A very big warning against the Da Vinci Hotel, which will be quite difficult to find as their quite dirty old front is somewhat hidden in the quite dirty street they're located in, and doesn’t reflect their prices. In general, the hotel is nothing like on the website - while looking like a fancy boutique hotel on the official pictures, the lobby is quite shabby and there’s a strong odour of the quite distinct rat- and cockroach repellent which is being used in old buildings in New York. As the hotel has a restaurant in the basement and is old and unmaintained, the pests come up to the rooms and there was a quite large cockroach in my room. My room was their most expensive category and the TV, which I had paid a lot of money to be able to relax in front of, did not work. The hotel staff and management were quite arrogant about it, just said the maintenance person was “out of town” all day and evening - and maybe the next day too. A Wednesday in Times Square? Booking.com did what they could to get my money back from the management but didn’t succeed and instead gave me a voucher. There’s in particular one receptionist who's quite nasty, will speak your first name in a condescending way etc. Both receptionists were shockingly dishonest. Also, please note that unless you buy the most expensive category, which is often more expensive than the last-minute deals at the nearby Hilton and Marriott hotels, your room will face back walls and noisy restaurant fans, not a very charming situation. This review will go back on top of Google a couple of times a month to warn other travellers as I know how much most people look forward to their sometimes once-in-a-lifetime New York trip. Furthermore, many people don’t like to leave negative feedback or forget to leave it and just stay away. Do yourself a favour and choose any other hotel in the area. Da Vinci Hotel clearly does not deserve to be in business and probably won't be for very much longer. Give yourself a better New York experience than described in the above - You deserve it.

$700+/night?! Dirty room carpets, no coffee machines, bed side outlets connected to the light switch?! (re: phone doesn’t charge at night), bathroom auto light switch?! (re: turns fully on when enter at night), neighboring doors slamming (re: doors with no soft close), almost none re:outside noise insulation. I hoped it was just my bad experience, but management confirmed the owners visited the hotel couple weeks prior my stay and apparently planned on changing “things”. Great location, but why charging so much for so little?

1. Air conditioner is ridiculously loud 2. Only one out of the three elevators work 3. The TV can’t be connected to any signals so you can’t watch anything. 4. Very loud noises from the street

*2 NIGHT STAY = 2 STAR?!?!* Room (both pro & cons) 3/5 Service - 2/10: TERRIBLE RECEPTIONIST Location - 5/5 Pros: Excellent location nearby many tourist areas, seconds from the airport, restaurants and more - I’d say all within a 15 minute proximity and about 20-25 minutes from downtown Buffalo. Being by an airport it was not loud at all and in a very quiet area on a dead end road. Newly renovated - rooms were done when we were there (however there are cons). Annie the breakfast host was amazing very sociable and acted very quickly for servicing breakfast. Cons: Front desk lady was awfully quiet, hardly spoke and was very straight faced which is not typical of all the experiences we have had at Holiday Inns (she had braids in her hair & a orange knit sweater on & believe her name was Oryal/Oryalle/Iroyal). She would never greet us or ask how we were. The renovations that took place affected breakfast accessibility to the point the breakfast hostess was overwhelmed with tons of guests in a small room, shortage of food and managing rude guests and we felt terribly bad she didn’t have additional help. The pool was closed during Reno’s and nobody informed us. People are not respectful in the breakfast environment (which is not the fault of hotel however forewarning) and a man even coughed on the food, and some took a lot for themselves or used their hands. Also, some of our yogurt was expired!! From the second we walked in our room there was residue on the floor like it had not been washed (we didn’t complain as it was late and our first night - SEE PHOTO ATTACHED) Then throughout our stay my child who does not walk yet was crawling on our hotel room floors and his socks were so dirty just from being on the floors (his socks were brand new - see photo attached of why I had to change his socks before even going out). Lastly, hairs in the shower, a bobby pin on the floor, & a nail near the air conditioning that could have been very harmful. A room can be newly renovated but if it’s dirty then what does that tell you? Overall 2/5 MAYBE a 3. This could be improved and I’d have no complaints if it was looked after with housekeepers improving their cleaning practices, a new receptionist attitude, and when done the renovations the hotel will be beautiful without a doubt! I’m not one to write reviews and rarely complain but felt compelled to write this. For $600+ for 2 nights we experienced less than what we had hoped.

