and excellent service. Highly recommend! I got the Acoustic menu which was very tasty with generous portions. The dessert was huge and fancy. The service was excellent in a wonderful atmosphere as everyone was so accommodating of my numerous requests and so welcoming, especially the manager who really goes out of his way to take good care of his customers and to get to know them personally. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
