**Update: Toronto Public Health inspected this location on January 23, 2026 and issued a Pass. My review reflects my personal experience on January 19. The official inspection report is available through the City of Toronto’s DineSafe program. ** Visited today at approximately 1:00 PM for a drink. While seated at the bar, I observed live cockroaches crawling across the bar area where alcohol bottles are displayed. I took a video at 1:09 PM and left immediately. I did not consume anything further. Toronto Public Health was contacted at 1:41 PM and advised an inspection would be conducted. Posting this to inform others so they can make their own decision. Location: St. Louis Bar & Grill – 595 Bay St. A09, Toronto, ON M5G 2R3
-two locations on the carpet of my room that remained wet for the whole day of my check-in. One smelled like vinegar and the other one was in front of the mini fridge and was sticky. -there was some water on the bathroom floor which got on my big toe, I wiped my toe on the bath towel and it left a black toe print (still only a few hours after checking in). Maybe the floors are hard to clean because the mortar between the tiles are disintegrating. -random crumbs between my fresh bedsheets -breakfast sucks. The only protein is cold ham. No sausage no bacon no eggs. Even the hot chocolate is watery -whole hotel feels damp and outdated. Wouldn't pay $350 a night for this again
1. Phoned to make reservation and inquired about Happy Hour menu and requested reservation for the bar area to use Happy Hour menu- Was seated by hostess and given Happy Hour menus- Was then told -“no we do not have Happy Hour on Saturday” I explained that they took my reservation knowing I wanted this menu, they sat us with the menu and the online menu only stipulated 4-6pm- they should have honoured the menu 2. Asked us if we preferred flat or sparkling water- answered flat. Charged us 3.22 each for flat “distilled water” 3. Charged the designated driver for each club soda- no refills on soda water! Paid $10.50 for 3 small glasses of club soda. 4. Two guests ordered off fresh fish market- $44 for red snapper and served with one potato and some Horta - these guests left still hungry after very small portioned meals. The other two meals ordered were Crispy Halibut and Souvlaki, both on which could have used a few more potatoes. Overall portions are small here. 5. Desserts were $13-$15 and again small portions. 6. Was seated at the bar area for a menu we couldn’t even use- and the entire time we were there was only 2 tables filled so the atmosphere was dull and servers slow. If I had known about the menu not be offered I would have reserved the other side of restaurant that looked more interesting. 7. Be prepared not to see guests on other side of table as the lamp decor too tall and blocked the person at my diagonal of table.
Excellent meal, good atmosphere and perfect service. I will definitely come back!
Great location.
"I'm still on a high from my amazing stay here! Thanks to Conrad!, The hotel exceeded all my expectations - luxurious rooms, world-class dining, and a prime location that made exploring the city a breeze. But what really made it special was the exceptional service - the team were attentive, kind, and genuinely cared about making my stay unforgettable. 10/10 would recommend"
Had booked a double room for 7 nights mid-September 2017. Hotel is 15 minutes walk from nearest subway ( Joyce Collingwood ), part uphill. A small hotel with ground and first floor ; probably 20 odd rooms in total. Complimentary parking in the basement. External look of the hotel is unappealing being on the main road(Kingsway); reception is small but presentable. Were checked into a large room which was dull. Room had 2 Queen beds as the only room available at the time. Dark brown furniture, walls, carpet and curtains. A free standing air conditioner, no wardrobe. Room smelt musty and had large window at the busy main road level hence lacked privacy. No kettle, but a coffee percolator, which was inadequate for boiling water for tea. Bathroom though small had been renovated recently; had a clean and fresh feel. Staff applied air freshener on request. Next morning we asked to be moved. A similar room overlooking the side road was available with a slightly better colour scheme and new fitted wardrobe area. Reception agreed to move us and offered to see if a kettle was available. When it wasn't, and after mentioning it again, they kindly provided one on the 3rd day. We felt more settled after that. Wifi in 2nd room was good and cleaning reasonable. Points to bear in mind. This is a basic hotel. Rooms are large, colour scheme varies from room to room but furniture is the same and outdated. Bathrooms all appear to have been renovated. Very comfortable beds with nice white linen. The hotel is quiet, reception and cleaning staff are very polite and helpful. Nearby are a Safeway supermarket, mainly Vietnamese and Chinese restaurants, pizza take aways and a laundrette. Overall we found the area to be safe with good transport links. However since hotel is not in downtown Vancouver, we consider the hotel overpriced, given rooms need updating.
1. We waited approx 30 for our 8 pm reservation. Why have reservations if they are not honoured in a timely fashion. 2 The noise level was like we were sitting in the kitchen. Could not hear our conversations across the table nor could we hear the specials the server verbally told us. Just give us a printout of the specials on a paper or on an iPad. 3. We ordered still water and bubbly and asked for the water to be left on the table as it was a very hot day. It wasn’t and the server was inattentive when our water glasses were empty. So we self served. 4. We ordered wine .Then, we were moved to a quieter area of the restaurant with a different server. When the wine came, I said to the server that it was this bottle was not the one we ordered. The server still poured the wine into the wine carafe. I asked if I could see the bottle. Sure enough, we were given a different bottle than the one we ordered. 5. When the server approached our table she always interrupted our conversation rather than waiting for a pause to ask her question(s) 6. The meal arrived which was tasty! Whew! 7. Then there was a mixup with the desserts. One order was incorrect and one couple had to wait 20 minutes for their dessert. Sadly, it was the newly engaged couple and the reason why we were out for this dinner. So, 1/7 for a high end restaurant. I am so disappointed! I hope management will try to address these issues so that this once great restaurant can regain our attendance. In the meantime, we will go elsewhere.
2 adults & teenage child, room was basically clean but hotel was very dingy, water stains on the ceiling, laminate coming off the countertop, counter not screwed to the wall, an old mattress left in the hall, very questionable and loud 'grunts' coming out of the room beside the stairway, sketchy parking area. okay for a really cheap one night stay if you absoultly need it - but we left after one night eventhough we planned on staying longer. look down kingsway a few blocks, you'll have better luck. it has a place for very cheap, one night, hostle type accommodation, but dont expect much and you wont be dissapointed.
Great food! Great service - Thank you Alex! We didn’t have a reservation but was fortunate enough to get a seat at a high top table shared by others. Food was excellent especially the Jackfruit Burger. Decor and atmosphere awesome! Will definitely go again!
We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary with lunch for 6, arranged by our bridesmaids. We could not have asked for a better celebration of this special occasion. The food was marvellous and the service by the amazing Michael G was impeccable. Michael just made our day. He was respectful, humorous, efficient and made such a lovely fuss of us. His timing was perfect and we never felt rushed. We just felt so special. Michael was also very considerate, patient and creative with taking photos of our group, both at the table and in the courtyard, once other guests had left. Thoughtful touches acknowledging our Golden Anniversary were also greatly appreciated. Most of us tried the delicious, chilled green pea soup, several had the steak frites, I had the quiche and we were all very pleased with our choices. I had not been to Auberge du Pommier for more than a decade when I used to come for business lunches. I loved the restaurant then and I love them now. They did not disappoint. A perfect venue for a celebration with its wonderful, welcoming ambience. Parking was a slight challenge as my husband uses a walker. We parked underground then realized there was no elevator so he had to climb the stairs and leave the walker in the car. We should have checked this out beforehand. When we left, I picked him up outside the restaurant. There is no parking validation for lunch so it cost $18. There is a main floor washroom but there are a couple of steps which we'd been warned of beforehand. I don't believe there was a ramp but could be wrong. This might be an issue for wheelchair users.
Sarah the guest service was fabulous✨ Ravi also the 2nd guest service was great! Friendly staff and beautiful hotel room and facilities✨ Location was great. Gym is great. People who lives there are great