1-Star Review: Arlo Soho – Extremely Disappointing New Year’s Eve Experience I booked a 5-night stay at Arlo Soho from December 27, 2025, to January 1, 2026, excited for a fun holiday getaway in New York, especially after my friend raved about the hotel and its supposedly amazing rooftop party on New Year’s Eve. Upon check-in, the staff explicitly told us that the rooftop NYE party was free for hotel guests – we just needed our room key to enter. No RSVP required. My girlfriend and I were thrilled; it sounded like the perfect way to ring in the new year with skyline views, music, and vibes. A couple of days later, I double-checked at the front desk about any RSVP or details, and again, they confirmed it was free for guests – just show your key and walk in. No mention of any changes or fees. Then, on New Year’s Eve itself, just three hours before the party started, we were suddenly informed that the event was not free and tickets cost $300 per person. We were furious! We’d planned our evening around this, assuming it was complimentary as repeatedly told by multiple staff members. My girlfriend doesn’t drink, so paying $300 each for a 5-hour open-bar event made zero sense – it would have been mostly wasted on us. By that point, most good NYE spots in the city were already sold out, leaving us with no real alternatives. We ended up having a quiet, disappointing night in our room instead of the celebratory evening we’d been looking forward to. This blatant misinformation from the staff ruined what could have been a highlight of our trip. The hotel’s communication was inconsistent and misleading, and they showed no flexibility for the last-minute change. Avoid booking here if you’re planning around special events – clearly, the front desk staff aren’t on the same page, and it can lead to major letdowns. I expected better from a trendy SoHo spot. Very disappointed.

1/5 Stars – Disappointing Stay with Unresolved Maintenance Issues I had a deeply frustrating stay at The Gallivant Times Square due to multiple unresolved maintenance issues that made my room uncomfortable and disrupted my rest. The air conditioner was completely nonfunctional, blowing no air. I reported this to the front desk multiple times, but despite assurances that someone would “check it out,” no maintenance staff arrived. When reporting on the second day the front desk clerk stated that the maintenance person came to the room and knocked and claimed we had a do not disturb sign on the door (neither was true). Out of desperation, I had to clean the AC filter and condenser coils myself, which is unacceptable for a guest. The room’s condition was equally poor. One blackout shade was missing, and the other was broken, leaving the room exposed to light. With the AC broken, I had to crack the window for air, which let in constant street noise all night. This, combined with sleeping on top of the blankets to minimize sweating and the constant street noise , made sleep nearly impossible. The mattress was in terrible shape, with blown springs, divots, and lumps, forcing me to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed to find any comfort. Additionally, one of the three elevators was out of service, causing lengthy wait times that added to the inconvenience. I expected basic functionality and prompt service from a Times Square hotel, but my concerns were met with dismissive responses. Also the only functional ice machine in the building is on the 4th floor and only serves a small amount of crushed ice and was frequently empty. The filtered water button on the ice machine is also broken. Speaking with many other guests we weren’t the only ones experiencing these issues. These issues align with other reviews mentioning maintenance and staff responsiveness problems. I strongly urge management to address these recurring issues to improve guest experiences

1980 meets gross Family of 4 (two boys one 6 one 2) Stayed one night, mainly picked because it was attached to the water park, call it convenience but Oh God, do you pay for the convenience. We stayed in room 2006 Got there Thursday, left on a Friday, Included a Friday's Breakfast and by the time all the fees were done that one night was $400 (this may have included the waterpark admin but not 100%sure on that). The hotel itself looked like something that hasn't seen any updates since 1980.Our room had a light that did not work, a standup lamp that was falling apart, beds where you can feel every spring you were lying on and a bathroom that I didn't want to be in without having shoes on. The rooms surround a courtyard that is a fair size, where the kids tend to run around even though there are signs saying no running around / no Alcohol / No ball hockey etc…. In the courtyard all the rules are not enforced by any staff. Kids were running loops around the upper level till 10:30pm and you sure could hear every lap they did, there were kids playing ball hockey with mini-sticks. The really only nice thing about this entire hotel was location. A short walk across the parking lot was the casino, a short walk out the front door was Clifton Hill and you could stay inside and walk to the water park from the hotel. If you want a gross room in a un-updated hotel that is loud and so so super expensive then sure pick this one. I will not be returning, for the price I would have rather have stayed at Sheraton. *Be warned Parking is TIGHT!!! like real tight, we have a full size truck and it took some back-and-forth to get out of a parking spot and I witnessed cars scrap the crap out the front end trying to park.*

