**This is solely my opinion from my personal experience**. My wife and I had a very unsatisfactory stay at this hotel during my birthday weekend. We found the building infested with roaches and some kind of rat, which was disturbing. My vehicle was also damaged at the Hilton-recommended valet parking garage, incurring a significant repair cost, despite us having paid the parking fees to Hilton. I won't get into the details. The hotel management did not assist, and we never received an apology for the experience. I cannot recommend this particular Hilton-branded hotel. If you're looking for a safe place to stay when you visit NYC, I would not recommend this hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel management did not show accountability or take care of their customers (which is not typical of a Hilton).
1. Air conditioner is ridiculously loud 2. Only one out of the three elevators work 3. The TV can’t be connected to any signals so you can’t watch anything. 4. Very loud noises from the street
1. Early Check-in Unavailable 2. Heating Issues The heater kept shutting off. When they repaired it, it only worked for half a day before shutting off again. I asked to switch rooms, but they refused. They promised to replace the heater, but it was just talk. In the end, they gave us a portable heater. We had to endure the New York cold in December with that. 3. Cleaning Issues I practically begged them to clean the room. When I mentioned it at the front desk, they said the manager wasn't responding and gave me the manager's email. I ended up contacting the manager directly, but the room still wasn't cleaned when I came back. Because they didn't clean, the bathroom started to smell musty. In the middle of winter, fruit flies were coming up from the drain. The shower booth was so dusty, I didn't even want to look at it. With no heating and no cleaning, I got increasingly frustrated. When my companion expressed our dissatisfaction via email, they finally cleaned the room on the 4th day. We had cleaning only once during our 7-night stay. This seems like a problem. The hotel needs to change its process. The cleaning fee wasn't free, it was $100. Fortunately (or unfortunately), they admitted their fault and cleaned it for free. It's closing the barn door after the horse has bolted, haha. 4. Sleeping with Mice We sometimes ordered delivery. Because they didn't clean, we left leftover food in bags on the table. One night, I woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of the faucet creaking. I instinctively felt it might be a mouse, but I fell back asleep. About two nights later, as we were talking in the evening, a plump mouse came out from the table area and disappeared into that problem heater!!!!! I had heard that New York has a lot of mice, but I never imagined I'd be sharing my room with one. I never want to experience that again...
- small NYC type rooms but expected in this area. - the beds are shorter than normal. Anyone over 5’10” will have their feet hang over the bed. Such a weird thing to have short beds. - bathrooms are small and sinks are useless. The ergonomics in the bathroom are terrible with a pocket door for privacy. If you’re going to poop, there’s little privacy. - elevators are terrible. 3 small elevators for entire building means 10-15 min waits to get anywhere. - staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a heating issue where and they resolved it quickly.
2/22/2026 I booked a room so it will be convenient for me to be at work the following day due to the snow storm. Here are some of the things you might want to consider if you are planning to stay at Chelsea Inn. I stayed at Room 503 Door #2. Pros: The room is very clean. You have regular bath towels, face towels and the towel that you put on the floor to step on after shower, plus one roll of toilet paper. They have coffee to brew, cups to use with coffee maker and a microwave. You also have a small closet to put in some clothes with a Safe to put your valuables in. The place is warm on this winter night, but if it gets too warm, you can always turn on the AC unit to put the room in your desired temperature. At the lobby, they have Keurig coffee available and some granola snacks. Place is very secured. Cons: Room in itself is very small. The space is just enough to fit a queen size bed, a small walk way to fit a small closet and attach a cabinet with a coffee maker and a microwave. Bathroom is shared, so don’t expect to have a clean toilet and bath if the other room are messy people. There is no elevator, if you happen to have a room on the 5th floor be ready to climb, to my estimate, 50 degree incline and 4 flights of stairs. Good luck to you if you have big and heavy luggage. My advice if you have big luggage, make sure to get a room on the 1st or 2nd floor.
25 March 2026 — first visit / laptop work in the lounge: ✅ ample seating: communal table, several lounge chairs with coffee style table, individual couch seating, lounge seating for two with regular height table for laptop work. ✅ limited outlets (for seating along the wall) ✅ clean bathrooms (3 stalls for women)
(Room 2206) Beds very comfy, lovely clean linen and towels, friendly reception staff. A great view from room, and great location near Central Park, a couple subway options, and large supermarket directly opposite the hotel. Laundry room worked well and was useful. Daily clean dishes were a bonus. Lacking: a table as in photo on booking.com, it was tricky to eat on our laps. Also lacking a light in the corner behind armchair, was too dark to read. Curtain was broken and old and needs replacing. An electric kettle would be good, and teaspoons. Bathrooms could be and smell cleaner. Missed having a hand held shower head. Hotel Beacon was generally a great base to explore NYC but couldn’t give it a 5 due to the above, just needs a little TLC and updating.
**Review: The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue** The Langham is one of the better hotels in midtown. It’s calm, well-run, and thoughtfully designed. The rooms are large for Manhattan, the beds are excellent, and the staff is professional without being stiff. The building itself feels solid and quiet, with high ceilings and clean lines that make it a genuinely comfortable place to stay. Service has always been good. The front desk handles things smoothly, housekeeping is reliable, and the restaurant does a nice job. It’s a well-managed property that delivers what you expect from a high-end brand. But there’s one problem they never seem to fix: the windows. They’re filthy. Not just dusty or streaked, but coated in grime that hasn’t been touched in years. I’ve stayed here many times over the past two years, and I don’t think they’ve been cleaned once. It’s disappointing because the views are supposed to be one of the hotel’s best features. The Empire State Building should look sharp and close from these rooms, but the dirt turns it into a smudge. It’s a small thing that ends up being a big one. The Langham has everything going for it, but until they deal with the windows, the experience feels incomplete.
- Close to Times Square (1 block up and 1 block across) - Convenience Store/Pizza Store around the corner - elevators are small and very slow (in an "L" Shape) - Guest Laundry down in the basement but not many of the machines were working (coin jams). - They will sell you quarters for the washing machines at Reception - There was one amazing Bus Boy (who ran up the street to get us a taxi) and then there was another one who gave us wrong directions and had us walking for an extra hour! - Use Google Maps! - Beds were comfortable - as were the pillows

