10/10 experience at this restaurant! Atmosphere was cozy and the music was loud but Rob dealt with that in a hot minute! Rob was a wonderful waiter with a great sense of humour and had a box of reading glasses for reading the menu without even asking. Food was delicious and was not over stuffed. Special to go bag from Rob and his sense of humour. Would highly recommend this restaurant anytime!
2 stars. first time at chipotle and the workers were to fast and gave me beans when i didn’t want them. the drink machine had no ice so all the drinks were warm. the food was spicy and i asked for the no spice. the store was very loud and the tables were not cleaned well. would not recommend
“....a $2 PhD in hot water economics” Came here for a $140 “snack” and a gossip session with a friend I haven't seen for several month - Left with a groundbreaking awakening on how to turnaround the Canadian economy productivity crisis (i.e. GDP per capital is lagging the US by 10-15 years, maybe forever at this point: 2025 US GDP per capita is projected to be ~63% HIGHER than the Canadian GDP per capita, based on data from the IMF). And it is all thanks to some Leonardo da Vinci of hospitality - absolute galaxy-brain restaurateur who stared at boiling water + one (as in 1 piece) lonely lemon (or lime maybe) circle and thought: “This… this needs a paid subscription.” Revolutionary!!! Truly next level entrepreneurship!!! I’m patiently waiting for the $5 “table structural stability fee” and the $3 “oxygen surcharge per hour." ....Starbucks literally just posted a Q4 EPS miss and their CEO must be on the floor crying into a complimentary cup of hot water, realizing they’ve been running a charity this whole time..... This is it, guys! this is where the turnaround happens! Forget AI, AI robotics, and data centers! -> introducing high added value processing of tap water near you! Every cafe, diner, gas station, and the sketchiest airport Burger King on the planet has been giving away hot water for free (cost: 0.0003¢ or something), but THIS place said “hold my espuma” and slapped a $2 line item on the bill for what is essentially a tea bag’s retirement value. Highlights of the experience: - Water was, indeed hot!!! Truly mind-blowing!!! I was not emotionally prepared.... - Lemon was… dark yellow? Greenish? Hard to tell in the moody lighting. Might have been a lime having an identity crisis (you know it happens sometimes...actually common these days). Still, it was trying its little vitamin-C-ing best, and for which I give it credit! - Food: good. - Vibes: immaculate. - Extortion: subtle, polite, and peak Canadian - just like your property rights quietly evaporating while everyone apologizes.... Would definitely return… to read the new reviews while sipping FREE hot water from the bar next door that apparently hasn’t discovered the hot-water gold rush yet. Keep slaying, kings. 👑 11/10 innovation.
Absolutely loved this pizza! 🍕🔥 The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside, with that delicious wood-fired flavor. The toppings were generous and fresh, and the cheese was melted just right. Every bite was balanced and full of flavor. The place itself is clean and welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the service was quick. Plus, the music created a great vibe without being too loud. Definitely coming back!
A hidden delight downtown! Love having my business meetings here. Calm, quiet, and so elegant.
Absolutely marvelous restaurant, found the atmosphere to be quiet and intimate, with lovely soft music that enhances the experience. Food and service was exceptional. Will definitely return.
1. We waited approx 30 for our 8 pm reservation. Why have reservations if they are not honoured in a timely fashion. 2 The noise level was like we were sitting in the kitchen. Could not hear our conversations across the table nor could we hear the specials the server verbally told us. Just give us a printout of the specials on a paper or on an iPad. 3. We ordered still water and bubbly and asked for the water to be left on the table as it was a very hot day. It wasn’t and the server was inattentive when our water glasses were empty. So we self served. 4. We ordered wine .Then, we were moved to a quieter area of the restaurant with a different server. When the wine came, I said to the server that it was this bottle was not the one we ordered. The server still poured the wine into the wine carafe. I asked if I could see the bottle. Sure enough, we were given a different bottle than the one we ordered. 5. When the server approached our table she always interrupted our conversation rather than waiting for a pause to ask her question(s) 6. The meal arrived which was tasty! Whew! 7. Then there was a mixup with the desserts. One order was incorrect and one couple had to wait 20 minutes for their dessert. Sadly, it was the newly engaged couple and the reason why we were out for this dinner. So, 1/7 for a high end restaurant. I am so disappointed! I hope management will try to address these issues so that this once great restaurant can regain our attendance. In the meantime, we will go elsewhere.
A few steps from the noisy Campo dei Fiori, you will find yourself in this corner of peace and Romanism complete with oak tree, small church and decorated facades. The environment is refined, the ingredients chosen, the food delicious, the prices right. I dined here alone one evening in May and enjoyed every bite and every sip of wine.
Acorn blew my husband and I away. Our dinner here was the best meal - not just vegetarian but also meat based - that we've had in years. We ate outstanding, inventive dishes and had interesting conversations with our server (young, blond tattooed female) who was the most knowledgeable server in memory. We are literally thinking of coming back to Vancouver just to eat here again. We arrived at opening time on a Thursday and sat at a corner table so maybe that's why we didn't feel the restaurant was overly crowded or noisy like some others. Also, we focus on uniqueness of dishes, quality of execution and service for a dining experience rather than interior design. My husband came in a suit & tie straight from a conference and I was in shorts and T-shirt. We felt the simple, alternative-hip Zen-like style made the place welcoming to all kinds of customers. And finally, our bill was crazy-low for what we got. 4 drinks (2 alcoholic, 2 not) 4 appetizers, 2 mains, 2 desserts was about $125 before tip. And the last time we enjoyed a meal this much was at Dinner by Hester Blumenthal in Sydney at 5x the price. Yea Acorn!!! You make life good!
100 % when I go to the any Vietnamese restaurants , I just order the Pho and spring roll quick eat and leave , do not care much any decor or fancy menu , one of my Vietnamese client hear that I am a very fussy foodie , so they invite me for dinner last night , it is almost three years since my last visit , still very modern upscale and bright ambiance , very busy almost packed , little noisy that my liking , and the tablets too close together , not very relax or comfortable , but very creative traditional Vietnamese menu with a touch of French far style cooking , it is not a cheap place for Vietnamese food , almost double the price from another Vietnamese's restaurant , average price for Pho is between $20 to $25 , outside most you pay is $16 , again , lot of foods for 4 people , the best dishes is the Soft crab salad , a classic dishes very colourful and tasty and the Meat platter very flavourful , also the shrimp pancake not too bad , very top end quality , I all way tell people , you pay what you get , no wonder is one of the Michelin restaurant recommended it , I thank my client for a wonderful meal , would I come back ? not likely , too noisy and not relaxing place to enjoy your meal , special just for Pho and too expensive and waiting time over half hours , foods is excellent , but you know what people say " Different stroke for different folks " okay to try it out , if you have not been to any upscale Vietnamese restaurants in Vancouver . service is okay . I love their excellent idea for reservation by donation program !
5 of us went for dinner with a reservation mid week (7 PM). Restaurant was very quiet and we were seated at a table in the back corner. Delightful warm interior, excellent service, large wine list, compact menu. Vancouver good tap water and complimentary bread (2 kinds of butter) arrived. All of us chose pasta for eats - Strozzapreti Bolognese (with meat ragú) , Giulio’s Pasta (with prawns), Spaghettini Alla Carbonara (with lobster) and a daily special of Linguini Mongole (with clams). All dishes were ample size and flavourful. A bit on the pricy side but worth dining here. Passed on dessert. If you drive to the restaurant area parking is difficult however, the restaurant provides free parking in an underground garage next to the restaurant.
9 of us came here for a birthday celebration and had the set menu . Very very good food . Imaginative recipes , well selected ingredients , well prepared and well presented . Service was fine but unremarkable . The room is quite nice . Not too noisy . Our BIG complaint is that they would not allow us to serve the special birthday cake we brought with us . That is a very poor policy . We spent a lot of money the and their substitute for the cake was an inadequate and ordinary pavlova . I repeat this is very poor . I have never had a restaurant impose such a policy . Price was very high and I do not think it was justified by what we were served .

