I strongly recommend staying away from this venue. My experiences with the staff at Sugar and Tea Room were extremely disappointing, and it seems clear that something in their management or operations has changed. This may explain why fewer classy, self-respecting patrons appear to be attending compared to the past. I used to visit these venues frequently, but on one occasion I was abruptly escorted out without any explanation. I later heard from others that if you are not continuously purchasing drinks, staff may single you out and ask you to leave. I am not a heavy drinker, but had I been treated with basic respect, I would have gladly spent full evenings there enjoying dinner and supporting the business. On previous visits, security staff would oddly sit next to me and ask if I was “okay,” as if there were an issue when there clearly wasn’t. On another occasion, I was simply told to leave with no explanation whatsoever. I am a well-dressed, respectful, and well-groomed individual, and the only apparent reason for this treatment seemed to be that I was not repeatedly purchasing overpriced drinks or reserving a table. Look out for a short mini version of Jackie Chan looking staff who goes around taking notes and passing the message to security. Staff constantly patrol and watch guests throughout the venue, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere and discourages patrons from ordering at their own pace. Instead of feeling relaxed and welcomed, I felt pressured and unwelcome. Additionally, having previously worked closely with city code compliance, I noticed that the hallway connecting Sugar and Tea Room appears far too narrow during their over-capacity weekend nights. In the event of an emergency, this could potentially present a serious fire hazard. I am unsure whether the city or fire department is aware of this issue. I am a reasonable and respectful person, and I would not have posted this review had management simply provided an explanation or apology after I reached out privately. I did receive an initial response saying they would follow up, but no further communication ever came. Brickell now offers many better options, and I have been treated far more professionally at other venues. Until I receive a sincere apology and a genuine welcome back, I see no reason to remove this review or return.
If you ever been to jail or military then this will bring back memories NOT TRULY A HOSTEL more like a flop house in the 80s not cooking areas not even outside but it is a safe-ish enough environment 25$ for a bunk bed and that's pretty much it check your sheets and pillow case mine had the last girls chap stick in the pillow case 🫣
$35 for tiny pieces of oxtail. lol never again. At some point you’ll have fooled everyone in the Orlando area and you’ll go out of business.

Great location
Husband and I went to this location in Orlando over the summer, which the service kinda sucked, and he had a hard time getting any meats. We decided to go back one more time on Dec 23rd and give them another chance. Big mistake. As he got towards the end of his meal, he noticed the meat smelled off and decided to stop eating. It wasn’t long after that he started feeling sick, but we thought maybe he was dehydrated. Later that night he ended up getting violently sick. We had only ate one time that day and it was at Fogo. After he immediately felt better. Fogo served meat that was expired. He left a review on yelp and google, as anyone would do after such an experience, and Fogo deleted them. Beware…they’re hiding their bad reviews and do not care that they’ve made people sick. For the price you have to pay for their full experience, it’s a slap in the face. I will check back for my review and if it’s deleted, I’ll repost it til it stays.
$225 a night Hostel We were heading to the keys for a wedding and my wife booked this place, for a night in Miami. Its not a Marriott hotel, its a $225 a night hostel! The room is smaller then my walk in closet. The shower and the toilet are the same space. Even the remote shades didn't work.. not even a plastic glass for water in the room. I had to go to the lobby, i tried to buy a bottle of water, they only had sparkling. Omg, i got two glasses from the bar, so I could brush my teeth. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid. Unless all you looking for is a raised bed, pushed up against the wall, there is storage underneath, because its nowhere else.
$33.87 parking fee for 30 minutes ! Yesterday I was picking up a guest at the hotel and was directed to the parking garage. Thirty minutes later, I exited the parking and was told to pay $33.87. I complained that this was outrageous and the attendant (Jean-Paul) told me that it was the overnight charge !!! I demanded to talk to his supervisor and he told me that there was no supervisor on site, as this was a holiday but, he offered to open the gate for me in exchange for $15 cash !!! This is a ripoff coupled with extorsion ! I will make sure never to go to this hotel !!!
$260 "Day Room" needs a plumber 25Feb2026 Pro: location; kind and helpful front desk, clean Con: miahotel.com does not list "day room" service which front desk offered me at 4AM when all $147 twin rooms were occupied; bathtub drain in room 661 needs plumbing
1) Family owned and operated: That isn't just a catch phrase or something written in their marketing. Often, a family member will stop by to inquire about your meal. They're very hands on with their restaurant and why shouldn't they be? They're charging good money for a good steak... better ensure its good (and it is)! 2) Quality of the food: We'll get a bone-in-ribeye almost every time and they nail it 100% of the time. The other must have are the potatoes au gratin... (tip: they reheat almost just as well if you bake them vs. microwave). So why not a 5 star? Its in somewhat of an odd area, not the restaurants fault by any means... but you can't walk next store for a night cap or down the block of ice cream. In... and out. The real reason is we feel like the place could use some design upgrades. They do a fantastic job pulling off the vibe of a steak place as you either remember or imagine it decades ago. However, there is a fine line between run down and classic. If we could have given it 4.5 stars we would, because it deserves it on food and service alone. One other thought: the drinks are fantastic... however, they don't do much in the way of drink presentation. More like you would mix and serve at home. In reality, we believe its the best steak house in all of Orlando.
1. how they bring out the food?? we ate their famous chicken. okay. The rice came out last our orders did not come out at the same time the waitress warned us about it. The rice ended up being nothing more than a Rossotto. Waitress was nice. I am still trying to wonder what all the hype is about. The ambience was okay. We had most of the choice's folks recommended and I was like okay nothing special. Bottom line it is over hyped. Over priced maybe they are trying to attract a certain clientele but even if i was living large this would not be one of my go to restaurants, The Branzino fish what happened to the rest of it??? I had a burger at another location La tropiccana and that was absolutely wonderful All in all some of these high end restaurants are over hyped and the food is ehhhh!!! KYU is over rated. sit at the bar get the pork belly appetizer the chicken and be done with it.

This place is horrible the bartender was so rude he couldn’t hear me and I was loosing my voice so I couldn’t yell so I text on my phone and then I couldn’t hear his response so he screamed at me I was completely sober and the people around me all looked at me like ready for me to go off but as mentioned I was sober and just walked in with my friends so I let it slide. (The drink was also horrible) Then going to the bathroom I went to knock on a door bc I was waiting a long time and the bouncer pushed me again I was sober it wasn’t an aggressive knock. He also grab my friend when she went to look at her self in the mirror. He was so rude and nasty this place sucks!!!! Do not go they don’t deserve your money it’s right and boring I. There anyway only went bc it was open later and up the block from my friends house.

Bachelorette party group. Service was fantastic and so is the atmosphere! No food provided here hence the no stars.

The Location and atmosphere was nice, but the cost of the food, taste and service was terrible. You’re better off going to the rusty pelican.

Wonderful atmosphere and even better service! I had a great meal—the steak was cooked to a perfect medium and paired well with the mashed potatoes and steamed veggies. I also appreciated the well-poured Glenlivet to start the evening. A special mention for the bartender, Gabriella! She was incredibly friendly and engaging, making the whole experience feel personal. Excellent food and top-tier hospitality—I'll definitely be back!