**A Truly Exceptional Stay** This hotel exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the warmth and professionalism of the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Breakfast was superb—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Special thanks to Francisco and Flakron, who treated us like royalty. Their attentiveness and impeccable service set a standard that every restaurant should aspire to. They anticipated our needs with grace and made each morning a delight. Equally impressive were the concierge, front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance teams. Every interaction was smooth and thoughtful, and their dedication to excellence did not go unnoticed. Thank you for making our vacation not just pleasurable, but truly memorable.
-Extremely clean room -Big desk to work on or eat on -Love the tv options -Internet is fast -Easy to check in and out -The best you can get in NYC. You won't regret it

Great location, breakfast was not breakfast. They call this a grab and go which is not great value for money. Consisted of water/juice or an instant coffee and a pastry. Elevators were a nightmare. Only one was working and looking at the reviews it does not seem like this will ever be fixed. Sometimes took 20 mins to go up or down. Room was well kept and clean. Cleaning staff were amazing. The room was a bit hot on occasions when on the lowest temperature setting. No fridge or tea/coffee amenities in the room (unless you ask) Nice hotel but let down by the elevators, breakfast and a few things you would expect at this rate. Will stay elsewhere on next visit

I had reserved king size bed, but it was not available. The staff was very welcoming upon arrival though. The view from the room was to a construction next door. The room was clean though and I had plenty of room for one. It was not before morning that I realized that the shower did not work. Never before have I had to wash my hair in the sink when staying in the four star hotel. By the time I got back to the hotel, the shower was still broken. By five maintenance had seen it and by 7pm they changed me to a new room with working shower. The bathroom mirror was coming undone and the room could have used updates, though. To get the shower situation resolved took 4 discussions at the reception with the staff, 2-3 phone calls and a chat with a manager, who promised to compensate my bill. And that was my only full day in NYC. Upon leaving the hotel there was no compensation for the trouble in my bill. The staff member sorted it out though after I had told him about the ordeal the day before.

Terrible experience. We are trying to check in and there is only one person working. We’ve been waiting over an hour and missed our dinner reservation. Don’t recommend this hotel.

I was honestly so amazed at how good this hotel actually was. We were welcomed in a really kind way. The view from our room was so unbelievable. We booked the panoramic king where we had a view of the brooklyn bridge and a little bit of the buildings in midtown. Room was also really clean. We had a problem with he heater in our room. When we told the staff about this on the phone, they sent a mechanic within 5 minutes to look at the problem. He told us he would fix it the next morning and gave us a mini heater for the time being. Next day when we came back from the city it was fixed. Our checkout was at 11 am while our flight was at 9 pm. The staff told us we could leave our luggages behind in the hotel for the time being which I also really liked so we could spent some time in the city before departuring and worrying about dragging our luggages with us. Staff also arranged a taxi for us to go to the airport. Overall really good experience, I would defenitely come back to this hotel again. P.S. We had room 4612, see pictures below for the view.
