Top complaints

  • Chicken was burnt and overcooked. Staff are lazy and was too busy on their phones most of the time. Place wasn't bus. The bathroom and seating areas were not cleaned properly. Items weren't stocked such as cups and utensils. This location is not like it use to be. (0.0%)
  • Concept and food choices are great. It’s convenient and close to work. However, today I had it with how the employees/management treat customers like inconveniences and cattle. They are rude most times when replenishing the salad bar area and impatient with customers in general when they are trying to go about their daily work. I get you have a job to do but be polite, be kind, say excuse me nicely, announce to customers your intentions, instead of impatiently jumping in front of them. Explain their will be a delay or if you are exchanging an item in midst of someone serving themselves, at least apologize for the interruption. And this happens daily, I’m here daily to witness and experience it. Normally I just ignore or deal with it. But today’s experience was enough for me to just walk out and not spend money here anymore. An item I was literally serving myself was pulled away and taken without explanation, then the female manager impatiently telling me excuse me twice with an eye roll, so she can write name of dish on the glass. She then stared me down when I commented they could be more polite and explain their intentions. Step up your customer service, we are not doing you a favor, we are choosing to eat here and spend our money here. And if management is rude your staff will think it’s ok to behave the same. (0.0%)
  • Delivery orders from this location always manage to get “stolen” and the store is very unhelpful in handling the issue (if they ever even answer the phone). If these orders are genuinely being stolen then they should really implement a new system to make sure it doesn’t happen. (0.0%)

  • 4 stars because we only got oysters and a drink but the vintage French atmosphere is awesome! (0.0%)
  • A bit overpriced but cool atmosphere (0.0%)

  • $40 for 3 mini buttered white bread rolls filled with average lobster, wines are overpriced. nice area of sidewalk tables, very cramped bar area full of noxious sexist white guys. (0.0%)
  • Admittedly I've not been to 100 steakhouses, I have however been to many and I wouldn't put Swift & Sons up there. Yes, the service was good. Yes the burger was good. However, none of it was top rating. I was also disappointed by the atmosphere, there wasn't a buzz (though obviously that is very subjective). The house red though is very good. (0.0%)
  • angry waiter. not sure why. food was below par. atmosphere is clean and bright . don't recommend and will not return. we were also given leftovers from another table instead of the additional to go food we ordered and paid for. disgusting. (0.0%)

  • 10 years living in Chicago, at least 15 visits to Bavette’s and it’s always been the best steakhouse in Chicago. Excellent cuts, great service, and incredible atmosphere. Can’t go wrong with their sides or seafood tower but the Dry Aged meats are phenomenal. If you’re looking for a good steakhouse in Chicago, this is where to go. (0.0%)
  • 4 of us visited and loved the place. We were booked for 9pm but they managed to squeeze us in at 8.30pm which was impressive given how busy it was. We had a number of small plates. The pig's ear was a stand out favourite but all were good. Great atmosphere and nice wine selection. Don't normally get to sweets but the pistachio crème brûlée was unbelievable. (0.0%)
  • 5 out of 5. We were lucky to grab a bar table on a busy Friday night with no reservations. The drink menus is unique but standards drinks were made well too. Amy was our waitress and she couldn’t have been more friendly ~ especially considering how busy it was. We just had filets and broccolini- all cooked to perfection! The atmosphere was “hopping” but we were able to have good conversations since we were off to the side. We happened to stumble across this seafood and steakhouse. It is “pricey” but everything was excellent. I ended up Buying two of their “Joe’s” salt tubs for Christmas presents which ink w will Be enjoyed! Thanks Amy! You made our evening fabulous ! (0.0%)

Google Maps · Complaint quote

"It's just overall mediocre. I think overall all chipotle locations have gone downhill. It cost me over $20 for a quesadilla and guac. At almost $5 for just under 4 oz of guac, it needs to be better guac. The guac I got was just smashed avocado. It had no onion, salt, lime, or any kind of seasoning. I just don't think I will be patronizing any chipotle restaurants anymore. They charge sit down restaurant prices for lackluster food and poor portions."

"A great place downtown with a pleasant atmosphere and a modern menu. I had a burger and a drink, everything was delicious and high-quality, and the service was fast and friendly."

"We were seated upstairs this time around. It’s much quieter and no communal seating where you’re literally sitting next to other parties downstairs. The service is friendly and attentive. Marcos our server anticipated our needs, always checking in with us to see if we needed anything. The food pace was perfect, not rushed or too long of a wait for each course. We ordered through the restaurant week menu and also ordered the lamb sausage pizza. Everything was delicious and savory. The kale salad is big enough for two to share. The chorizo stuffed date wrapped in bacon was not overly spicy and savory. The paella was incredible, served hot in a mini cast iron pan so that the rice had yummy bits of crispy rice mixed in. Just wished that the shrimp was bigger. We loved the rice pudding…love the salt in the pistachio bits with the sweetness of the pudding. My only beef - The restaurant was not bashful to add the 3.5% hospitality fee. Why not just raise the prices??? Will return because the food and service is good. Atmosphere kind of bland. Nothing special."
