  • 5 stars with one foot note. The location and uber access isn't for everyone. So "location" aside, this is a truly fabulous hotel. Rooms were amazing, staff was absolutely most helpful and the design is special. It's attached to the large Marriott via a convention/meeting area. So I can imagine there are times when the crowds might be a bit tough. We were there during a hockey game weekend and didn't notice any special crowds other than a complete lack of Ubers/taxis. Which continually posed the biggest challenge for both days we were in town. Not sure why the shortage, but I know Uber is only recently "back" in Vancouver. The location is down at BC Place in Yaletown. A newish area that attempts a hip vibe but is really just at the edge of the more interesting section. On the "if you get lemons, make lemonade" scripture, we ended up just walking into town and the 1 or so Kilometer helped offset all the food we ate during our trip. (0.0%)
  • A boutique hotel and Canada’s first Indigenous arts hotel located in the heart of Vancouver’s historic downtown and operated by the Vancouver Native Housing Society. The lodge houses two social enterprises that support the Society’s mission and financial sustainability. Each of the 18 rooms have been individually decorated by six Indigenous artists to create what are effectively 18 art installations. The Lodge is located on the edge of Vancouver's historic Gastown and Chinatown. Within the immediate vicinity of the Lodge are a large number of homeless, drug/alcohol affected or unwell people. However I felt safe walking to and from the Lodge.During working hours city workers pass through the area. This is the reality of what is Canada's most expensive city to live in. The contrast to the glitz and glam of the condos downtown is stark. Yet every large city has similar marginal populations. If you are looking for a location in a glitzy and glamorous part of town with lots of night life then Swachays Lodge may not be for you. However if you want to see all sides of a city and support an organisation whose commercial strategies are to maximise improvements in human and environmental well-being, rather than maximising profits for external shareholders then I urge to to consider Swachays. Excellent service is provide by all staff. Yes I would definitely return. (0.0%)
  • A lot of shabbiness to an older renovation. The Parlour Chairs in 207 were visibly soiled and totally worn out, not comfortable to sit on. The Dockside Restaurant service was inefficient. It took a long time to order. The waiter with a Rose tattoo on his hand didn't check to see if the food was acceptable ( mediocre). He let our water Glasses to remain empty. I was charged $39 for parking but only found out it was not complimentary after my stay. Stay downtown and just visit Granville Island. Tap & Barrel Bridges offered better food, view and service in my oppion. (0.0%)

  • "Super nice hotel! Great hotel. Everything was nice. would surely choose it again next time we visit. Great location, great service, friendly staff, helpful staff. Good value for the money. Thank you! (0.0%)
  • **Hotel Review:** I recently stayed at this hotel and was quite disappointed. While the location is great, the hotel itself feels like an antique with outdated popcorn ceilings. During my short stay, the shower parts broke, and the toilet got clogged, which added to the frustration. The continental breakfast was a joke. To make matters worse, the staff is very strict about showing your hotel card to participate. My friend, who booked through a third-party site (hotel.com, I believe), was told she couldn’t even grab a cup of coffee. So, if you plan to stay here, make sure to book directly with the hotel to avoid these issues. My friend stayed just one night and moved to the Hampton Inn instead, where the continental breakfast spread was outstanding. If you decide to stay here, reserve directly and confirm any discounts ahead of time. This place could be better with some updates, but its location is the only real advantage. (0.0%)
  • *Hotel very well located (despite the homeless and drug addicts on the corner) and accessible by public transport. *The bedding is very good. *The staff is friendly. Thanks to the young women at the restaurant for warming up my milk ;) *Room of 16m² a little small for my taste for the asking price but acceptable. *The bathroom is large with a large walk-in shower, but unfortunately at night, the light from outside spoils the darkness brought by the beautiful black curtains in the room (you should think about obscuring the windows of the room). bathroom door 416...) *The hallway light under the door is also disturbing (maybe we should turn off the hallway lights at night or adjust the door?) *Breakfast is acceptable but not exceptional *Missing a small fridge. Luckily there was an ice maker on the floor to cool our drinks. *The air conditioning is noisy. (0.0%)

"Room 327, 3 nights. The good: Location, renovated rooms, views, decent breakfast at pub (not included in room price). The bad: Where do I begin.... Parking facility in the rear is inadequate for space, why is it not secured? Anyone can break in ...the alley has plenty of drug users and homeless. Room windows are paper thin, bring ear plugs, you will need them, regardless of the floor. So much street noise, barely slept. Mouse trap in room, and everywhere in public areas, I witnessed a mouse in the lobby several times. Bed was ok, pillows are terrible, and what's with the plastic tags on the pillows? Overall, this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. No point in having newer looking rooms if you feel you have the same noise inside the room as outside. Mouse problem should have city health inspections there on a regular basis. I've stayed in other downtown Vancouver hotels in the past, none have ever had this problem."

"Another outstanding stay at the Wedgewood. The service was superlative, starting at check-in with David A. Martin the doorman and Dicken the manager were awesome, too. Our anniversary room was upgraded to a full suite, which was greatly appreciated. Everything in the room was perfect. We stay here when in Vancouver for the value, and the friendliness of the staff from top-to-bottom. The atmosphere in the bar and restaurant was very romantic, with a live pianist. This was our second stay, with many more to come. Our favorite hotel in North America!"
