A very big warning against the Da Vinci Hotel, which will be quite difficult to find as their quite dirty old front is somewhat hidden in the quite dirty street they're located in, and doesn’t reflect their prices. In general, the hotel is nothing like on the website - while looking like a fancy boutique hotel on the official pictures, the lobby is quite shabby and there’s a strong odour of the quite distinct rat- and cockroach repellent which is being used in old buildings in New York. As the hotel has a restaurant in the basement and is old and unmaintained, the pests come up to the rooms and there was a quite large cockroach in my room. My room was their most expensive category and the TV, which I had paid a lot of money to be able to relax in front of, did not work. The hotel staff and management were quite arrogant about it, just said the maintenance person was “out of town” all day and evening - and maybe the next day too. A Wednesday in Times Square? Booking.com did what they could to get my money back from the management but didn’t succeed and instead gave me a voucher. There’s in particular one receptionist who's quite nasty, will speak your first name in a condescending way etc. Both receptionists were shockingly dishonest. Also, please note that unless you buy the most expensive category, which is often more expensive than the last-minute deals at the nearby Hilton and Marriott hotels, your room will face back walls and noisy restaurant fans, not a very charming situation. This review will go back on top of Google a couple of times a month to warn other travellers as I know how much most people look forward to their sometimes once-in-a-lifetime New York trip. Furthermore, many people don’t like to leave negative feedback or forget to leave it and just stay away. Do yourself a favour and choose any other hotel in the area. Da Vinci Hotel clearly does not deserve to be in business and probably won't be for very much longer. Give yourself a better New York experience than described in the above - You deserve it.
Good location for couples. Everything is local. The things I found disturbing is … 1- Apparently there is a $75 fee charge when you check in. That’s never happened before at the other locations. 2- the guy at the front desk said there was an extra charge for a handicap room and asked me what my handicap is. I didn’t like that at all. Also when I made reservations I requested a handicap room. He did eventually let me have the room for the same price when I asked if that was legal. So just be aware of any fees. The rest of the hotel stay was fine. A lot of freeway noise because half the hotel faces the freeway. The rooms were very clean though and the front desk clerk had a soft voice so that was comforting.
I had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had while delivering an order here 10/30/25 approximately at 6:17am . When I arrived, I greeted the security guard politely — we acknowledged each other with a simple “good morning.” Everything seemed fine at first. But as soon as I entered the building, the same guard suddenly followed me inside and started questioning me aggressively about where I was going, even though I clearly said I was delivering for DoorDash. Before I could even explain further, the woman at the front desk jumped in and started yelling across the lobby, talking over me, and demanding to know what I was doing there. Both she and the guard were loud, rude, and completely unprofessional — treating me like I didn’t belong there at all. The way they handled me was unnecessary, humiliating, and felt like clear profiling. I was just trying to do my job, and instead I was disrespected and singled out for no reason. No one deserves to be treated that way — especially not someone just delivering food. If management cares about their reputation or about basic human respect, they need to seriously retrain or replace their front staff and security. Their behavior was unacceptable and reflects very poorly on this establishment.
0 out of 5 stars This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. What Pembroke Inn advertises on Expedia is nowhere near the reality of staying there. The photos leave out a major issue: there is a high rise construction site directly beside the hotel. The noise started as early as 6:30 AM with garbage trucks, followed by banging and construction noise starting around 7 AM. The noise inside the hotel was just as bad. There is almost no sound isolation between rooms. I could hear people talking, TVs playing, and people above me stomping around like they were moving furniture all day. Not one minute of my stay was peaceful or enjoyable, except when I finally walked out the door to leave. The hotel itself had an overpowering, unpleasant scent throughout the building, as if it was trying to cover up something worse. The building felt old, poorly maintained, and nothing like what was advertised. The staff were also extremely unprofessional. After my first complaint about the noise, a staff member followed me down the hallway to my room and questioned whether it was even loud. That made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed. The problems continued. Even with earplugs, the bathroom fan running, and the AC on high all night, I still could not block out the noise from people partying at 11 PM, even though the hotel claims to have quiet hours starting at 8 PM. Housekeeping was also a major issue. I checked in on Sunday and was told cleaners come every second day. That turned out not to be true. After being away at meetings all day, I returned to find that my room had not been cleaned, the bed was not made, coffee was not refilled, soap was not replaced, towels were not changed, and I was left without toilet paper after running out that morning. When I brought this up, the first response was basically that it was my fault for not asking. The second solution offered was for me to pack up all of my belongings and move rooms, which was completely unreasonable after a long day. After about 30 minutes of arguing in the lobby, I was finally handed toilet paper, towels, and allowed to pick out three coffee pods. The room itself was also unacceptable. There was OSB board painted white installed on the windows, visible mold in the bathroom, and the shower head sprayed water everywhere. For a hotel charging over $250 per night, this was shocking. Between the construction noise, poor soundproofing, lack of cleanliness, poor service, bad maintenance, mold, and misleading advertising, I would never recommend Pembroke Inn. This was not just disappointing. It was unacceptable.