Amazing food and friendly staff. We celebrated our anniversary there for the second year in a row. However, we went on a Friday night and the place was unfortunately very loud. Conversation was difficult.

I found this place just in time—my phone was almost dead! The staff were incredibly kind and seated me at the bar so I could charge it. While my phone powered up, I enjoyed a delicious “Criminale” pizza that absolutely hit the spot. The surprise drink and the lovely music made the whole experience truly special. Definitely a one-of-a-kind visit—I’ll be back!

The atmosphere was nice. Had to walk up two levels of stairs, but was greeted by hostess. Asked to sit at bar as I was solo. The environment was loud, with people laughing and talking and with the overhead music. I was watching media on my iPhone which was hard to hear because of all the noise. When some blonde lady tapped me on my shoulder and rudely said we can hear your phone. The bar was packed with a couple on both sides of me didn’t seem to mind. The Bartenders didn’t seem to mind or I’m sure they would have politely asked me to lower or turn my phone off. Ordered the Baseball steak with garlic mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Potatoes good. Vegetables could have been more. The steak says it’s cooked medium rare or less. Ordered medium rare it came more medium. Didn’t resemble a baseball steak at all.

Fun atmosphere with live music, but the best was the food. The seafood tasted fresh and well seasoned and the Mediterranean dishes that we ordered were also very good. The service was excellent, our waitress Jackie, was very friendly and helpful. We didn't have reservations but the wait time was short. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
