Finally got around to posting the review of Restaurant Gorden Ramsey his three Michelin starred signature restaurant in London which was a very special treat for my 50th.  To set the scene we opted for the 7 course taster menu called the prestige and matching wine accompaniment.  The good stuff Firstly the food was outstanding. The flavours the chef managed to pack into the crystal clear consume was amazing. Layers of flavours coming in waves telling the story of what ingredients were used in its creation. Truly the finest consume I have ever tasted.  There were a couple of other things that neither of us thought went together in our opinion but food and taste is very personal and the rest was fantastic.   The lows: The cheese trolley was a real disappointment to be honest. It was stacked full of various cheeses from local to French and the waitress responsible for this gave her suggestions on what we should try. Firstly I should say that the portions of cheese were tiny and neither of us liked two of the cheeses but we weren't offered any replacements despite these two being the cheeses that she suggested.  The biggest let down was the service. We were one of the first tables to arrive, three tables arrived together, to start with they were so attentive you felt like you couldn't have a conversation as they were on top of you all of the time. It got so bad at one point,  I picked up a pallet cleaners off the plate and just before I could put it back down a waitress tried to take the plate away!  The last service disappointment was as the evening went on the service got slower and slower which is to be expected and not a problem at all. But we paid a lot of money for the accompanying wine matched to the food for each course. The wine servings were so small that we ran out 3 times between courses!  We were only offered a top up to make up for the delay in service on the final desert wine as we had finished this before the long awaited desert arrived, but we went short for the main and fish dishes having to finish these course with only water.  All in all a great experience and fantastic food but at this level there are too many others we want to try so we wouldn't rush back.

Not sure if it was an off day considering other good reviews but was really disappointed. First time I've been and wanted to eat near Union Chapel before a gig. Waited 45 mins for our meal after asking twice where it was. When it came (with no apology) the pork souvlaki was almost inedible. Meat was gristly and chewy and in a dry pitta. The moussaka was even dry. Left most of the meal which never happens as I'm proper greedy. Best thing were the olives and an ice cold beer but can't really go wrong with those. Won't be returning considering all the great med/Turkish options on Upper St.

After a lighthearted evening watching & Juliet, we made our way to Scaddabush for some Italian comfort food. All of EnD Adventures was together — our daughters, friends, and the two of us — which already set the tone for a memorable night out. Despite the restaurant being packed, we were seated quickly. Our server, Noah, stopped by early with menus and the nightly specials. It was clear the entire team was hustling; drinks took longer than usual, but Noah was doing everything he could to keep the pace. The space itself was a delight. Warm lighting, thoughtful décor, and those whimsical canned vegetables added a quirky charm that made the room feel inviting and full of character. There was always something interesting to notice. The fresh mozzarella — their signature — absolutely lived up to its reputation. Creamy, rich, and beautifully prepared, it was easily the standout of the table. Our meals arrived hot and exactly as ordered, and everyone enjoyed their choices. The only real downside was the long gaps between check-ins for drink refills or questions. With several large tables nearby and the restaurant buzzing, it was understandable, though still noticeable. All in all, it was a lovely evening, and we’d happily return — perhaps to a quieter location next time, just to see how the service feels when the pace isn’t quite so intense. The first thing you have to know is that Travelle is in the Langham Hotel, which is part of a chain more familiar in Asia and Europe. The reason you need to know that is that me and my wife were the only diners from opening at 5 till about 7, when a few parties wandered in, but prime time for dining was more in the range of 8 or 9 pm. Not that this detracted from our experience, but if you like the energy and validation of a crowd, you need to eat late or go elsewhere. As to price, Travelle is very expensive, but if you can restrain yourself from wine and cocktails more than we did, two can eat well for $150. Our tab was $265, but drinks amounted to $140. Our meals justified the prices. Raw oysters on the half shell were the only ordinary part of our meal. My gazpacho was surprisingly green, not red, but subtly delicious with accents of veggies and nuts. My wife had snapper that she called “perfect.” For me, in carb-load mode for the Chicago Marathon, noodles with mushrooms, in the most delicious creamy broth I’ve ever had, couldn’t have been better.  Dessert was banana bread sorbet—original and delicious. We also benefitted from a superb server, Steven, also a runner, who proved to be both knowledgeable and delightful. In sum, Travelle is well worth your time and money.