Clean and quiet
Great hotel, except for the area but there was security outside and everything was quiet. Only problem, I've been asking for the invoice for a week and no one is responding
$100+/night for Union Square location, clean room, working bathroom, working Wi-Fi, complimentary breakfast and round-the-clock tea/coffee/water! Apart from the loud heating pipes in the room, it really did its job for my 5D/4N stay in San Francisco. Thank You to the gentleman at the reception who was kind enough to offer us takeaways upon our early check-out at 5+am. I’ll be back!
$5 shuttle fee, clean rooms, good service Called for the shuttle, it picked me up within 20 minutes of calling. I failed to read that it was a $5 charge for shuttle service when booking, so it did surprise me, but it's on their website. I just got as far as "airport shuttle" icon and I was good to go. But again my fault. Just wanting others not be be surprised. Front desk staff kind. I was able to request a late check out. Bistro attendant was pleasant and the food was good. Room was clean and very welcoming (it felt like pure luxury after a week in a subpar room at the Hilton in Brighton, England) and feeling like it was 3am. My only complaints and reason for only 4 stars is that I had requested a late check out. I needed to sleep in. Housekeeping woke me up sometime 8:30ish AM and Now I'm wide awake with only 5 hours of sleep. The other is that either the elevator or ice maker makes this HORRIBLE moaning sound. It kept me awake until finally I scrounged for ear plugs. While my room was close by those two items, I'm guessing it can be heard many rooms away.
$50 a night to park…..$100 per night hold for incidentals…. I may have chosen a different location if I knew there was a $50 per night valet charge, with no option to self park. It took us 30 minutes to get our car parked. The room has K Cups for coffee but the pot is not a Keurig. I am not sure what the $100 per night hold on my account is for. The location is convenient for the wedding we were attending downtown, There are lots of places to eat. We used Uber and Bird Scooters for short trips. Our room was on the side of hotel near interstate so there was some hiway noise which is to be expected. There was construction next door but we did not hear noise from it. Hotel is very convenient to Georgia Tech.
$10 parking fee, great walking distance to restaurants Originally, I sent my partner to this hotel and she loved it so much we decided to come back and enjoy a few days in here. We did book during the week and because we had planned on other means of transportation, we decided to leave our car at the hotel. This particular hotel has a ton of rooms and the parking is limited, there is a $10 a day fee but get there earlier than check in and plan to walk around the wonderful city! Check in was a breeze, they offer sundries near the check in counter; complimentary coffee, water, a gym, in room fridge, microwave and free hot breakfast. The layout of the hotel its self is U shaped with rooms inside which means some of the rooms face each other and others outside. We got room 414, the view was terrible but thankfully we couldn’t hear the traffic outside so if you are looking for some peace and quiet and not care about the view then request for an inside room. Breakfast was great, since we were there for 2 days, we got different items each day; fried eggs, sausage, potatoes one day and scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes the next. Staff was really friendly, especially the security guard at night. There are so many restaurants close to the hotel within walking distance! Also, the metro is less than a 5 min walk. We also got room 403 that was superb! Thanks Alex! How likely would I come back or recommend this place 8/10!