Exquisite decor and top-tier service from Jonathan and Julian define this elegant spot. Chefs Kevin and Donald deliver a superb lobster risotto and mushroom soup. However, lowering the loud contemporary music for classical would better match the atmosphere.

I recently celebrated a birthday at Dorsia in Old Port, and the entire experience truly exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we had stepped into a Michelin-star restaurant in the heart of Paris. The atmosphere is elegant and refined, creating the perfect setting for a special occasion. As for the food, it was absolutely unbelievable. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, clearly crafted with care and precision. I would highly recommend Dorsia to anyone looking for a top-tier dining experience in Old Montreal. It’s the perfect spot for celebrating something special or simply enjoying an exceptional night out.

Room 327, 3 nights. The good: Location, renovated rooms, views, decent breakfast at pub (not included in room price). The bad: Where do I begin.... Parking facility in the rear is inadequate for space, why is it not secured? Anyone can break in ...the alley has plenty of drug users and homeless. Room windows are paper thin, bring ear plugs, you will need them, regardless of the floor. So much street noise, barely slept. Mouse trap in room, and everywhere in public areas, I witnessed a mouse in the lobby several times. Bed was ok, pillows are terrible, and what's with the plastic tags on the pillows? Overall, this is one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed at. No point in having newer looking rooms if you feel you have the same noise inside the room as outside. Mouse problem should have city health inspections there on a regular basis. I've stayed in other downtown Vancouver hotels in the past, none have ever had this problem.

We arrived in Vancouver after staying in Whistler for a week. I was informed by a friend that North Vancouver was the best place to stay. Seaside Hotel was right in the area. I was a bit lost on how to get inside but when we figured that out it was a complete escape. The people were so friendly and helpful. They were quick at loading up our stuff to our room. Mark spent the extra time explaining the light switches, the taps and all the items the room came with. The cleaning staff the next day were all smiling and welcoming and despite the fact we said we didn’t need the bed made, they were still offering any help needed that they were there. This place is a great location and I would highly recommend