Like others, we have eaten here several times; and have always had a good experience. The restaurant is still the beautiful and modern setting we remember from yrs past. The location is just off the lobby at the Wyndham Grand Hotel, which is convenient for anyone staying at the Wyndham resort. The decor is clean, and inviting; and even has a fresh fish display, and a sushi chef on hand... This visit, we dined on a Saturday night, and was near dead: Maybe 12 people total, counting our 5. The menu is very limited at this time, which is a downer. A few of the better options, that we remember from before, are no longer available. We opted for the fresh snapper, the fillet with potato, and the crab Mac n cheese. Honestly, I can’t remember what the grandkids ordered(crab Mac n cheese, and sliders, maybe?)... Everything was good, with the snapper stealing the show. We also grabbed a spicy tuna roll, which was excellent. Everything here tasted fresh to say the least. Service here has always been excellent. This visit was no different. Our waitress worked hard to keep everything coming to the table on time, and the glasses full. She also helped us make a nice selection on our wine, which we appreciated. Service gets a 5+ this go around. Overall, we love this place. I’ve rated it a 5 in most of my reviews, but this visit, I’m on the fence. Though I have no real complaints, the limited menu is tough to deal with. I miss the actual menu, which offered an array of fresh dishes. And, while I understand the short staff with this covid thing still hanging around, it still makes it frustrating. Either way, I do recommend trying Deep Blu, if you’re staying near Wyndham Grand, or the Wyndham time-shares at Bonnet Creek. Note: If you are staying at the Hilton or Waldorf Astoria at Bonnet Creek; or even the new JW Marriott, it’s a relatively short walk as well. We’ve done it before ourselves... Enjoy

"I recently ordered breakfast for delivery from Lark Bistro through Just Eat while visiting a friend in Dublin. The estimated delivery time was 20 minutes, but after waiting over an hour and a half, I called the restaurant to inquire about the delay. I was informed that the road near the restaurant was closed for the Dublin marathon, preventing delivery drivers from accessing the area. The staff member I spoke to mentioned that there were around 10 orders waiting for collection, but no drivers could pick them up due to the road closure. When I asked why they were accepting orders if they knew delivery would be impossible, the response I received was dismissive – I was told, "it's not my problem," before the call was abruptly ended. Restaurants on Just Eat have the option to decline orders, and on a day with known delivery issues, it’s disappointing that Lark Bistro continued to accept orders, leaving customers waiting without any proactive communication. This experience felt unprofessional and frustrating, and I hope they reconsider their approach to handling orders during similar events in the future."

"This is our go-to spot in Chicago because the quality of the food is truly exceptional. However, there are times when the service doesn't match the culinary excellence. For example, during a recent visit on a quiet Monday evening (around 9:00 PM), the host initially handled our request for a table of six with unnecessary hesitation and doubt, despite the dining room having plenty of open seating and no reserve tables. A more welcoming and efficient approach from the host stand would significantly improve the overall guest experience, which is crucial for a restaurant of this caliber.

Great venue but food was nothing to write home about and very overpriced for what it was. Simple bowl of not that special gnocchi for £24! Two slices of tomato with radicchio for £7. Very unimaginative vegetarian selection. But we were most disappointed by the unsmiling serving and the long wait after the mains. We felt ignored. We waited so long, in fact, we decided to go elsewhere for desert. We won’t be returning.

Absolutely my favorite spa so far in Vietnam. I asked for a facial, 60min massage, and the Indian head massage. They helped me choose the Vietnamese massage option for my preferences and it was wonderful. Like a combination of Swedish massage and kneading techniques. Super thorough but gentle extractions during the facial. And the Indian hair massage was just the right pressure and combination of techniques - I’ve gotten “head spas” before that were just scratching and scrubbing and it didn’t feel good. And she detangled my hair as she went as well. I wish I could come here every week. They also had the same therapist for all three treatments so I never had to switch rooms and she kind of blended the three services together which also meant I didn’t have to lay in the same position for too long. Also delicious infused water to start, delicious tea and yogurt fruit pudding at the end. And I was able to shower before and was offered a shower after. Plus - a written questionnaire before and written feedback requested after. I truly have no notes - it’s perfect here. I believe my therapists name was Trâm.

Waiting 10 minutes for a menu and it was slow so what was the reason? Conversations more important?

Fine Dining in a Living Room Atmosphere Edition Finesse in Maroni is a truly special place: small, personal, high quality and full of warmth – a restaurant where you do not simply come to eat, but to meet, enjoy, exchange ideas and often come across inspiring people. The atmosphere is incredibly personal and welcoming, almost like spending an evening in the living room of friends – just with cuisine at an exceptional level. Christoph and his team have created something truly unique: high-quality, creative food with great attention to detail and a genuine passion for ingredients, wine and hospitality. Many of the ingredients come directly from the nearby permaculture garden. Especially the vegetables taste completely different from what most people are used to. The eggplants are a perfect example: even people who usually avoid eggplants should give them a try here – they have very little in common with the ones you typically find in supermarkets. The pizza is outstanding: sourdough, long fermented and baked in a stone oven – you can immediately taste the quality and care that goes into it. Antipasti, gnocchi and the seasonal dishes are equally special. On top of that, there is an impressive wine selection. You quickly notice that wine is not simply something served alongside the food, but another true passion. It is best to reserve in advance, as the restaurant is intentionally small, quiet and very private – which is exactly what gives it its charm. At the moment some of the streets in Maroni are being renewed with natural stone paving. The restaurant is still easy to reach; approaching from the south or taking a short walk through the village works best. This combination of outstanding food, personal atmosphere and genuine passion has made Edition Finesse our new favourite restaurant on Cyprus – and a place we always look forward to returning to. For us, clearly 5 stars.