$50/day surprise resort fee not mentioned in my original booking. Half the restaurants pictured not there. Pool/hot tub closed for winter. Long check in lines. Check in and rewards kiosks did not work so everyone had to wait in line for the 1-2 people working at the front desk. Beautiful hotel with lots to do and I highly recommend the king suite with the view of the strip - it did feel worth the extra $20 and was a HUGE room for just one person. VERY QUIET. Only one elevator working so a lot of us stood in line for it. Weirdly there is a glass window that went from my shower into my bedroom so glad I wasn't staying with anyone else. Even my partner would have a problem with that because it gave a clear view to the toilet - felt very Vegas but maybe not practical... Loved the dressing room lights around the mirrors and this had two sinks/get ready areas one inside and outside of the bathroom along with a closet and desk and couch and coffee table and fridge - no microwave - really could have used that. TV and dresser and two night stands. Plenty of space for activities. Starbucks in the resort which was convenient, but you can only pre-order through the app if you have a Starbucks card. Bring your own tea bags and you can get a cup of hot water from them for $1.08, which is better than spending $10 for their mint majesty tea. Would have loved to try breakfast at the hotel, but the restaurant didn't open until 7am and I left before then. Most of the restaurants, shows, and shops were closed when I was there, but it was a Wednesday night so maybe that's why.

A calamity of issues... First, and this was probably my fault because I should have checked ahead of time, there is no on-site parking. The hotel directed us to a parking garage about three blocks away, which was inconvenient when unloading luggage. Second, the noise level was unacceptable. There were bars next to the hotel with loud music until around 2:00 a.m., and a trolley runs nearby until midnight before starting again around 6:00 a.m. Getting a good night's sleep was nearly impossible. Finally, as we were checking out, the hotel entrance was being pressure washed. We had to walk through the area and ended up getting soaked. Unfortunately, this stay did not meet our expectations. If you're looking for a quieter, more convenient experience in downtown Buffalo, I would recommend considering a different hotel.

Not Happy This is a beautiful hotel with lovely views and we splurged on it in order to provide our granddaughter with a graduation gift. I could have left excellent reviews if we had not encountered what I will describe next: 1. We had a beautiful 2-room suite with a gorgeous view. This suite had 1 coffee maker in the front room with the Falls vista and as I am an early riser, I called and requested a second coffee maker to be put in the second bedroom so that I did not interrupt the sleep of those in the front room. I was told that Guest Services would check into whether or not this was doable but they were doubtful that a second machine would be possible. I then requested that if another coffee maker was not possible could we have additional coffee pods to support all 3 of us coffee drinkers. Upon returning to our room from our daily excursions, we did not see a second coffee maker as requested but we did find that a bag of coffee pods and cream had been left on the counter next to the original coffee maker in the front room. We accepted this situation and from then on, I just tip-toed into the room on my early wakeup time and tried not to wake up the front room sleeper. The real problem reared up upon check-out when I saw an additional Hyatt line-item charge on my credit card with no explanation. Upon calling the Hyatt, I was informed that I was charged for taking (stealing) the coffee maker. I find this alleged crime I am committed of to be outrageous. First of all, we DID NOT, nor ever would we, steal a coffee maker from the Hyatt or from anyone for that matter. Secondly, as mentioned above, we never received a second coffee maker to the room; or if we did, it was not in plain site because we never saw one. And, to top it off, there was no explanation of any kind to this charge on my credit card. I found the unsubstantiated, erroneous charge for myself and then had to dig in to find out why. Upon my inquiry with the Hyatt, I was given the customer service officer’s number but was only brought to a voice mail box where I left messages describing this situation. I have not heard back as to any restoration of this situation. This claim not only sounds like an egregious accusation for Hyatt to make against me but it also has the markings of a scam. 2. As per servicing the room, we did not receive service on our second full day of stay. Other than the bag of coffee pods brought to the room, our room was not refreshed or serviced. The beds were not made, the toweling was not refreshed, etc.

Excellent hotel great location friendly service Beautiful room, great friendly accommodating service. Minutes to the falls Amsterdam free bus that tours attractions. One thing about the room is the temp controls. I should have just asked how to regulate it. Room was nice and dark and quiet. Very nice stay and would highly recommend .good restaurants too.