10/10 Experince This is the first time I have stayed in a hostel, and it was a 10/10 experience. First, the location is prime; you can walk everywhere, and it's safe to do so. I even did so at night as a female. The staff was super nice and helpful, and there is someone at the check-in 24/7, which makes it feel more secure. The room and amenities are super aesthetic, with good bathroom products. It was giving luxury and gave you everything you needed. The floors are co-ed by the way, just an FYI. I wasn't expecting the ceiling to be open in a way, and you can hear if someone is snoring. However, they do provide an eyemask, earplugs, and a sound machine, so with that, you can't hear anyone else, and I had a great sleep during my stay. I would definitely come back again!

11/19/22. Pre-pandemic and again now, we search for Manhattan restaurants where the food is well prepared and delicious, and the ambience is calm, lovely, & QUIET. As we found NOCELLO through reviews on Trip advisor, I am now writing to thank those who pointed us there, and add our praise. I also want to thank the owner, Constantino, who personally added to our enjoyment of the evening.

1Hotel Central Park is a wonderful space and perfect hideaway. The staff is incredibly kind and supportive. They truly are the heart of 1Hotel. The rooms are exceptionally comfortable, clean, and quiet and the hotel's commitment to sustainability is evident in every detail. The service for our event on the second floor was impressive in its ease and attentiveness.

The food is good but overpriced. This is because your paying for the view. Go on a slow day. The service will be better and the noise will be much lower.

Not Happy This is a beautiful hotel with lovely views and we splurged on it in order to provide our granddaughter with a graduation gift. I could have left excellent reviews if we had not encountered what I will describe next: 1. We had a beautiful 2-room suite with a gorgeous view. This suite had 1 coffee maker in the front room with the Falls vista and as I am an early riser, I called and requested a second coffee maker to be put in the second bedroom so that I did not interrupt the sleep of those in the front room. I was told that Guest Services would check into whether or not this was doable but they were doubtful that a second machine would be possible. I then requested that if another coffee maker was not possible could we have additional coffee pods to support all 3 of us coffee drinkers. Upon returning to our room from our daily excursions, we did not see a second coffee maker as requested but we did find that a bag of coffee pods and cream had been left on the counter next to the original coffee maker in the front room. We accepted this situation and from then on, I just tip-toed into the room on my early wakeup time and tried not to wake up the front room sleeper. The real problem reared up upon check-out when I saw an additional Hyatt line-item charge on my credit card with no explanation. Upon calling the Hyatt, I was informed that I was charged for taking (stealing) the coffee maker. I find this alleged crime I am committed of to be outrageous. First of all, we DID NOT, nor ever would we, steal a coffee maker from the Hyatt or from anyone for that matter. Secondly, as mentioned above, we never received a second coffee maker to the room; or if we did, it was not in plain site because we never saw one. And, to top it off, there was no explanation of any kind to this charge on my credit card. I found the unsubstantiated, erroneous charge for myself and then had to dig in to find out why. Upon my inquiry with the Hyatt, I was given the customer service officer’s number but was only brought to a voice mail box where I left messages describing this situation. I have not heard back as to any restoration of this situation. This claim not only sounds like an egregious accusation for Hyatt to make against me but it also has the markings of a scam. 2. As per servicing the room, we did not receive service on our second full day of stay. Other than the bag of coffee pods brought to the room, our room was not refreshed or serviced. The beds were not made, the toweling was not refreshed, etc.

Excellent hotel great location friendly service Beautiful room, great friendly accommodating service. Minutes to the falls Amsterdam free bus that tours attractions. One thing about the room is the temp controls. I should have just asked how to regulate it. Room was nice and dark and quiet. Very nice stay and would highly recommend .good restaurants too.
